Might be interested in 1 each red/green/rellow/blue d-pads (to match the button colours of euro controller)  if you start doing them.  Think that would look great for players 1-4.

(nice shot of a pube in pic 3 by the way. lol)

That was the first thing I looked for too.

Please tell me the light-up feature is optional. I know people really love that sort of thing, but I can't stand it. It feels obnoxious.
Unlit though, those controllers look phenomenal, especially the translucent PAL colored (coloured?) ones.

I have always wanted properly colored snes buttons. Thought about buying a pal controller just to have a superior faceplace and the colored buttons. But the x and y buttons....ehhh......It would just feel wrong  :'(

Wiggy, if you make more and sell them, I would buy 4 sets of them.

Bah, it's a carpet fiber. Nobody in my house has pubes that light :P

Damn, I didn't think everyone and their mother would want these. The mold only produces 2 sets at a time.  I have to mix 5 colors to produce those 2 sets (at least for the J/PAL colors) and that is seriously time consuming. I'll have to make a larger capacity mold. Making 2 sets at a time to sell would be really far from profitable.

Off to order some more silicone I guess. This mold used up the last 10 or so ounces that I had left :-\

Would it be too hard to make Xbox 360 style buttons with embedded letters?

He would have to make at least 2 different molds for just 1 button set. So it would take twice the amount of time to make a set of buttons. Plus the time it takes to make the inner mold for the A,B,X, and Y.

It would look awesome and is a cool idea. It would be possible. But extremely difficult and to time consuming. Extremely cost ineffective.

I was thinking like pouring tiny bit of resin then embedding the letter and then filling the mold.

Wouldn't that work?

Do you mean like taking a letter cutout and sticking it in clear resin? Then sticking the mold together to lets it dry?

If that's what you mean then I would just say no because you would have a high chance of the letter migrating when you put the mold together and it drying sideways/crooked/upside down/etc...

You would really need a dual cast process for it to look really good. I'll make a doodle.

Step one:
you would need to make the top mold be the smooth exterior of the button and this same mold could be used for both steps.
The bottom mold would need to form the transparent outer shell (in the color of your choice) with a letter indention into the shell. Like so...

Step two:
Like I said, we would use the same top mold, but make sure you leave your previous shell in the mold because as shown in this step you will be pouring a solid color (white would be the best choice to make the letter most visible) inside the shell.
The bottom cast would look like the normal inside of a button. Like so...

This is how you would get your cool looking xbox style buttons.

I know it looks a bit crude because it was like a 10 second drawing and I'm really freaking tired., but I hope it gets the point across.  :D YAY!

Basicly yes, but I was thinking even simpler hand casting that only uses one mold.

Pour bit of clear resin, let it set a bit, then carefully using tweezers embed the letter in correct position, then continue pouring colored resin carefully using needle and syringe.

If I looked at the Wiggy's buttons correctly the look solid so no need for other side mold, right?
