does a composite cable improve ps2 graphics con a 32 lcd tv?

Component cables will dramatically improve clarity and color on progressive scan capable games, and will marginally improve non-progressive scan games (mostly just better color, but maybe a little clearer). Watch out because supposedly PS1 games can't use the component cable at all (I haven't confirmed this myself).

A composite cable is the standard yellow cable that comes with the system that yields a fuzzy picture with dull colors that bleed all over the place.

it was a mistake i wanted to say component

so buying one of this cables is a good investment, and yeah i heard the same thing about  the ps1, when i buy the cable i will test it on my ps1 games. Thank you dude

I've yet to play a single PS1 game that works with component video :(

I can't say for 100% sure, but my experience has definitely been that component and PS1 are not good friends.

There are threads all about the webz about such.  There's even a thread here where a certain very knowledgeable fellow (can't recall his SN at the moment) outlines exactly which chip needs to be in your SNES in order to do a component mod.  I'd post links, but I'm on my phone which makes such things rather tedious.

The biggest problem is going to be finding a unit that has the chipset that you need.  I've got 6 working SNES units and 10 extra mother boards around and NONE of them have the chip required for the mod  :-\  I'm REALLY interested in the mod myself, but it's nearly impossible to know which unit will have that particular chip without popping it open :(

It does NOT come in any mini, as they are all identical (as far as we know).  That's what makes it so hard to identify one in the wild :(

I got 2 component cables from China via Ebay (one for my Wii, one for original Xbox).  I assumed that similar to HDMI cables, there is little difference in quality.  Unfortunately, I noticed that when playing a game, every so often the video will cut out for a second or so and then resume.  I've never had this problem with my Wii using composite, and I've only ever used the component cable for the Xbox (I have no other cable).

I bought the cables from two different sellers at different times.  Is this a common occurrence in low quality cables or is this possibly an issue with my television's component inputs or something?

It's almost certainly the low quality cables.

That's what I was thinking.  I'm out a total of $11 though so I can't complain that much.  Can anyone recommend decent quality component cables for Wii or Xbox (they don't have to be first party).

The Wii first party component cables are a little easier to find but you will pay the first party price $24.99 to $34.99. The official are also still available on the Nintendo online store.

Ask for Xbox, what pisses me off is even when I type in ORIGINAL Xbox component cables, they still give me 360 cables  >:(

But there's the Xbox High Definition AV Pack which is the official cable with toslink (optical) out for 5.1. There's the cable I have which I believe is first party but they seem to be rare, it has toslink out as well.

Of course for both there's the Monster Cables which are very good quality especially the shielding I have used both of them on both systems, but they are of course expensive because of the brand name.

Trust me, don't buy Chinese knock offs, I did that and it almost ruined my TV.

This for the Wii

I've never run my original Xbox through component, so no recommendation there :(

You have to know how to search for that sort of thing.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p3984.m570.l1313&_nkw=xbox+component+-360&_sacat=0

Use "Xbox component -360" instead of "original Xbox"

The "-" will cause the search to exclude any instance of "360" in the results and you won't be stuck with a parameter such as "original", which isn't likely to help since it's not something that every seller will use in their auction to describe the old Xbox ;)
