I'll give the non-foaming stuff a whirl, can't hurt ;)

You know me, I'll take pics and post 'em when I get something figured out, for sure.

So far I've cut up a couple of cases, used pop rivets to stick them together, and now I'm just stuck on how to get a sleeve attached.  I know I'll figure out something soon enough...

Good luck! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Time for two of the "lost sequels" to Super Mario Bros.

Here's one I've had ready for a while, except for the cover art. This version is a simpler approach, akin to the alternate Lost Levels cover I made. Generally I won't be making covers for repro/hacked games, unless they are ports or recreations of real Nintendo games (Lost Levels, Star Fox 2, this, Super Mario Bros. Special). I don't know a lot about Vs. Super Mario Bros., but from what I gather it was an officially licensed arcade semi-sequel to Super Mario Bros. that incorporated levels from both the original and 2/Lost Levels. Since it's kind of a "lost SMB game", I think it deserves a cover. I originally wanted to use some kind of old Super Mario Bros art from a book or something, so that it matches the art style of the old NES game art, but until I find one, I'll release this one. http://www.mariowiki.com/Vs._Super_Mario_Bros.

Added to box.

Here's a WIP look at what I'm experimenting with for Super Mario Bros. Special. This is for a repro cart for a hack of SMB that attempts to recreate Super Mario Bros. Special, an officially licensed Super Mario Bros. game developed by HudsonSoft. It had unique levels and even introduced enemies and items not found in the original, like the hammer from Donkey Kong. The hack appears to at least recreate the levels, though it would be nice if someday someone made a more faithful hack that actually included the new enemies and items, and even the color palette, but without the weird screen-scrolling. http://www.mariowiki.com/Super_Mario_Bros_Special

For the cover art I found a pretty decent image of an old Super Mario Bros. board game by Milton Bradley, that had art that fit the style of the time. It's not finished yet, but this is an idea of how it's looking. I still need to replace the text, screens, add back character art, and cleanup the front cover art (maybe add clouds), and I'll probably change the background art & spine color some.

AppleQueso, if you get a chance to try recreating the "Special" logo, you can now see where I intend to put it on the cover.

I recently started a NES collection but I haven't boxed them yet. I'm thinking about going with the fusion style instead of the retail style. Here's what I've got for the NES so far:

Super Mario Bros.
Metal Gear
Metroid
Tennis

I don't have great photoshop skills but I'd love to see you guys take a crack at these! Thanks!

Oh crap I was supposed to do that over the weekend, huh? I've been kinda busy lately, sorry.

I'll get to it when I can and let you know when it's done.
Super GDubs Fighter II Turbo: Championship Edition III:
I'm not really that fantastic with covers and all, I'm kinda stuck with photoshop elements and in the dark about specifics of each game.  I can definitely find great artwork to use for everything though.  I'll look up some artworks to be used for some games I'd like to see then put links up to those works for ya guys.

We definitely need some Killer Instinct, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat cases :)
