As someone who just moved a few months ago I concur, physical games weigh far too much when put together into a box to be moved.

Very museum like! Sweet work! Too bad you have to pack it up.

Thank you, sir.

Good luck with the move.  Hope you don't have to keep your stuff boxed up for too long.   8)

I've been making a lot of stand alone shelving lately, so some of it will come righ out of the box, and back on to shelves.  That said, the new man cave isn't nearly as large as my current basement, so I'm gonna need to be creative with storage, and I may have to (GASP) store some games UGC-free  :o

It is a bit of a bummer, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not looking forward to making new shelving and such ;D

I was pretty shocked at how much a box of 100-150 N64 carts in UGCs weighs. I mean, it's mostly air :-\

All games packed.
All portables packed.
Starting on consoles.

Honestly, I can't wait to get into the new house and start planning the new setup :)

Funny you should ask, as my wife just met him yesterday (I was still at work).  He's in his early 20's, so he seemed to get it (he's obviously seen the house before it was all packed up).

Moving?  Re: Holy Crap!

Hope the new place is awesome!

It's perfect!  2,000 sq-ft garage with a loft to house the business, and the house is just amazing. It'll be really nice having the biz back at home, and the best part is half of the mortgage/utilities/etc. are tax deductible now :D

By old game room!

(Anyone who wants a 36" XBR and lives near Cleveland can feel free to come and get it. Weighs 250lbs, and is in a basement. I cannot help move it, so bring two LARGE friends and an appliance dolly if you want it)

As much as I hate moving, I would probably enjoy the opportunity to setup a completely new gaming setup in a new house.  I'm weird like that.  Last weekend I finally hooked up my Retrovision component cables for Genesis, SMS and SNES.  Because of the different video cable type, I actually had to change a bunch of stuff around in my switch boxes, which eventually lead to me unhooking every single system and rewiring it all from scratch.  It took the better portion of a full day and I actually enjoyed ever second of it.  :P

Anyway, good luck with the move and I look forward to seeing pictures of new setup whenever it's done.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Dude, totally.

My wife once asked me what heaven would be for me. She though it would "probably be a place where you don't have to fix or make anything, and it's all done for you."

I told her that sounds a lot more like hell for me lol

Nice collection and setup. I was wondering if it would be possible to get a look on the inside of the UGC you did for your PSP please, I've scrolled through and seen the ones done for the Gameboys but couldn't see the PSP

I'll have to dig it up.  I don't store the portables in the UGCs anymore, and I've since stored them in boxes (the UGCs)
