Nice, know the area well, ex's cousin lived up there and I used to be attached to an army unit up there in Twinsburg across from the old auto plant. I'll definitely have to go get my order up there, and if you're getting those white cases that might make me order sooner lol. Get some Pulp while I'm there too, the guy that franchises that one used to give me half off, can't get that at any other outlet lol, been a few years since I've been there tho, probably doesn't remember me.

And yea, stone age is in the area too, not 20 minutes close but if we ever got ShadowFox to move up to like the falls or something I could just pick up everything I need for retro gaming and never mail anything lol.

The more I've been all over the place the more I think it's a really small world lol

Neat light up by the way, I know it's probably way late to say it but you got a real knack for this stuff lol. I prefer handhelds over consoles anyway so probably why your store caught my eye

They are all very Beautiful.

Thanks!

You have Zelda logo embossed ? :o

Yup. It's a little trick using the laser cutter. Cut the cartridge shell, a piece of acrylic to place behind the hole I cut in the cart shell, cut and affix the Zelda letters, then cut/etch and apply the gold label.

Looks great man! Are you still in the cleveland area? I'm down in Akron and some day in the next few months would love to get some of the display stands (once I build a room to display them in lol) and if you're "local" enough I may just pick them up. Just like with the everdrive's the guy I buy from is in Ohio too, who knew lol

Thanks and yes.  I actually just moved to Macedonia, so I'm even closer to you now :D

You talking about Stoneage Gamer?

In celebration of the Switch launch details, I made this today :)

Hey Wiggy, where did you or how did you develop the plans for your in-wall shelving? I'm thinking about making something similar in the extra space of my garage/workshop and need some tips.

I drew up a model in Solidworks, which was WAY more than what was required to do the job.  I just wanted to be able to render it and place it in a photo of my basement as a preview :P

Honestly I used 1x6" for the entire structure save for a 1/4" plywood back.  I used shelf railing and clips like these in order to have a modular system.  The entire thing was put together with wood screws using butt joints.  I finished the front with some 1x2" and 1x8" ( it needed a clean finish around the edges since it was built in to the wall).  I think the whole thing took me about 2 days to build, and then another to install, cleanup, etc.

I did not. It's not neccesarry, but it definitely makes it look a bit cleaner if you do.

Okie dokie. So what was the average length of each shelf? And I'm guessing you had to either remove the studs or had custom ones in mind when you built the wall.

I did not remove studs.  There was actually a built-in unit in place when I moved in to the house.  I tore it out to make my own.

Removing studs isn't really a viable option anyway.  Just build out from the wall.

My first ever Wiki modification/entry!  That was surprisingly easy. It's kind eerie how easy it is actually.

Anyway, added the gloss red DSi (and labelled the other red as "matte"), and the Saga 2 L.E.  The color lists for almost all of the portable entries are incomplete. I think I'll eventually update them all. Good sitting on the pooper activity :P

Haha this sounds like me. I tend to draw up everything in Solidworks. I guess once you become accustomed to having CAD models, it's hard to go back.

I used to be the same way when I had access to a CAD program.  I would draw up the entire house just to mess around with furniture layouts.  I didn't really need to, it was just fun.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Complete DSi set (covering all regions, not just US)...

I think. There isn't a massive wealth of info out there.  Time to make a display case :)

I have like no time for projects anymore, but I did manage to sneak in this and a copy of Link's Awakening (shell is still sitting in the paint booth).

Hopefully I can get to boxes for them before too long...

The Chinese bootleg carts actually make the process a LOT easier because they're about 1/2 as tall, which means I can mount them right on top of the SGB cart port vias. Way easier than using legit GB carts.

edit: all done :)

After nearly a year living in our new house, I'm finally making some shelving. It took my wife and son being out of town for 10 days in order to find the time.  Even got to break out the dado blades, which I almost never get to use :)

Hopefully I'll be able to crank on them after work for the next couple of days and actually have them done when they come home.
