I am just looking into buying Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D... Is it true you CANNOT erase saved data?  Meaning you can never start the game again from scratch?  They seriously need to re-release this game!  That is fucked up!

Nice way of preventing the selling of the game used.

They did the same with GBA Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo

I have never been so pissed about a game!  I'm done with Resident Evil unless they re-release this!  Un-fucking-beleivable!!!!!  Even if you buy it NEW you are screwed because you will never be able to play it from the beginning again!

That is not even remotely funny.  I am going to call, write, do online reviews, everything in my power to get this re-released.  I hope others will boycott RE games too!  I collect them all, but now fuck it!  If I can't enjoy the series over and over it is not worth a penny to me.

Actually in Mercenaries 3D, you can play any level you want after it has been beaten. Yes its bullshit, but yea thats how it is.
My LPs Channel. Currently playing Legend of Zelda: Windwaker HD, Metal Gear Solid 2, and Resident Evil 2.

Sorry for twisting the knife.
Hopefully they either re-release the game or release erasing tool.
But then of course the erasing tool only works on the first console the game was released... Again redusing the re-sell value.

So it possiooble to replay the game sort of like from the scratch?

Re-releasing the game is the only decent thing they can do and they should offer replacements for those who have the current version.

From what I understand, yea. Its a pain in the ass, alot of spastics seem to be working at capcom these days.

From my understanding, the only thing it really saves are the high scores (and I think someone once said achievements, though I don't think that was correct as I don't recall any DS or 3DS games having achievements. But you can play the whole way through from beginning to end without worry. It's not a one time play. Just don't let anyone better than you play, lest you lose your high score for all eternity.

i heard about this issue before. i heard capcom executives said that it was not necessary to replay the game. I 've never played it,
but its like restarting an MMO or something, but pointless according to capcom.

This really isn't anything new.  Several GBA titles kept high scores and such in part of the memory that wasn't typically user accessible.

No one complained then...?

If I understand correctly the problem is that the game has only one save file.

Once you have cleared the game, you cannot start the game from beginning completely.

You can replay the missions, but that's not the same as playing the game again from start to finish.

Have I understood right?

Driving games probably. In Mario Kart I think you can reset the lap records with button code, F-zero too.
But If I have understood correctly the problem is not that you can't reset the high scores, but the fact that you cannot reset the save state (progress in game) and start ciomletely from the scratch.
