Ahoy!

Was looking into buying a Super Gameboy for SNES. The big deciding factor will be, can fit inside a UGC?

Also to that effect, I know you are supposed to use smaller DS cases for GB, GBA etc... I am curious if there is a
way to allow them to fit in a UGC, which of course would keep a display case uniform in size.

I was considering buying some cardboard sidings, and making inserts for them to rest in, which would work fine
except for the ugly brown slab when you open the case.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions would be a great help!

Yes, it fits inside UGC.

You need to remove most of the tabs inside, but it just barely fits. I have my own SGB in a UGC.

We've got a bunch of UGC-sized game gear cases. I don't know if anyone's talked about doing UGC sized game boy cases...

I was gonna say: yeah but does DS case fit in UGC.
But then realised that Super Gameboy is bigger than DS case, so yeah it fits.

Ya I didn't think there would really be a demand for them as they fit very nicely inside DC cases. Its easier for me to justify
the collection to my wife if it all looks neat and uniform lmao.

The search continues!!!!

I guess you could use a dvd case for gameboy games. It would probably hold six or so games (after you removed the place for the disc)  and you might still have to use cardboard to hold them in?

If you place them in a UGC case , do let us know how many can fit and if you have pics I would love to see them.

Also I read somewhere on here that someone was using audio cassette cases.

Actually fitting 4 games in one case would make sense as the normal max is 4 games that you can link.

Or maybe fitting whole series in 1 case like Mario/Wario Land games, Metroid games, Turtles games...

But then again Faceball would still need 4 cases...

Also I read somewhere on here that someone was using audio cassette cases.

Yup, the Super Gameboy does indeed fit in a standard UGC, but as others have mentioned, you'll have to remove a lot of the internal tabs, by hand, in order to get it to fit inside.

Here is a picture of a UGC I modded myself for the SNES SGB:

It 's a tight fit, but it works.
It took me about 30 to 45 minutes, to remove the tabs with a Dremel.

Nah, I went slow, so as to prevent grinding through the case,
as well as to prevent super-heated (melted) plastic from flying onto my skin.  :o

At the time I did that mod, I only had a single-speed (high RPM) Dremel, and a Conical Grinder bit, to work with.

The end result turned out pretty good, and I only got burned a couple of times...  :P

You should have used end cutters.

You should have used end cutters.
Quoted For Truth.

I don't yet own a pair of End Cutters, myself, but I have used a pair of Diagonal Pliers in the past, on other plastic products.

These suckers tend to make some plastics crack, or split, if you aren't careful.

Do End Cutters have the same issues with them: making the case crack, or split, if you aren't careful?

Probably.

But they should not crack the case if you just cut without bending. It's not the cutting but bending that cracks. ;)

I got a small crack making mine, but when I printed the insert it hides the crack.

It took longer, but I used a really sharp knife to make the case for my genesis game genie.  no cracks though.

Ok so I just finished making a insert to hold gameboy games inside a UGC. It's not the prettiest thing in the world but it fits snug and keeps everything on my shelf the same size lol
