It is unfortunate that the upload section has been down for so long. More unfortunate is that we do not know when it will be back online.
For the time being we have created an alternate site were you can all upload images thus eliminating the need for BOX.NET and the such. This new site can also be used to make requests via a ticketing system and it will also host the list of current covers.
Right now the upload and request sections are up and the game lists will be coming soon.
The URL of the new site is http://www.thecoverprojectwiki.net. People can browse certain areas but in order to upload or make a request they will need to register.
Thank you all fro your attention

Cool!!! I start dumping my "Shadow Cover Project" there (Vertical US SNES covers collection collected from the site).
These are covers published in topics or directly sent to me, not yet on the site.
None are completely done by me, altough on some I've done heavy editing and cleaning or even creating stuff from scratch.
PM'ed Vt102 folder containing them too.

As said in private very nicely done vt.
If everyone uses this new site the right way it could be a real alternative to our old upload system and the request forum/wiki.

So is this supposed to effectively replace the main site or is it just going to be a folder to dump images into that the cover admins clean out every once in a while?

To replace the site... Id say: HELL NO!!!
It's just easier way to manage files than all users having separate upload accounts, and keep track of raws.

How does the "ticketing" system work?

Once you submit a ticket, the site will sort it and post it in a list. Any person willing can then view the lists and create covers to fill in the request.
Once the cover is added to the site, an admin will close the ticket as completed.

So its a way to organize the request confusion....awesome!! Ill gladly help out with covers anyway i can!

So it's the latter then more or less. Just a replacement for our old upload button.
If this sticks, perhaps we can make the 'upload a cover' link just redirect to this?

We could, there is only one thing.. no ftp access.
The way Tikiwiki works is that it stores the images in a unique file name instead of it's original. So FTP downloads are out.
The good thing is that the web interface allows you do download the files in bulk as a ZIP. So the way I thought this could work is that admins with FTP access to TCP can download files from TCPW and then upload them to this site.

FYI:
I have transfers the 1st batch of covers from TCPW to TCPs folders. Some RAW and some Ready.
I did not take a look at the covers themselves, I'll leave that to a willing admin.

I have tried to register twice at the wiki, but have not recieved any activation emails.
