After reading about the genesis of the project here

http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=456.msg8701.0

and even though I don't own a TurboGrafx-16 or PC Engine, I thought I'd try my hand at a TG-16 template.

And here are the results:

Template

Military Madness

I'm working on an idea for the PC Engine template, but there is a severe lack of good game scans on the internet. I'll post something when I get a better idea on how to proceed.

Tell me what you think!

  • ...and that's the bottom line
Looking good so far. I like the retro look. Maybe you and ugcluke009 could join forces. Although he had a different approach with his half-height cases it is probably a good idea to exchange artwork.

I've still got some tweeks to make, and like I said I have almost nothing when it comes to the PCEngine side of things.

Nice work lumberjack but maybe you could find a way to show a little more(or bigger) artwork on the front and back and less black/white....?

Looks a little bit empty now.....

That's actually how most of the original TG16 games were packaged

Weren't the TG16 games packaged in jewel cases like their jap counterparts?

So the artwork was all over the cover wasn't it? Except for the back of course....

Not all of the original TurboChips, or HuCards as the were known in Japan, came in cd cases, some in jewel cases, some in boxes. Hell, even the Turbo CD games sometimes came in huge packages on occasion.

Here's another game attempt

Okay, here is an updated version.

My only problem is that I can't decide between the white front logo or the color front logo.

What do you guys think?

HuCard Template - White Logo

CD Template - Color logo

the template looks great, i really like the retro look!

i also don't know much at all about the turbo gfx 16.

I personally like the white template you made as apposed to the color version.

My vote goes for the white template.

I would be happy to upload the few scans I have if one of the mods will put up a TG-16 section. I would love to have covers for all these games.

I'm guessing that white is the consensus?

I can do either and I may include both in the template just in case.

Still working on a PC Engine version but I don't have much to go on.

Seeing as how we have some ideas for the TG16 just thought I would offer up my PC-FX template.

BrandsoftheWorld.com has high res logos for the TG16 and PC Engine
