I agree with his message 90% of the time, but sometimes the delivery is too shrill and squeaky. He could curse less and settle down, yeah.

Am I the only one who is sorta annoyed by this guy?  He's like too "on" for my taste.

No.  No you're not.

The '90s metal band look isn't helping me take him any more seriously either.  I'm not one to judge based solely on appearance, but that look coupled with the over-the-top intensity just make him hard to watch and regard as anything more than an angry basement dwelling game nerd :/

to be fair tho, most youtube/internet folks are pretty bad. before i learned to like people like nostalgia critic, jim sterling and avgn i had to accept that they were absolute amateurs and find things to like about their opinions/presentations. whenever i'm watching another new one of these amateurs, like any of their buddies they like to shove into their videos, it's really kinda cringeworthy, but you could probably learn to appreciate those as well.

As a lifelong metal fan I can honestly say that I am embarrassed by 99% of metal fans.

I like the AVGN (but I like James Rolfe more than the AVGN character, if that makes sense?) and watch Spoony's videos too. But you have to remember that most people who do reviews do not have training as an actor or a degree in speech communications - I studied it in university, but I still don't feel comfortable in front of a camera - and therefore can appear bumbling and stiff in front of a camera. But I think a certain amount of .. should I say amateurish production values? is the charm of internet reviewing, since anyone can start doing it. There are some internet shows that have really good set-ups and quality production, though.

I like AOS because he's usually pretty quick to deliver gaming news, and I tend to agree with what he says. He rambles though. I can understand being excited for something, or angry, but something that should take 5 minutes if you're going in depth takes him 10-15 minutes. He tries too hard to be over the top when it's not necesary, and he weaves it into his points, so it's not like you can fast forward through it all.

He can be funny sometimes, but sometimes I read the title of the video and realize I got all my information right there.

I don't know why I even bother looking at ebay. Snes prices are madness! *sigh, I'm never going to complete the want list.

Very cool, but the price seems a tad high, and I do that sort of crap or for a living.

It started off at 99 cents, so really it's the bidders that made it so expensive. It is very nice though.

I borrowed my friend's launch 60GB PS3 for about a year until I just moved and had to return it.  I need my Blu-Ray player, and there's a ton of games I still wanna play!

I just won:

Also picked up TLoZ: A Link to the Past and Super Mario World + All Stars last week for ~$20 each as my first SNES games!

On a sad note my wife is way better than me at 2D Mario games...she's kicking my ass.
