Finally found a Majesco Game Gear. Sadly It was part of a large lot (13 games, case, etc)
So I ended up paying $44 shipped for it....buuut  I had ebay bucks. So I actually paid like $29 shipped for it ;)

I hate when people use quotation marks for no reason at all.

His "used" system that plays "cartridges".

Yeah, for sure!

I've been reading up on em a bit lately since I'm trying to mod one.  The big benefit is a better screen and none of the capacitor issues, right?

Yep, less screen blur and they were manufactured in 2001 so the capacitors shouldn't be an issue.

Besides that the only real difference is they're not compatible with gg tv adapter. Lol

Which is moot anyway since broadcast has moved to digital, rendering it a useless pile of collectible junk ;)

Got the game gear yesterday. Works almost flawlessly - Cart slot needs cleaned.
Think I'm gonna swap the case for another GG though. Hopefully its a simple swap.

There's somehow dirt behind the screen protector and there's something rattling inside the case.
Also the Majesco GG doesn't have the threads on the back so any attachments that screw on can't be used.

The screen and sound work pretty awesome compared to any other GG I own though. :)

So now all I'm waiting for is wiggy to get up an running, and sell me the GG light mod he's working on =P
Thought about doing the 2 LED mod real quick, but the pics wiggy showed me on CAG look a lot cleaner.

Edit: decided to Keep the Majesco case. Bit harder to swap cases than I thought. I could do it, just don't feel like it this morning.
The rattle was the speaker. The speaker mount was busted, so it and the speaker were moving around. (Fixed - hot glue)
I am going to try and take the brass nut off a tore up GG and install it in the Majesco.

Edit 2: Got the brass piece in for attachment and its all back together ^_^
(its held in by pressure, Used a drill press to press to nut in, still put a dap of glue on it.)

Stumbled on to this game when looking for Far East of Eden imports.

The art reminds me of Earth Bound, but I cant find any info out about it.  Has anyone played this one before.

Well, GameFaqs says it's an action title, which may or may not be a good thing based on whether you we're expecting an RPG or not.

You've got me curious now too. Buy it and tell us about it ;D

Now we only need Wiggy to replicate this and make the SP removable!

Also, I guess I am a bad person  :(
Selling my NES covers and cases: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290787347177

I am only selling them because I have found an alternative and gave credit where credit is due (not selling these from a "store" perspective, only selling to "get rid of".

Well at that starting price I see nothing wrong.

You're just recouping your material costs.

Only if you start shill bidding it gets not OK.

@smooooooooth - that SP is pretty awesome. Almost looks like DK bongos. I feel like the GBC would work better though because of the lack of shoulder buttons. If GBA games were more arcade-like, then I think that would be a killer mod.

Also, I'll chip bid your auction so you get teh maximumz moneyz ;)

I'm tempted by the cases, I have not cased up my NES games yet, but I think I lack funds and space.
