Covering up wood with paint always feels like a sin to me. :( --- End quote --- Two things kept me from doing that. 1) It's super dark in my basement and I was sick of it being that way, and 2) the shelving wasn't the prettiest wood. I had to piece the far left corner together since what was there originally was installed in an era when a 1"x8" was actually 1 inch thick by 8 inches wide, and there were some areas which were slightly warped, so I had to cut some oddball pieces to finish the area plus a lot of planing, sanding, etc. just to get everything nice and even. This didn't leave the corner looking all that wonderful as bare wood. Anyway, took a few weeks of work, but it's finally done. |
