This is rather impressive and amazing. Looks like a lot of money, and hours of dedication went into creating what you have there :)

Thank you!

YES!  A LOT of time and a LOT of $$$ money at this point, but I've loved every minute of putting it all together :D

:D

So I made some new shelves today.

But they're not so much for games as the ever-growing mass of paint that my partner keeps picking up, which we have like zero room for in the office.  This will take care of that :)

Hi Wiggy. Just wanted to drop in and comment on your recent pictures. Loving your set up! I got to see your white "Wiggy-style" n64 covers in action (I see them every day when I look at my own shelf). I think it looks great and just goes to show you what a lot of planning gets you in the end. It's so worth it because once you have all of your games cased and on a shelf, you can then easily see everything you own and figure out what you'd like to play next so much easier. I also liked your NES style covers (would be cool to do but I wouldn't be able to get those coversfor all of the games I have).

I can't remember what it was like anymore having these games in boxes, hidden in the closet. Have you impressed any friends or visitors yet with your set up?

Good luck with your future endeavors!

I was also wondering, you probably save a ton on ink when printing your n64 covers as opposed to a regular cover, right? i figured that its base color was white, which means less ink.

Wiggy, do you sell any shelving you make? Just looking at the quality of that paint stand you just made makes me think you could make some good money on the side selling your work.

Also your collection and custom cases look fantastic.

Thanks!  Yeah, seeing everything cases now is so satisfying :D Was definitely worth all the time and trouble.

My gamer friends do seem to like the setup when they see it.  It's a good feeling :)

Yup!  A lot easier on the ol' printer versus the über black SNES covers :-\

I don't. Honestly, it's not terribly special. Just a bunch of butt joints and some nails. Honestly, almost anyone could make shelves like those with almost no tools and a little planning. Home Depot or Lowe's will cut the wood to length for ya, then it's just a matter of assembly (which was very literally just a hammer and nails for that paint rack).  Also, I have NO extra time lol!  Wish I did. Can't even finish my own projects lately :P

Whipped up a Famicom template. Thanks to Azarkhel for giving me a little head start on it :)

I, too, make my own shelving just because it fits to the exact size you want. Its not all that difficult, and its kinda fun if you ask me.

That's my feeling as well.  Plus you have the ability to make it to your exact specifications, which is really the only way to go IMO.

just out of curiosity, what kind of wood do you use for your shelving? and do you buy your wood by the panels or one large piece and cut them yourself?

Plain ol' pine.  Usually just the low quality planks (1x6, 1x8, 1x10), but when I make little stuff like the paint rack I tend to use "select" or "perfect" pine (whatever they call it at any given location).   I just make sure to pick the best boards I can find, which sometimes means sighting down about 10-15 boards before I find enough without significant cupping, bowing, etc.

I gotta post all that stuff.  The NES/Fami games are the only ones I haven't bothered to up yet.   I'll get on that soon :)
