Hi!  Yeah, finally made a post or two there ;D

I'll let you know about the GBA.  Hell, I might just sell this one after I finish it.  I need moneyz for 3D printer!!!  I'm thinking of unloading the SNES mini arcade too.  Honestly, I have nowhere to put it.  It's on the floor of my man cave all lonely like :(

I'm fairly sure every printer available for sale is in the 3rd dimension. ::)

How much does one cost? How does one work exactly, can you just print any 3D model?

wiggy:

The one I want is about $2,500 (Makerbot Replicator 2).

It uses an additive process.  Think of how a hot glue gun works, that's basically what a 3D printer does, heats up a plastic rod and ejects it through a small nozzle. That nozzle is connected to a print head that can move on all three axis (x, y, z). It builds very thin layers of that ejected hot plastic in order to build a part. Like making a a sphere out of LEGOs. Same idea, but at a much higher resolution.

That make sense?
