Ok, it now appears that 3 of my systems are giving me this Border problem where the screen is surrounded by a border on all four sides.. I cannot take it anymore.  I use a flat screen HDTV and I must keep that.  Is there any single device I can buy that would upscale the video quality and remove the borders so I can play my NES, Genesis, and Master System on an HDTV?  Price is not a problem...  I just don't want two TVs.  Please provide links to Ebay auctions or other websites.

What were you using before? Original systems for the 3?

I've always used them.. not sure what you mean by "before"..  I just can't handle the horrific picture display any longer.  They are the same consoles I've always had.

Well there is the Retron 3 console that supports SNES, Genesis and NES all in one console. The master system I know there is a 3rd party model that works well, I just can't remember the name. To my knowledge there is no console that supports NES, Genesis and Master System in one system.

its normal. Basically the TV is trying to deal with the aspect ratio of the games, and since those old systems don't run at 480i, the TV has an issue dealing with the low resolution and aspect ratio. The Genesis is the worst offender as it has over scan.

its normal, if it bothers you, pick up a CRT at goodwill.

You need a upscaler like the one talked about here:
http://retro.nintendolife.com/news/2011/04/guides_upscaling_your_retro_consoles_for_hdtv_sets

I have never used one,  but I remember a couple of people talking about them here before.  I think grumbleduke, and maybe tiktektak - but I could be wrong.

Edit:  this one sounds like the mutts nuts!  Not sure on pricing - but guessing expensive!

Edit2:  yup expensive:

I live in the USA, I think that is only available in the UK, and Amazon of UK will not allow sellers to ship to the US  :(

There is an issue with that device, it doesn't input composite, just CGA through VGA

Ok, I found a solution, a little expensive but it should work out.

http://www.amazon.com/LENKENG-LKV362-Converter-up-scales-including/dp/B005HKD8J8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1326674443&sr=8-2

It accepts SCART and up scales to 1080p, since SCART wasn't really used by us yanks, I doubt anyone would have a scart cable for any of their systems, so you would want one of those. For Nintendo systems Gamecube and below, you need a gamecube scart cable as SNES and N64 Scart cables are wired weird and wont work right on US SNES and N64 systems.

if you don't want to get specific cables, you can get an AV to SCART adapter for much cheaper but I bet the quality won't be as good.

I have no idea what any of that means.  All I want is one device that I can plug all of my systems into, and have a cord go to the TV.  I don't know what scart is and all that jazz.  All my systems have composite cables.  I need to be able to plug those into the upscaler and then have a cord from the upscaler go to the tv.

I cant find an upscaler that goes straight AV to VGA or HDMI, you need to deal with scart, luckilly there exist AV to Scart.

Scart is a common interface used in the UK and other PAL regions in lieu of Composite. SCART offers a superior quality compared to Standard AV.

But there is no output for anything labeled "SCART" on the NES, SNES, Genesis or Master System.  I live in the US.

Will this product help me?  Please read the description carefully.  It uses Xbox and Playstation as examples, but nothing as old as the NES:

Partly correct.

"Normal" scart is the same as composite.
RGB-scart is superior.

But there is no output for anything labeled "SCART" on the NES, SNES, Genesis or Master System.  I live in the US.

to connect NES to scart you need this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scart-SVHS-3-x-RCA-Phono-Converter-box-TV-Adaptor-/170703556576?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item27beb98fe0
It's the same as using the three RCA plugs, they just go thru the scart.

THIS DOES NOT MAKE THE SIGNAL RGB

How about this device?  Is it my understanding that I would plug my Composite cables coming out of the NES into this thing, then it would display in HD?

Nope.

NES outputs only composite (and RF).
To use this you'l need someting that outputs Component signal either thru red/green/blue RCAs or VGA.
