Games on a Flash Drive: Cover and Case Idea
kytim89:
I was not aware that those other topics exsisted, sorry. What I had in mind was if retail games themselves were able to be played directly off a flash drive/SD card and then a cover be made for that device. For example, Dead Space 2 is bought on PSN or XBL and then stored on a flash drive to be played. A case for that flash drive would then have the Dead Space 2 cover on the shelf.
Are there any cases that can hold a flash drive like a retail case holds a disc or cartridge? How about an SD card?
Here is kind of case that holds flash drives:

I have never seen one of these up close, so I am not sure how it would look with a cover.

Not that I know of, but creating something to hold the flash drive in place should not be hard, maybe foam with cutout for it.
And for SD cards you can glue that little case they come in inside the case maybe.

Here are some really good sites with cases that hold flash drives, and SD cards:

If the case for holding the flash drives is complete, how will the flash drives be differentiated from each for each game? How can they be labeled?

What if you could store and play single games on a flash drive and then put that flash drive into a small case with the game's respective cover as if it were a retail game? The only issue would be labeling each individual flash drive/SD card with the game's cover. Overall, this looks to be a nice project for me to pursue and I wish to discuss ideas with everyone on this forum.

Say like Wiiware on SD cards?

Yep, I think this is the topic I was thinking:

This is exactly like that except it gives you something physical to put into the cases and store the games.
