Thanks folks.

The wifey and I are going to try and sell the house in the next couple of months. Not looking forward to making more shelving (well, I sorta am). I think this time around I won't do built-ins

Move to Colorado ;)

Would be really tough to move the business that far. I have 4 full time employees now, and I'm pretty sure I can't convince them to move along with me, and it took a LOT of work to train them all :-\

So, decided to reprint all of my SNES covers. They've been printed on various printers over the years, and the color consistency is lacking, to say the least.  Roughly 350 covers. Took a few hours to get them all flattened and plopped into a giant InDesign file.  Gonna take forever to cut them all.

Act Raiser > Act Raiser 2

Just my opinion though.

But man that's a lot of covers to redo...

I think azarkhel did 2. In fact, I'm sure he did. I touched up about 2-3 dozen in the process. Nothing big, mostly just correcting player numbers, removing the recycling stuff on the back (which I couldn't do with AR2, since all I had was the flattened JPG).

Did the math, cost be about $130 to reprint all of them. Did no expect it to be that much :-\ It'll probably take me 2-3 months to cut them all.

I meant I like the first Act Raiser game better than the second one. Lol.

Both covers look good to me.

And hell ya man that's a lot of money to reprint covers. I don't know if I'd do that.

Oh my... cutting all of those would be my own personal hell. Good luck man.

I feel your pain. I have a shoe box of assorted games that are cleaned and ready for cases but cutting is my least favorite part so I keep putting it off.

We need to find a kickstarter for an automatic cutter. That would be awesome!

I know that most people swear by the straight edge and razor blade, but I got through my covers so much quicker with my paper cutter.  I was averaging 20 to 30 covers a night for a while, and I would have gone mad if I was using a straight edge with a razor blade.

I have one of those board cutters with the long bladed handle, and while it's nice for just cutting a stack of paper, it's not very precise. It leaves a lot of white edges. And to actually get it perfect it takes a couple of minutes per sheet. To where if I just use a metal ruler and Xacto knife I can get 1 cover way faster.

I wasn't talking about cutting a stack of paper at once.  I was taking about cutting one sheet at a time, which with a paper cutter takes less than 10 seconds for all four edges with no white edges and perfectly straight cuts.  There is no way I can do the same with a straight edge and knife.  May be others can, but it's not for me.  After about 5 pages, I would start to get sloppy with a straight edge and make mistakes.  Not a problem with a paper cutter.

No I understand man, I wasn't trying to come off like I was saying you're wrong. Sorry if I did. I was meaning that's just how I prefer it because my paper cutter is a piece of shit lol.
I'm not going to even try to tell anyone that their method of cutting paper is wrong. It's just whatever works best for thy individual.

No, I didn't take it that way, I was just clarifying.

I only mentioned it because at one point in time, someone told me (honestly don't remember who) that they didn't get straight cuts with a paper cutter.  The solution is pretty simple.  Get a better paper cutter.  :P  The same thing would happen if you bought a shitty straight edge that was bent or warped or if you weren't using a sharp knife.  In that case the straight edge/knife method wouldn't give you good cuts either.  And again, the solution would be to buy a better straight edge or knife.

When I first started out here, I was printing my covers on cheap copy paper with my old HP printer on standard settings.  Needless to say, those covers looked like crap.  I also used my wife's old paper cutter from her scrap book room.  This thing was old and had a $0.50 price tag from an old garage sale.  This blade was so dull, it would tear the paper more than cut it.  So then I had crappy quality paper and prints with torn edges.  It didn't take long for me to start buying some good quality paper, along with a new printer and of course a new paper cutter with replaceable blades.  And now I'm finally caught up with 100% of my game collection (approx. 1,300 games) in either their original cases or some type of custom case and cover.
