I'm pretty sure those won't fit in a DS style case. I can check though.

Thank you so much for checking.

BTW I love my all black stands that you made.

I finally got all my handhelds in a slim dvd stand and it looks great!

I have two of those exact same shelves, which I use for my portable games, but this makes me think they might be better suited for my portable consoles.  I've been wanting to buy a bunch of the stands from Wiggy, but I currently don't have a place to display my portables.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

OK, so they technically fit, but there's a hint of bulge.  With that in mind, I couldn't make a part which would allow them to snap into place.  I could only make a piece that would keep it from wiggling around in the cavity meant for GB games.  A simple laser cut insert would do the job.  Keep in mind that there's NO room for a manual in there if you store the games with the little clear clamshell cases.

Well this was extremely satisfying. About 5-6 years ago I traded with N64guy for the silver Panasonic Q console.  It had shattered DVD tray rails (like so many others, including the orange one right next to it), which I painstakingly glued back together in order to take measurements so that I could reverse engineer them.

I did indeed create CAD models for both rails and printed several of them on my old Replicator 2. Getting a set of good, non-warped parts (which ain't easy when using FDM printers) took some time. I finally did get a decent set, but the problem wasn't 100% fixed. Later on I acquired a second broken unit, which obviously got a bit of a makeover. This of course got me motivated to get them back to 100% working order. Turns out the drive belts were the other problem. Found a suitable replacement part and now both are working perfectly, each with a set of printed rails (the silver has an old set of FDM prints, and the Orange had a set from our Form2 SLA printer).

Next up I'll be making a blue unit for a friend and long-time customer :)

I miss mine. I stupidly broke it while trying to mod the Cube part of it for US games. I think I got mad and ended up throwing it in the trash. This was when the system first came out and I got it from a friend who was living in Japan at the time.

Are those something you'd be willing to share/sell? I finally picked up my first NGPC with 6 games and I'd love to be able to box them up on a shelf

Ugh.  I've got one of those sitting in a box in need of a little love as well.  Congrats on getting it up-and-running.  Thanks!

I'm going to let Jeremy over at Shadowfox distribute them.  Doing a smallish run for him right now actually.  They aren't cheap to produce though.  I think my materials cost for each is around $1.50 using a formlabs Form2 printer and standard resin.  Not sure how much he's going to be asking for them though.  I'll also be uploading the STL file to our site so folks can print them on their own :)

FDM version of the NGPC custom game cases insert. A LOT cheaper, can be printed in any color you like, and still fits like a glove!

Brilliant!  :o

That kind of approach opens up a lot of possibilities for casing less common cartridge types. I'd buy a number of those for my NGPC games.

Wiggy,

I wanted to show this video of the final version of the handheld tower I made using your stands. I really appreciate your work.
I filled the adjustable peg holes and finished them in black, All the rechargeable devices have power to them to keep them charged, and then I put a RGB light system in. The link is to the video.

Wiggy please feel free to use it if you like.

Edit: changed the orientation of the movie to be correct.

Edit 2:: ok lesson learned, no video embedding in these forums, or none that I can see.

Thanks!  I'm gonna see if I can squeeze wonderswan games in next :)

I'll check it out as soon as I'm back at my computer. Sounds very cool, especially with chargers for everything. That sounds like a fun project.
