Probably.

If so, this is not a bad site to buy this stuff from. Look at the prices for these flash drives:

http://www.premiumusb.com/product/premium-usb-flash-drive_121_31.htm

Yeah the prices aren't bad.
But to get that cheap you must buy minimum of 50 of them.

I contacted those people to see if the chart was correct and I will post their responcse after I get it.

These flash drives would do the trick if you could label them with the logos of each game:

I contacted the people who run that site and they seemed to teel that it is not fifty hard drives for the said price on that chart.

For example: The $37.29 is just for one flash drive and the multiply that times how many you want and you get the total price.

So, $37.29 times fifty equals $1864.50.

Needless to say, this is going to be an expensive project. However, we do not need a hold bunch of 32 GB flash drives anyway. Just ones big enough to hold the data of each game.

I meant to mention this earlier, the real reason I am doing this is for the Wii U. Although it is unconfirmed, it appears as though the Wii U will be able to use external storage devices like flash drives and HDDs. Now, if everything goes according to plan then what if something like Steam were available and you could buy games like Dead Space 2 and Batman: Arkham City, store them on a flash drive and then play them directly off said hard drive? Well, this projects main goal is to return to cartridge gaming, but in a cheaply manner that does not forfeit quality.

Yeah that was what I was saying whole time.

Are my eyes decieving me or is it possible to buy fifty 32 GB from this site for $37.69?

2500 will cost $26.99?
And if you want 5,000+ you just call them?

 ;D

The pricing goes that if you buy 50 one will cost $37.69.
If you buy 2500 one will cost $26.99

 ;)

How would 50 drives cost 37.69 and 2500 drives cost less (only 26.99)  ;)

The chart tells that more drives you buy less they are each.

If only I could find a way to label these flash drives with the logo of each game:

http://www.premiumusb.com/product/data-card-usb-flash-drive_327_53.htm

Then I would use them inside these cases:

http://www.premiumusb.com/product/custom-flash-pac-usb-packages_218_66.htm

Then I would request a cover to fit those cases.

However, there is an alternative to this plan:

Use these smaller flash drives without the label:

http://www.premiumusb.com/product/premium-usb-flash-drive_121_31.htm

Then buy these adhesive pads:

http://www.premiumusb.com/product/flash-pac-adhesive-dock_499_62.htm

Then buy a series of cassette tape holders and request covers for them:

@ Arseen

Do those green cases come in different colors.

How would we go about putting stickers on those flash drives?

Can we but any of those flash drives in bulk? This is what I am most confused about.

I think I've seen orange and clear ones

How would we go about putting stickers on those flash drives?

Print small enough stickers
For extra hold use clear laquer.

Those are bulk prices per drive.
For final price multiply unit price by number of units.
The more you buy the lower the unit price will be.

Anyone wanting to start a Xbox Live Arcade or Virtual Console/Wiiware cover project could always figure out how much megabytes each file takes up and then buy the cheapest flash drives in bulk. I am currently hunting for a website that has the file sizes and blcoks for all the online services and retail titles for each major console.

Xbox 360: Try Xbox.com
Exaple: http://marketplace.xbox.com/fi-FI/Product/All-Zombies-Must-Die/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258411204
Scroll down and it tells the size.

That list seems to be for Disc games, and those can't be stored to flash drive.

They might eventaully in the fututre. I have question, is the install size of those game the total amount of the game's data on the disc or just a part of it?

Here is a list of virtual console file sizes:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/2000407-wii-virtual-console-and-wiiware/52940144

There are eight MBs for one block, so just divide the total number of blocks for each game by eight and that should give you an idea of how big the file is in megabytes.

I think it's the size of the actual game.

And nice list you found.
