Watch out because supposedly PS1 games can't use the component cable at all (I haven't confirmed this myself). A composite cable is the standard yellow cable that comes with the system that yields a fuzzy picture with dull colors that bleed all over the place. --- End quote --- it was a mistake i wanted to say component so buying one of this cables is a good investment, and yeah i heard the same thing about the ps1, when i buy the cable i will test it on my ps1 games. Thank you dude |

I've yet to play a single PS1 game that works with component video :( I can't say for 100% sure, but my experience has definitely been that component and PS1 are not good friends. |

There are threads all about the webz about such. There's even a thread here where a certain very knowledgeable fellow (can't recall his SN at the moment) outlines exactly which chip needs to be in your SNES in order to do a component mod. I'd post links, but I'm on my phone which makes such things rather tedious. The biggest problem is going to be finding a unit that has the chipset that you need. I've got 6 working SNES units and 10 extra mother boards around and NONE of them have the chip required for the mod :-\ I'm REALLY interested in the mod myself, but it's nearly impossible to know which unit will have that particular chip without popping it open :( |
