I won't be getting to any of those series myself, but certainly if someone else wants to take them on, they're welcome to do so.

@AppleQueso - No worries, it's not a huge rush.

I was overdue for this one, and I've got two color choices for everyone to choose from:

Super Mario Bros.

Red, which might go well with the others, or black, which is reminiscent of the U.S. box colors. I'll probably leave the U.S. NES cover variation for someone else to do, particularly if they want to make a whole series of covers with the angled bottom to the art.

Added to the master list on page 1. I'll be doing a couple more SNES covers I want to tackle, and I'm still playing around with an N64 version of this template.

Any NES or SNES requests?

Ow, I really like the red one, can't wait to download it when you put it in the NES folder, love the Japanese artwork  :D

Ask for requests, you've honestly covered my little SNES collection. However I would like to see Tetris for NES since that was a fairly popular game and it's the only remaining game I have in my NES collection. Also hopefully someone will do Super Mario/Duck Hunt and Super Mario/Duck Hunt/World Class Track Meet

Maybe even the cleaning kit for the NES since you did the SNES one already and maybe the Game Genie's for the NES and SNES.

Ask for your N64 template , I found a picture you may wanna use for the back of your Goldeneye cover from the official players guide:

Got the SMB covers uploaded, not sure how I forgot to actually upload them amongst posting them... ::) Thanks for the pic, that'll be handy!

I've toyed around a lot with the different possibilities for N64 - semi-transparent red, placement of the controller/accessory icons, back/front in yellow & blue or full color front or custom color for both. Ultimately, I wound up pretty much back to the simpler look that I've had on both SNES and NES. Some of those ideas would still be cool, but I think I might leave that up to each cover maker to decide.

So I guess...... "Here we gooooo!"

Super Mario 64

What's everyone think? If everyone is good with it I can clean up my PSD for an N64 template...

Oh, where do you find all the little artwork you put on the back, I like it. It fits the N64 and it's uniform to the NES and SNES covers. The drop shadow on the Nintendo logo is a nice touch on the red spine backgrounds.

The only thing I found was the red on the spine is slightly different from the red on the front and back but printed out I bet no one would notice.

Also a problem I have making covers as well, when putting something into a template guide sometimes a layer will show up behind, and in this case the green background layer has created a vertical line from the front red stripe to the top N64 logo on the spine, I have no idea why Photoshop and Fireworks do that but, it's an easy fix just by moving a layer over a tad.

When it comes to the Only For logos, I believe Wiggy has created some vectors to make those look more high res, I believe they would be a great addition to your template since it's high res to begin with. Same with your SNES temp.

I'm interested to see how the Controller, Rumble/Memory and Expansion Pak icons will line up on the front, shouldn't be too much of a problem, but I believe you got it perfect.  :D

I fixed the things you pointed out - good catch. I didn't notice them because the guides were covering up those vertical lines. I also fixed the reds to all be the same shade. Good catch!

It's a little late to change the SNES "Only For" to the vector one, since there have been so many covers made, but I can update the N64 ones. The only minor thing for me is that Wiggy's vector, while awesome, is missing that "paper" texture that runs along the edge of the peeled back part of the "Only For" logo. I might just take the redrawn "Only For" text and arrow and put it over the original to preserve that texture, but keep the crispness.

I'll reupload the fixed version shortly.

Okay it has been re-uploaded. I get most of my Mario-related art from each game's gallery at the Super Mario Wiki. Here's an example: http://www.mariowiki.com/Category:Super_Mario_World_Images . For the other games I scour Google Images or other wikis for those series, and in some cases I have to photoshop my own art, like the ring of orbs on the back of my Pilotwings cover - taken from the front cover art. The art on the back of VS. Super Mario Bros was originally art from Dr. Mario, where Mario and Luigi are playing Dr. Mario, but I replaced the screen with one from VS. Super Mario Bros.

Here's an example of some of the icons:

The Transfer Pak and Expansion Pak are on the left, and the Controller Pak/Rumble Pak go in the middle. The Expansion Pak is yellow because it is important for some games to be able to function (all of these are borrowed from Shenske's original vertical template).

I've got at least 7 or so, along with the 3 or 4 I'm working on right now.

Have you uploaded any of these SNES or NES covers to the site proper yet? So long as they meet quality standards, I can't imagine them being rejected.

Ah works for me. Now are some of the Expansion Pak logos going to be white since some games give you the option to use it to enhance the graphics or add things. Example Perfect Dark would be yellow since you can't play most of the game without the Expansion Pak, Donkey Kong should be yellow since it won't run without it. But games like San Francisco Rush 2049 or Duke Nukem Zero Hour should be white because you can still play the game without the Expansion Pak but there are benefits to using it.

Speaking of the Expansion Pak, Pokemon Stadium 2 detects it, but does it actually do something?

^Pokemon Stadium probably just runs in hi-res mode.

Okay, here's a crazy idea: ...what about Sega?

Would it be possible to make Genesis, 32x, SMS, etc covers in a style like this?

@zakurowrath - I could make a white version, and make the yellow one say "Expansion Pak Required" or something. That way there's both options.

@AppleQueso - Haha, oh boy I've really opened Pandora's box now, haven't I.... I suppose it would be possible to make a matching Genesis, 32X, etc. series. Maybe in place of the single color on the front/spine/back, it could have the striped look from the Genesis, 32X, Saturn, etc., but keep the customizable backgrounds and similar layout. That might be something I'd want to leave to someone else to experiment with for now, since I've just gotten the N64 ready to go.  :P

I might make an attempt to play around with it. I've kinda wanted to find a compromise between the "black grid" look of the older games and the "red stripe" of the later ones. It's no hurry.
