I hope this is a typo, but while looking for stuff on eBay, one of the suggestions that came up was this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Castlevania-Dracula-X-Super-NES-1995-/221262135290?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item3384403ffa

The prices for Dracula X have been ridiculous for a while, but this is beyond anything I'd seen.  $3,449.99, really? ???

Okay, now, one of those bullshit VGA-rated games I could see being put up for that much. But this is fucking stupid. I think this person (assuming they even have the actual game to sell) is just going off of the most expensive prices, not realizing the reason WHY some people put up their games and ask for thousands of dollars.

Also, fuck VGA rating in general, and also, fuck people who can justify jacking up their asking price on anything at all just by putting "RARE!" in the item listing, despite the item not being rare at all.

...I beg your pardon.

I thought it was one of those stupid VGA-graded games at first, but then just for curiosity I looked at the listing and it's an open-box game. That's just crazy. I don't think anyone will buy it, but it's annoying seeing these weird, inflated prices.

On another note, is Dracula X even rare? I remember it being pretty common back in the day. I know the prices are inflated because people want it to fill their collections, but even $200 - $300 is too much. It's not even that great, to be honest. The PC Engine version is better (and cheaper.)

Asking price is almost no indication of a game's value. Selling price is.

And I'll agree with the anti-VGA rating. Why in the fuck would I ever want a game that I could never play?

Kindly stop bashing VGA people I know it's not for everybody. There are lots of collectors who enjoy having vga'd games. I have about 60 myself mostly n64.

Having a game ranked by the VGA for your own personal collection is one thing. If that's what you want to do with your games, that's your business. But to have the game ranked by the VGA for the sole purpose of jacking up the price of the game? That's a problem. It inflates the price of the game, especially games that are already hard to come by, simply because someone else thought it was "of high quality." I'm not interested in your ranking, and really, neither is the seller. It's just an excuse to milk more money out of the consumer. Why should I have to pay more for a copy of a game that you had ranked, a service I had no interest in? I know if I were to recieve a game in that plastic casing with whatever number grading it got, I would immediately remove that casing and trash it, because it serves no purpose for me outside of making sure the game was secure during delivery.

Yes, youll pay more for a vga'd game.  You'll also pay more for a factory sealed game than a boxed game,  more for a good box than a shitty box,  more with a manual than without,  more for a good cart than a scruffy cart.

It's essentially a different market -  If its not at your collecting level, don't buy it.  I'm fed up with hearing about the VGA.

Holy shit.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SNES-Complete-Collection-of-Super-Nintendo-Games/181180273703

Wow, my collection is nothing compared to that, lol. That's just under $18 per game average with shipping, so the price isn't really that crazy considering that all the rare games are in there.

That price is absurd in my opinion considering 90% aren't worth 10 bucks.

You're probably right.  ;D I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a complete set; too many games I don't care about.
