Dreamcast DVD Cover Thread
I have huge collection of dreamcast games and i plan to case all of them. ;D
It will be a combination of my own created covers and other user's covers reformatted to my template.
MY STYLE:
What i try to go for with the Dreamcast DVD covers as well as all the covers i make is a rereleased look. The Dreamcast games were never released in DVD case form (in the USA) so all my covers are themed in a way that SEGA just recently decided to rerelease the dreamcast game. That means new company logos, new company merger logos and new artwork. just to let you know ;)
FYI: All my covers i make will be in the NTSC-U (usa) template, even though some are NTSC-J (japan).
Upon request when cover is completed, i can easily (for most covers) switch it to the PAL and NTSC-J Template for you. :D

(this is a touchy subject, if needed i can remove)
Emulation is not a touchy subject at all. If Japanese companies like Hamster (responsible for Konami PS2 retro compilations) can rip off the MAME team's hard work without abiding by the licence, then I think it's alright for us to make custom covers for emulators. :)

No No, not for all regions. white spine (and white back) for US, the rest i don't care about since 90% of my games are american.
Also: I request that my name not be placed next to the "white" template. (idk Just Put Artist as "Community")
The template i submitted is lumberjack's template with different color arrangements. The only real work i did to the template is cleaned up each individual icon on the back and rearranged the layers.
I've been upfront about this the whole time.
I just don't want anyone to think that i "stole" lumberjacks template in anyway.

thats just the default color from the artwork i got. I guess the artist felt that it makes sonic look more sadistic. if you would like i can change the color of the eyes to green.

It was a test, sorry i should have clarrified that a little better.
I was just experimenting with the other regions.
I don't even intend to make Pal or Jap covers (as stated in my first post).

I bet Soul Calibur is good, but SC2 is on Gamecube if I ever have a craving for it.

Shenmue, Power Stone (well, there's the PSP I suppose), Virtual-On Orotario Tangram.
A lot of first-party Dreamcast games have been ported to other platforms, so if you're not too concerned about whether or not they live up to the originals you're golden.
To this day I still think Soul Calibur looks better, plays better and feels better than Soul Calibur 2. But that's just me.

i honestly haven't played the dreamcast version for more than 5 minutes so i didn't know. I just assumed it was the same as the ps2 version.
i'll fix that up hopefully before i go the work today

Yeah. Blue Shift was originally made for the DC version (although it got ported to the PC when the DC version got canceled). Decay was only in the PS2 ver.
Also, you're uploading these to this site, right? Because Imageshack downscales everything to some really low dpi.

I like the MvC2 cover and I just noticed that red or orange amaray cases would go very well with your template. Good for further setting the DC DVD cases apart from the other DVD cases on the shelf. Nice.

i used the back of the ps2 version of the game that was uploaded.
I'll try and adjust some settings to make it more crisp.
EDIT: Actually i'm going to reupload all three of them, i've noticed something to fix in each :(

My only other critique, if you will, is the logo on the Sonic Adventure covers. For some reason, using the SA2 logo bugs me. I have a high-rrez version of the original log if you want it.

i really appreciate that, but i really like the SA2 logo. I didn't like sega's choice on the first SA logo (brown border >:( )
i understand why it bugs you though i just like the newer logo thats all. :)
maybe i'll take you up on the offer some other time if i decide to make some more alt covers for SA.

FYI: the next covers i will be working on will be the emulation covers (if i can get some good high res logos).
I will resume work on retail covers after that. :)

The only sports games that I play and buy are wrestling and soccer games with an occasional golf game here and there. I plan to buy some of the Wii's sports games though :)

yes, but its not just the spine. Its completely a different template, the cover that is up on the site doesn't match all of my newer covers.
I uploaded the old one some months ago right before the template war took place.
Also, I changed the logo to look more like the actual marathon logo. :)
Side by side the newer one (in the previous post) looks much better.

You have to admit, the new Simpsons cover looks so much better than the green one. maybe it's because I'm colorblind but yellow Simpsons on a bright green background really hurt my eyes (no kidding :D)

this may be too nit-picky but could you change the colour of Bart's shirt to Red instead of blue? I mean the cover has him wearing a blue shirt and the back has a Red Shirt. If you don't want to, its cool! The cover is still great!

this one was a little more difficult. i tried to keep it close to the original cover.
i'm not sure if i like it yet.
i tried to do a little artistic "logo on logo" on the front cover because the original logo was too big.

i was looking for some better pictures for the ufc cover. most of the still frames i found were pretty low res. i'm not totally happy with this cover so far but its a wip. :)

You could upload the covers which you think are borderline to megaupload or the likes. That way anyone who needs the cover could grab it and doesn't have to wait for it to be added (which in this case is unlikely :) )

i just uploaded it to the site so there was a link for people to download it temporarily.

There is no GC template. It sucks too, because the GC doubled the DC sales! :'( May I reccomend using the custom Pac-Man Vs. cover as a template? That's what I did. Remember that custom cover=not having to stick to a template.

TIME! a lot of it!
(on photoshop)
i found high resolution pictutes of the sky at night and during the day.
(i messed with the color properties of the sky full of stars for a while.)
I rotated them 45 degrees, set them next to each other and merged them. I took the smudge tool and smudged the picture in the middle for at least 30 minutes to get the correct fade effect.
thats the short version of what i did :)

i really don't want to take credit for your covers because i have not done much to modify them.
all my dreamcast covers use the same legal information and barcode (most people don't look at that).
Warlock made a good point a few months ago, the text is so small on the back information that it is illegible (for the average printer) when it is printed.
(Please lets not talk about "accurate to the retail packaging" because that is one of the reasons the war started and i don't want to dig that up)
i love the covers that you made so much that i wanted to add them to my library (which is all white) and they don't fit :( .
i converted them a while back and decided to share them with the community that might be in the same boat as i am.
in the end look at it this way, more covers for everyone.
edit: i don't know if you noticed but i modified my template to have both spine/back color options. All the DC covers i have done lately and in the future will have both all white and orange spine/black options. you might want to look into it :)

Just moved back to college and got most of my stuff set up. now time for an update. :)
These covers NEVER were released on the dreamcast, they were all emulated.
Because of that they will not be uploaded to the site.
I will most likely set up a filefront profile and release them that way.
Also, in time if people want i will port them to my Playstation Template.
I used the Final Fantasy covers for the PSP as my ispiration and ran with it.

Yes i used the most recent released logos for a "Rerelease" feel for the covers including some brand new logos for FFV & FFVI.
I am also working on the bleemed PS1 covers too (FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX) but the logos don't look good in this style. I can show you what i mean if you would like.

Good job on the WWF Royal Rumble cover! The game was very dissappointing though, the graphics were only so-so and it was pretty glitchy, good job nonetheless.

my reasoning is that i probably won't make that many.

one of the reasons i didn't recase my pal games in a DVD case was that i didn't like how different the NTSC boxes looked - now you've given me some food for thought! I LOVE IT!!

Well, that's mainly because there's really no other option :) Most people make US covers and don't bother with PAL covers. Personally I like the thick and wide PAL DC cases but if you have your collection lined up on a shelf it looks like ass with JAP and US imports in between. If there were PAL DVD covers it would look a lot better with all the cases having the same design and only the upper spine being in different colors depending on what region your game is.

Don't saddle yourself with too much work. Keep the English on the back for the PAL covers that should be enough. In pretty much all parts of Europe English is the first language you learn in school after your native language. Keep it English and if someone wants Portuguese text on the back he can request it and provide you with a translation :)

Homebrew: is not necesarelly all original. Some people have made ports of games made for other systems and categorize them as "Homebrewed". In the case of DC this is most of the homebrewed games.

I can see that a link to the iso of a so called homebrew disc might be a lawsuit waiting to happen - but a cover 'could ' be claimed as nothing more than a concept, and is certainly no different from a custom cover that uses copyrighted logos/graphics/materials

Mr. Karate (the guy dragging Ryu) was not in Capcom Vs SNK, he was only in SVC Chaos: SNK Vs. Capcom, which wasn't released for DC. It was only for Neo Geo, PS2 and Xbox.

If it were up to me then yes, I'd choose all blue for PAL. But I guess most people would disagree. Living in Europe I have mostly PAL games with a few US and JPN games mixed in between. If I decided to recase my collection, the way the covers are right now with an orange upper spine or white spine for US games, a red upper spine for JPN games and a blue upper spine for PAL games are the best solutions for uniformity. That way your import games have all the same style with just the upper spine portion being different depending on the region. If there was an all blue spine the games would look like ass on the shelve next to US or JPN games. For someone with PAL games only I guess all blue would be very sexy though.
Nice work on the CVS covers. If you don't like Dan (and shame on you if you don't ;) ) then put Joe Higashi on the front. He was the other added character.

I like your PAL template for Soul Calibur. I'm not a big black and white fan so the artwork is not my cup of tea but that's just my personal taste and by no means criticism.
The second version of your Vampire Chronicles cover is way better than the grayscaled one. Not only does it look absolutely great, it just suits the game better.

I don't have any artwork of Kalik, i think you are refering to Seigfried in the upper right. I understand why you would think a uniform CG look would work better or maybe uniform sketched characters.

Many times with Japanese DC covers i don't have any raws to work with. I assure you the text isn't broken, i had someone who can read japanese on my floor help me out.
Yeah its a template thing with the sega logo at the botom. I am well aware that generally Japanese covers have the developer logo at the bottom of the spine but its a custom cover with a custom uniform template. We are trying to keep all the Dreamcast games uniform throughout all regions.

Soul Calibur may not be a Sega game but its on a Sega console.
(just check out how many nintendo logos there are on a Gamecube case for example)
About the Sega logo location: 1/2 of the PAL DC covers i come across have the sega logo under the dreamcast swirl. So once again just keeping it uniform for all the PAL covers.

It may be a very slight detail, but it seems a little off to me that the Dan cover has SNK characters in the background while the Haohmaru one has Capcom characters. Other than that though, they look great and I think you did a really good job on them.

i actually did that on purpose, i know kind of weird.
(that way it goes 1=snk/snk, 2=capcom/snk, 3= snk/capcom, 4= capcom/capcom)
i already have cvs, cvs pro & cvs2 uploaded on the sight anyway. :)

Yeah its loads of fun, i never play it for too long though.
The disc puts too much ware on the dreamcast and it will actually end up ruining you laser (over very long use).
Worms World Party does the same thing only ruins it faster. :(

its the way the dreamcast reads the information. It bounces back and forth from the inside of the disc to the outside constantly (as opposed to the information being right next to each other like most games).
Two friends of mine have had their dreamcast laser go out after playing a bunch of Woms World Party.
You can hear the laser constaly shift, its lounder than normal, Chu chu Rocket isn't as bad but eventually it could destroy your laser. :'(
The local game store stopped selling worms for that reason. The owner told me that people kept complaining and returning the games for "breaking their console". They could have just put a new laser in but that can get annoying.

Looked all over for a Tech Romancer cover for a while, and finally decided I'd give it a shot myself. The GGX cover is just a copy-paste of the PS2 cover I scanned with small edits; I didn't know that Shenske had already made one until I found this thread. (It never showed up when I searched up "Guilty Gear X" in the search bar, so I just assumed it didn't exist.) I personally use slim-line versions of these, but it's just a matter of making the spine thinner.

Your Tech Romancer cover seems to use a low rez pic for the logo. If i were you i'd find something else to replace it.

EDIT: After looking closer at the template you are using i realized you have an older version of the template. Not a bad thing by any means but if you would like to there is a newer one with more editable layers. The template can be found in the "Templates" thread.

The Tech Romancer logo was actually the hardest thing to find. Despite how it may look, that logo was actually far better than any of the others I have found. If you know of another, though, I'd be happy to replace it.

that could help, i use vector magic quite often with logos and old covers.
If you do decide to use vectormagic, run it through a few times with different settings to find the best results.

Do you have the background picture in full colour? I think it would look much, much better without the blue tint, or at least with Batsu in colour. I'm also not completely sold on the black-on-yellow text on the back, readability could be better... Other than those things though, it looks great! The layout is excellent.

the original cover does both those things. I just tried to recreate it. It had black on yellow text and a blue tinted front.

sorry if I misread your post, but Project Justice and Rival Schools are NOT the same game. Project Justice was a sequel to Rival Schools. There are plenty of differences.

thats actually one of the main reasons i switched to the good ol' black DVD cases. You can find cases that hold up to 4 discs pretty easily, i couldn't find any orange multi disc cases. :(

T.Y :). I got lucky. Because of the white background, i was able to cut and stretch the text out and put a couple of pictures in between. As you know, this is not allways the case. I find DC covers the most difficult to work on.

Yeah, I tried converting the case of Napple Tales to this format, and it just fell flat on its face. How the heck do you do it, duke?

Well as you probably discovered, when you slide the jewel case into the template, both the front and back take up only about half the size available. So then you have to get a bit creative with the stretching so as not to lose proportion and start finding stuff to 'pad them out'. For some reason, the fronts normally work out ok but the backs are allways a pig to do. Luckily there's quite a bit of info/pics floating around the net for DC...and if i really have to, i draw some stuff in but that takes waaaaay to long. :) I just finished doing a fully Japanese version of Samba De Amigo 2000 that took at least 10 hours of solid work and was, so far, the most difficult i have done. And if im correct, it should be right underneath...

Looks great. JP covers are a real challenge! ;). Only slight issue is the rear art covering the ADX icon.

Fixed the logo issue (to a degree... It's still covering the logo a little, but I still wanted to give Millia that 'popping out the box' effect, so it's a compromise), along with a better Sammy logo.

I've noticed this is also true on games that have been converted the white from the original "black theme" of the later Dreamcast games. Why not just all white for each case? By the way, the SFIII case is beautiful Grumbleduke.

It's just a preference thing. I actually prefer the black box on the back (although I don't care that much about it), and I usually copy the Japanese orange strip onto the spine for those that don't have it. Without the orange, the case looks to much like a Wii case to me.

A friend picked me up a copy of this last year while he was in Hong Kong. It was disc only, which is a shame as its going for £80 odd pounds on e-bay at the moment. Anyway, it has remained coverless as a good quality scan has been difficult to find. Hopefully, someone will donate one at some stage but untill then, this one will have to do.

That is exactly the kind of stuff we are against at TCP. If it truly is a "backup" collection, it shouldn't matter how they look, because you have the originals. If I had a collection of pirated software I would probably keep it in a cd wallet with my real collection on my shelf. Unless DC games came on CD-R's I fail to see how a lightscribed or whatever disc would look better than the originals.

Hmmm, I guess I can see that logic. But if you have a DC jewel case with the original CD, and a custom case that's empty, I feel like one is a little useless. Regardless of the philosophy behind TCP, we are still pirating IP every time we exchange, create, download, and print custom covers. Still, I am behind TCP %100, but I am interested on your thoughts. This is the best appeal I can make. ;D

^Thanks. I have a few more DC games not pictured, but I don't have the room for all of them right now. I'm in the process of buy my first house so by the end of 2009 I hope to have a large shelving unit to store all of my games and dvd's. Something like the shelves dmc1974 has.(link here (http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=2176.0)) I also plan on putting my loose NES and SNES games into game cases, but one thing at a time.

Especially Shenske as most of my covers have been made by you. I modified a few spines so they would all have the uniform white cover look. The Capcom vs. SNK series are my favorites.

I posted around 100 covers two weeks ago in my vacation and I think kaiserwave did some in his too....

I have a PAL copy of Tech Romancer but the artwork is a bit..dull. I had started a custom one that can be altered for U.S. Most of it is done anyway. Just say.

Black Dreamcast DVD Cover Thread
We at the TheCoverProject had a big debate a few years ago about a standard Dreamcast DVD style.
Our consensus was that the "All White" and the "Orange Upper spine" were the standard.
I have no intentions on changing the standards here just adding another option.
The Vertical black bar on the front takes up almost the exact same amount of space as the current white one.
(This will make it very easy to convert pre-existing covers to the black template)
I still have every intention on making the All White style my priority but i'll be releasing a black version as well.
Many of the dreamcast game I own came in black CD cases and a black side bar with the dreamcast logo on the manual.
With this latest alteration of the template i tried my absolute best to mimic the original style of the dreamcast covers.

On the front because the DC logo is on the side it allows the online logo to be in the correct place up top.
You may also notice on the spine above the Sega logo the product number is listed for accuracy from the original CD case.
Sega All Stars

The Sega All Stars version was purely based off the the original CD style.
The color orange was matched to the degree with the original orange.
The spine was one constant orange color with a black logo, pruduct # & Black text for the game name.
On the front there is a vertical bar with the SAS labeled vertically to signify the inlay you can see on through with the CD case version.

Yeah, I got my dad a Dreamcast for Christmas, a controller, VMU + 4 games (Quake III Arena, Unreal Tournament, Soldier of Fortune and Blue Stinger) for $30 at a flea market. Totally worth it - I'm definitely the favorite kid now. =P j/k
Oh yeah, I like the black template. It looks snazzy and would go well alongside, say, a PS2 or Xbox collection.

Only an increase from 2 to 3 styles. Its good we have the standards and all but it does kind of limit the artist from his/her own personal preference. I think that everyone should still make the two standard template versions and if they feel like it they can make another alternate. Think about if we had to tell the PC covers artist they had to use the "games for windows" template even though some of the original covers came in the "PC-DVD" style.
About it standing out too much its mostly the illusion of the color. Dark colors really stand out next to light backgrounds.

Really like this new Sonic Adventure cover. Every time I think I`ve got the covers I want someone comes out with something I like even better. :D However there is a small typo on the back. Where it says ``Sonic the Hedgehog will propel your Dreamcast to warp-speed``, should be ``into warp speed``. Great job, and keep it up!

I like it a lot, Shenske. So, the sega all stars is equivalent to greatest hits on other platforms, correct? I've never seen the point in ever printing those off, but I guess for those who want it you've certainly accommodated.

The issue was with the unit itself, since it wouldn't read disks. After that I gave away my Dreamcast. I'm looking to eventually replace it since Dreamcast had a lot of good exclusive games. I really, really want to get a copy of Mars Matrix, and maybe even get a sanwa stick.
I see myself getting a dreamcast again in the future, but I've been undecided on the type of casing. I like both the white and the white/orange spine dreamcast layout. The one disadvantage with the all white spin though is that it looks too similar to that of a Wii cover. The thing I like about this black layout is that this gives it a little more distinction over that of a Wii cover, but still has that simple and very aesthetically pleasing look. Yeah, Sega All Stars is the equivalent to a "platinum hits" or "greatest hits".
There are quite a few downloads for greatest/platinum/allstars in general so if only ~30 people download it at least some is using it.
You should replace it, the Dreamcast is one of my favorite consoles and there are so many great games out for it.
I also like only paying $1-$5 for each game ;D
Just use any color case except white and it wont look like Wii cases.
When i get all the cases i need i think i'm oing to put my pal games in blue cases, my japanese games in orange cases and my dreamcast games in either black or white.

Well there different...but man are they flimsy. Whenever i got one in the post, it almost always had at least one cracked hinge.

Yes for the PAL realease it is, actually i didn't know it was untill i looked on google just now.
The American version doesn't use that artwork, it uses a more zoomed out veiw of wesker's face though.

It's still has a bit too much JPEG artifacts - not in the screenshots or the template, but in the rest of the art.
You might be able to work something out by using Vector Magic. It's kinda tricky - and not always helpful - but it is worth a shot. Give it a Google search and you might be able to find a free trial.

If they were to be an alternate version of an artist's cover it would have to be altered by that original artist.
So in order for their to be a white version of Lumberjack42's cover then it would have to be made and uploaded by Lumberjack42.

Plus, this isn't even that big of a deal.
I've used tons of stuff that Shenske and LJ42 posted in White or Orange/Black style, and I've always changed the spines to look like the Japanese covers. It's just a matter of cutting the top part of the spine from the template you want and pasting it on top of the cover you want - no big deal. Should be more than possible even in MS Paint, and definitely in Gimp, for those that can't afford Photoshop.

Anyway, I just posted it here because for anyone with the game, it's better than having no cover at all.
I don't have Photoshop or GIMP - did it all in paint, so if you guys want to improve it or start from scratch then go ahead. I'm not knowledgable in the field of cover making.

Wasn't really sure what to call this... all the other covers have simply called it KOF '99 (Because, that is basically what it is), but it was actually released as King of Fighters EVOLUTION... so, here it is. Went with the Japanese title, because it makes more sense.

That KOF 2k cover is great. I love the artwork. Had it as a desktop wallpaper some time ago :) It really looks great in the all black version. Wil you do the others as well? KOF 2k2 has a butt ugly cover art for the DC version, the Neo Geo version is much better and would look awesome in the all black template.

Hope someone else can use this - it was UBER hard to find images for the game. There is nothing for this game out there on the tubes - not even searching its Japanese name helped. Not even Pixiv helped.
I was just using the Neo Geo CD cover, with the Dreamcast template placed on top of it, for a long time. Now that I'm re-doing all my covers in black, it was about time to give it the proper treatment.

While I do agree with you that anyone could easily find worse pictures online in a matter of seconds, It still doesn't make it appropriate.
Even though there is not a rule against it and its "not that bad" I will personally not be adding it to the site. Someone else is welcome to, its just not my cup of tea.
Its like when a parent comes into gamestop and gets her 7 year old GTAIV. She is warned about the content in the game but disregards it because "there is worse stuff out there." Doesn't add up to me.

I was opposed to this cover when it was first previewed on the forums but like i said there is no rule against it being hosted I just personally dont like the artistic direction it is going (my opinion).

I understand your position, it's just that the image is - at least in my opinion - cheesecake. A good deal of cheesecake, sure - but still. You see more cheesecake than that at the start of every Street Fighter IV match featuring Cammy. I thought this was coming down to us just not allowing cheesecake on the site, which would not only mean official covers would be barred (like that X-Blades cover), but also we'd have to weed out the beefcake as well. Just always liked this image, and wanted to use it for a cover. Sucks if you are a Marvel fan, but I kinda assume more Capcom fans liked MvC1 better than MvC2 than Marvel fans. (After all, Capcom fans are more likely to make a fuss over how horribly unbalanced MvC2 was than Marvel fans will, especially considering the God Tier - Magneto, Storm, Sentinel and Cable - consists solely of Marvel characters.)
I know the logo on the front is really small, but the only way I could make it bigger is to flip it 90 degrees - which could work, I've seen DVDs that are read like that, but I didn't know if I really wanted to experiment with it like that.

shenske: All of them are in the game - just not as playable characters. Arthur, Saki, Unknown Soldier, Ton Pooh and a bunch of others are helper characters in the game.

Hotaru is an interesting choice for a Garou cover. If I were thinking about a Garou custom cover my first choice would have been B. Jenet. Marco as a close second.

Shenske: Jigsaw nailed it - all of these characters are in Marvel vs Capcom 1 as either Playable Characters or Special Partners.
KaizerWAVE: Hotaru has cross-overed a bit more than B.Jenet has. Hotaru was in Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, as well as KOFXI (console ports). I was considering using B.Jenet, but couldn't find any good art of her with a background.
I was planning on using this as a front (http://www.fightersgeneration.com/characters/bjenet-flower.jpg), and this as a back (http://www.fightersgeneration.com/characters/bjenet-bg.jpg)... the problem with these images is that Fighter's Generation does not provide artist credits, and unless I can confirm that this is official art (which I doubt), I'm not comfortable putting it on a cover and not crediting the artist.
As for Marco/Khushnood - there is practically no art featuring him suitable for a cover. This is the best image of him I could find. (http://www.fightersgeneration.com/characters/marco-student.jpg)
I also looked for good images of Terry and Tizoc, but again, nothing cover worthy.
Of course - there is a lot to be said for me simply liking Hotaru...

I don't know, maybe it's her character design. She would make a fine addition to the Samsho series but for some reason I thought she was out of place in Garou. On the other hand B. Jenet would have made a fine addition to the roster of a World Heroes game as well so to each his own I guess. :) Yeah, Marco does not get the spotlight he deserves. He's badass, and if there is room for an Afro Samurai why not a black Kyokugen Karateka :)

Anyone else seem to remember this game actually being more popular than SFIII:Third Strike back in the day? Almost every one of my friends had Double Impact, but by the time Third Strike came out, most my friends had already sold their Dreamcasts - or at least ignored them - in favor of the PS2. Kinda sad.

I like the choice of art, but the SNK logo on the front is placed really awkwardly. I'm assuming it was already part of the picture, but I think if you retouched the image to take it out, and put it in the upper right corner instead (preferably with a slighter bigger margin), it would look at lot less distracting and improve the overall look of the cover.

I noticed that all your JP covers have ESRB ratings. You might want to remove them or the covers will not be added to the site.
I know that previously some covers have been added this way, but it's something the admins discussed and we are trying to prevent.
It was decided that if JP,EU and US covers have rating, they should have the corresponding one.

the7k allready made a couple of versions of this in a U.S style cover so i attempted a JP look with this one. Great graphics but possible the poorest of the Cotton games. Overlong levels, horrid re-centering controls and some 'cant see what im shooting at' problems...well i thought so anyway (and it cost me a lot of dough, even without the cover. But not as much as it is nowadays)

Tracked down a copy of this with front cover only(still expensive). That was not worth the bother of converting to DVD case so this one is a modified PS2 version. Did a load of work on Yu Suzuki Gameworks too but what i thought was original packaging ( i know it came with a book but thought it had a standard JP jewel case too) i now believe is a custom so as i dont want to nick someone else's design and as i dont have the disc anyway and was doing it for fun, production has ceased at about 80%. ;)

So we allready have loads of really good Soulcalibur covers on site, but i was trying to emulate the grid style background of the original, as well as keeping the original front with this. However, the original rear jewelcase proved to be difficult to stretch to the template so i added a different picture instead. The style has remained the same, well i hope so anyway! ;). And as we are on a drive for jewelcases at the moment, here's the original for good measure.

I don't know why it says this as it looks GREAT actually printed out, and didn't make it at 72 DPI, can someone double check?

I'm just at one of the university computers so i can't look at the dpi settings right now. But ...
- I'm unsure if the site can host it, there was an official release of MGS Bleem but not officially by Sega. It should be ok but I'm not sure.
- There is a great deal of pixilation
- the bleam logo is pixilated
- konami log on the front is partially chopped off
- there is some white crud above the bleemcast text on the front
- the back artwork is a little rough next to the spine
- there is something weird about the shadow around the white curve on the front
- the cover you used under the template was not originally made by you
I know thats a lot of things but those are all factors as to why it wouldnt be uploaded to the site under its current state.

Couldn't find the Bleemcast text I used previously, so...yeah.
It may still be a bit pixely in some spots, but...I tried my best.
No more Bleem logo sense I can't find one that won't be pixely if used.
Sense Bleemcast is technically a boot disk it wasn't rated so no rating.
I used the case I used as the background as it's basically the official one transfered to DVD, I believe.
I think there are a few black dots and stuff on it, but it may be my monitor. ...anyways I need to get some sleep I'll finish this after school if it looks any good to me then.

Once again, do not use any links in the threads, actually just don't pay attention that they are even there. The covers are on the site in the Dreamcast Section on the left hand part of the page. There is an alphabet across the top when you get redirected. Click on the Letter "C" for Capcom vs. SNK, after that you can click on the game name and there is the cover to download.

So a mate suggested i make him up a case for his U.S Taxi 1 & 2 using the PSP cover (as the PSP game is more or less just Taxi 1 & 2) so as he can save a little space. Well we don't have separate PS1 cover threads, so I don't think it would be a bad idea to merge. I think the only other thing we have multiple threads for is PS3 anyway, and that makes a little bit more sense.

I think it's fine to merge. If you're looking for specific covers then you usually don't use the forums but the database so it should be fine.

Merge away. It'll help make the site a bit less cluttered. I don't think sub boards would be necessary if you guys are posting multiple versions of the same cover all at once. They might further satisfy my OCD of subcategorizing everything, but overall I think it makes more clutter.

I am new here and I have a couple covers I made for Shenmue I and II on dreamcast before finding this place.
I started making them because I recently got my games out of storage, and the old Jewel cases were so brittle they pretty much started crumbling in my hands.
Instead of just stretching the original image, I decided to make my own.

The Shenmue 1 front, I think I got the image from the Shenmue II GD_rom. The back is from the OST

With my Shenmue II, I tried to capture the feel of the DC Shenmue II cover, but make it something my own.
These are some of the first covers I have made, so I don't care if you don't like them. They were made for my personal consumption.

The covers are far too low rez to pass quality. I know they are for your personal use but they will not be hosted on our site. :-\

We've had some talks about this in the past (privately?). Anything designed for piracy / homebrew loading is probably not going to be put on the site anymore. Action Replays and other retail releases with legitimate, non-piracy purposes are fine, so your covers should be allowed.
