I've always preferred the model one units but came across the number twos quite frequently. Currently have 4 model 2 combos that I acquired in a donation very similar to yours when I managed a small video game store about 12 years ago. All of them work and are in good shape, they are just put away and never see the light of day. Gonna pull them out this weekend, search for all the cables (which could be a nightmare considering I had the TERRIBLE idea to collect of of my excess cables in a 35 gallon tote which is currently PACKED), and fire it up with a few games. --- End quote --- Would you be interested in it at all even if I can't get her up-and-running? Man, you and I have more and more in common each day it seems. First it was really similar taste in music, now game retail management LOL! I hear ya on the bag/bin o' cords. I just went through all of mine and cleaned house when I built those new shelves and giant controller drawer. It finally freed up enough room to store all the hookups and whatnot that had just been in a large Rubbermaid bin for a decade or so. It depends on what doesn't work in it - If I feel like I could repair it myself (replacing the internal battery I'm more than capable of doing) I'd take it. I'll just keep my eyes peeled to see what's wrong with it. I just fired up my model 2 Genesis/ Sega CD combo and it works great, Genesis works and looks great, the Sega CD's battery needs to be replaced in order to save though, unless you find of of those elusive back-up cartridges. Knowing you though, you'd probably find a way to make it solar powered or something crazy like that lol! I didn't know you managed a retail store too, that's ironic! I only did it for about two years before I moved onto a Regional Management position for a health food chain on the west coast. That's actually when I began collecting again because I lost my first collection in an electrical fire at my old apartment complex, but enough about me... :) The plastic tote wouldn't have been such a bad idea if I neatly tied everything up and placed it in there, instead of the tangled mess it currently is. --- End quote --- |

Rick, I'll take a look at it soon and see what I can see. It seems that the drive is dead or that something came loose. It still boots, just won't load a disk. --- Quote from: Dan-Fu on August 01, 2012, 11:33:10 PM ---lol They're pretty cool. The white titles make my life SOOOOO much easier :) --- Quote from: Slingshotgamer on August 01, 2012, 11:39:11 PM ---Can we see that Sega CD template too? --- End quote --- I didn't do any games yet, since I don't have any, but I'll post it up soon. |
