Things got a bit hectic and it took some time but now I'd like to bring the good news into focus.
achievement unlocked: get Cover Guru status
Doom and Dante_Ali have been admitted into the holy Cover Guru halls :)
I'm sure they helped out quite some people with their covers and the dedication and effort they spent creating them.
Good to have you with us guys and keep up the good work!

Not really. Someone who makes a lot of covers would get better over time, thus being a guru at making covers. Just look at my first cover, Yu-Gi-Oh Worldwide (http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?game_id=2584) up close and you'll see I made a few minute mistakes I wouldn't have made now. IIRC it's slanted on the back by 4 or so pixels. Not big enough to change, but it's still not something I'd do if I made it now.

The title of cover guru is awarded to people who are constantly helping to make the site grow bigger and bigger with high quality covers of all sorts....
So it's not every big contributor but people who share their time and spirit with us in making covers for every game ever created....
Ok maybe that's utopic(to have all covers off every system) but I hope you understand my point....

That is kind of the point. Regular contribution + elevated duties creates ownership of the project. When you let people "own" what they are working on, they tend to do it to the best of their abilities. With the standards that we impose on artwork that goes on the site, this works very well.

Congrats, I just kinda wish I had any cover making abilities :P I rarely have any time actually, that's why I'm never around
