RetroDuo Portable Video Review - SNES & NES 2-in-1
satoshi_matrix:
Hey guys, I thought I'd share with you my video review of the newly released RetroDuo Portable. This unit is the third of the portable SNES clones, but is third time a charm? I've split this review into two parts - hardware review and games compatibility stress test. I should have the second part up tomorrow. When I do, I'll add it to this thread.
for now, the hardware review

Great video! I can't wait to see you test out the NES game!!! Please post soon. By the way where did you get it and how much did it cost?
Also I heard they might be coming out with a Sega Genesis add on for it? And info on that?
Thanks

I bought mine from www.dascheap.com/ but if you live anywhere outside the continental US, I do not recommend you buy from them. I'm in Canada, and they me jump through a lot of hoops for them to provide them with a written signature and the phone number to my creditcard branch so they could "verify" my identity. I've bought from tons of online sellers and never had to do anything so ridiculous. And then when they did confirm I'm who i say, they charged me over $30 to ship the unit and when it arrived, I had to pay $20.58 additional import taxes. bastards.
Anyway there is a Genesis adapter that's sold separately. its a pretty standard GOAC in every regard except that it uses the SNES as a base for power supply and controls. The video is handled by a completely separate composite video cable that plugs into the device itself. I dont have one because I only have a small library of Genesis games, plus I still have a CDX.

I may get the Genesis adapter, Its cheep at under 20$. If it works in the hand held, Its the ultimate portable.

I power up the trusty old Nomad for this purpose. It would be nice to have a sharper and faster lcd on a portable.
