Soundwave, could you possibly get us a few pics comparing these cases to the length of these cases to that of a DS case? (Height would be nice too, but I think I've got a good idea of that one based on the height of a CD case). |

Just put a DS case next to a jewel case and compare it to the pic. I imagine they're damn near the same thickness. |

Width they're nearly the same as a Jewel Case. Length, we have no clue. The previous 8-disc poly cases were a little bit longer (also taller and wider) than a standard Jewel Case; thus the curiosity. |

Looks exactly the same to me. |

IMPORTANT: For any of you that are interested in or thinking of ordering these cases, dont bother getting the double disc ones. For any game that requires 2 or more discs just order the QUAD disc cases and remove the plastic insert. The reason I tell you this is because the double disc cases are slightly thicker than both the single and quad disc cases oddly enough, plus they dont hold the manuals in all too well. FYI --- Quote from: Velmeran on March 07, 2012, 10:49:35 AM ---Height they're nearly the same as a Jewel Case. Width they're nearly the same as a Jewel Case. Length, we have no clue. I am taking into account the outer rim of the jewel case btw. --- Quote from: BadChad on March 06, 2012, 10:09:45 PM ---I like these! Ive been storing my PS1 games in PS2 cases but I think I like this much more! Much closer to retail in size. --- End quote --- Yes! this is the whole reason I'v been looking for something like this. it also makes it easier for artists to create covers compared to DVD cases, and storing them in those just started to feel..... wrong to me.... I guess. --- Quote from: TyrannicalFascist on March 07, 2012, 09:12:27 AM ---Love it! I haven't recased my PS1 games yet, and I was leaning toward the existing poly disc cases, but this is even better, and it keeps the theme I have so far of all my custom cased games being in clear cases. This will be perfect for my humble PS1 game library! :) --- End quote --- The clear case allows for the original insert artwork to be displayed in these as well, which I know your so good at ;D --- Quote from: Velmeran on March 07, 2012, 01:23:52 AM ---So just to recap and make sure I'm following you correctly regarding the covers you've used. You just took the current covers from the PS1 "8-Disc Poly Case" Cover thread; changed the overall width down to 11.25 inches. And ideally we'd drop the spine from nearly 15mm down to 10mm or so from the spine? Thinking about converting some of my ps1/ps2/ps3 cases to this (just some, running into some space issues and I'd like to keep certain series together, but I don't have space for a DVD or BD case in that area) --- End quote --- Yes, all I did was resize it to 11 and a quarter inches. As you can tell by the MML2 spine shot I took, the "2" and the "NTSC" are creeping over to the front cover, which really bothers me. I would also recommend that you resize the hight to exactly 12cm, the ones iv printed are a little on the tall side. I am really hoping someone would help me design a template for these babies. we'd just have to take shenske's original templates and modify them a bit. --- Quote from: irvgotti452 on March 06, 2012, 08:05:09 PM ---MML2 looks good. Even better with the Sutter Home in the backdrop ;) --- End quote --- Haha, definitely 8) |
