Holy Crap!

PMed ya!
So, this is the 1st of my own personal SNES games to have a battery go dead. I've changed plenty for other folks, but have never had a failure of my own up to this point.
It's SimCity. Of all the battery-backup SNES games that I have, I would exepct this to go first. It was a launch title AND I can't help but imagine that the save files create a tad more drain on the batery since there's so much data to keep track of, versus something like SMW where the only thing it really needs to save are whcih levels have been completed.
Anyway, I found these little battery clips that allow me to keep the original tabs in place and only require soldering to one terminal. I HATE desoldering, and I thought I'd give this a go in order to save some headache. On top of that, these are actually the cheapest CR2032 holders on digikey :D
I guess .5-.6V is about when they crap out :/

Doing some S-vid mods tonight :)
And I know at least one member that'll be happy to see this ;)

So close I can taste 'em...

Genesis 3 S-video mod and power LED mounted under the power switch.
Custom S-vid to 1/8" mini plug cable.
And just so you have an idea of how wonderfully tedious it was to install that power LED where I did, here's the SMD that I used.
Mmmm, that was fun. Mounting it was a blast too. Nothing like needle-nose tweezers and super glue to make someone wanna rip their hair out LOL!
Dr.Agon:
why do you insist on using SMD LED's? surely mounting a regular LED would be much easier!, do you just have a large stock you want to get rid of or something??
