I love that eBay made everyone change their password (only time I've seen them make me do so in 15+ years) and of course they make no mention of a security breach.  Riiiiiight, just make us all change our passwords for no good reason. I change mine every month, which was about 2 weeks ago, so it sure wasn't necessary for me to do so unless there was some bullshit happening on their end.

TDIRunner:

I also received an email from ebay telling me to reset my password, however, they also mentioned the security breach in my email.

--- Quote ---To help ensure customers' trust and security on eBay, I am asking all eBay users to change their passwords.

Here's why: Recently, our company discovered a cyberattack on our corporate information network. This attack compromised a database containing eBay user passwords.

What's important for you to know: We have no evidence that your financial information was accessed or compromised. And your password was encrypted.

I saw a note somewhere that said if i used the same password on other websites to change those passwords as well. Obviously they got our passwords but hopefully not our bank info.

As I understand it and from everything that I've read about the eBay breach...  Passwords, addresses, and personal info was at risk, but NOT any financial information.  Not sure how true that is, but that's the story they're apparently putting out.
