Don't you still have some extra pins in your broken Genie you could spare?

I do, but just barely enough to make another.  I destroyed a bunch before figuring out an effective way of extracting them without bending them. If you bend them even slightly it becomes VERY difficult to reuse them.  It requires 16 for the mod, and I have 17 left.  That leaves me with a very small margin for error, and I can almost guarantee that I'll bend at least 2-3 making another.  Even though I have a good system now, I'm apt to still have a hiccup here and there.  These are pretty tiny, weak parts, so bending a few by accident is just a reality that I can't do much about :(  Even after I figured out a way to extract them I still bent a few trying to reinstall them.  The hole that you need to squeeze them through is about 1.5mm wide by a nearly immeasurable height, not to mention the small "ramp" inside the plastic housing that you must carefully navigate over without bending the pin.

Basically, it's REALLY tight and the parts are extremely small.  This sort of thing was never meant to be done by hand (even by the hands of small Chinese sweatshop workers :P )

Don't go out of your way yet - I can't say 100% I want you to make me one yet. :D

Well, I want you to make me one.  Just not sure if I want to buy it. :D

It's hardly going out of my way, don't worry.  I'm on eBay every day hunting for deals anyway, and the estimate doesn't require much effort at all since it's about 97% labor and 3% materials (about 2-3" of .22" solder, 40" of 26G wire, one #2 Xacto blade, and about 4-6 drops of super glue)

I think I can do it for about 50 shipped within the US plus the cost of parts.  I can pretty easily source the parts for about 10-15 shipped on eBay/Amazon, plus I may be able to find them for less if I shop locally at one of the nearby used game stores.

On a side note, do any of you guys collect Nintendo Power mags?  I'm looking for a scan of the issue that has Stunt Race on the cover (plus whatever decent images are in the article about the game).  I can grab the issue on eBay for about 4 shipped, but I just want the damned cover really.  I'm not super excited about my cover for the game, and I'd like to revamp it a bit, but artwork for the game is pretty non-existent on the web  :-\

It's issue #63 from August 1994.

No, sorry.  I bought the yellow Sega brand case in like 2000 and the other few I had all at one time a year or two later.  I wish they were still available somewhere.  Probably my favorite system to mod.  Compact, easy to work with, has great games plus the ability to emulate a wide variety of machines really well :(

Curse you wiggy and your awesome box making prowess!

so now you should like, post a video of a game boy game pllugged into a game genie plugged into a super game boy plugged into a game genie plugged into an SNES

sega stack will soon meet its match

Or post a video of a micro SD card plugged into Sd card adapter plugged into GB emulator cart pllugged into a game genie plugged into a super game boy plugged into a game genie plugged into Action Replay plugged into an SNES.

Of course the SD cart is empty as we don't like video game piracy, besides the tower woulkd not work anyway, and if switched on would probably blow the fuse inside the SNES.  ;)

Don't forget to have everything plugged into a Super 8/Tri-Star!  ;D

Zelda box kicked my ass the 1st time around then my printer went crazy.  I've been flying through ink, duh, so I risked picking up some eBay ink.  HUGE, HUGE mistake.  My cyan jet got clogged, the shitty ink sprayed all over the inside of the printer, and it's still recovering.  I spent about 3 hours cleaning the jet, priming the printer, cleaning the jet again, etc.  Blues are still sorta fucked.  Lighter blues all come out far too light, and I can't seem to completely fix the issue.  Can't really afford a new printer at the moment, so I'm just trying to avoid too much light blue in my covers  :-[

Going to attempt Zelda box 2.0 this week with thinner material.  The 45mil shit is WAY too thick.  Gonna grab what I should've in the 1st place, cheap-ass poster board.

Anywho, been moving things around on the shelves and whatnot.  Thought I'd post an updated pic of where the portables are at the moment.

Casing the systems has been fun, but it's a lot of work.  Been doing a lot of double/tripple UGCs and DS cases lately (as you can see).  Oh well, back to Ranma covers...

I'll try and take pics of both the rest of the mess and the gutty-wutts of the cases today. I tried to use the unused space for accessories (you know, for the systems that don't really need a double UGC like the PSP and DS Lite).
