Plain ol' pine. Usually just the low quality planks (1x6, 1x8, 1x10), but when I make little stuff like the paint rack I tend to use "select" or "perfect" pine (whatever they call it at any given location). I just make sure to pick the best boards I can find, which sometimes means sighting down about 10-15 boards before I find enough without significant cupping, bowing, etc. |
