I find myself needing these ALL the time. Thought I'd just finally make a collection. These are all transparent PNGs (unless the logo is designed in a way that it doesn't need transparency) and ready to use! If you have any or make any, post it and I'll update this post.

I'll keep looking, but mobygames.com has tons of video game company logos. I do not know if they will be usable or not, but it is definitely worth checking out.

Hi, does anyone have a High resolution Tecmo logo? I need one for a Saturn case I am working on. Google only brings back very low-res images... Thanks.

I had the same problem while doing a DOA cover for Saturn. I just used a low-res image, blew it up, then traced over the low-res image with the Photoshop Pen tool, and finally deleted the low-res image.

Could it be Rare -> Microsoft?
OH YEAH!!! I forgot Rare worked on that game as well. I always forget because the logo they used in Battlemaniacs, which was the one I owned as a kid, was just the word "Rare" in rainbow letters, instead of the more common wave seen in Donkey Kong Country. That explains it. :P

Haha, you must not be familiar with LJN's notoriety for making absolutely atrocious games. That's why amarthar referred to the logo as the "Rainbow of Death". Pretty much any game stamped with that logo is guaranteed to be absolute garbage.
If you frequently watched Angry Video Game Nerd, you'd also see that probably 25% of the games he reviews are LJN games. :D

I've noticed that many covers have not so good looiking Nintendo Seal of quality.

With mediafire you have to use the second share link. If it gives that blue error screen, upload was corrupted, upload again.

One question: I've seen that you upload the logos in png format, is it better than uploading them in a vectorized format as I've been doing?

I can't seem to access Mediafire it's all f***ed up. I'll try tomorrow again.
Don't know about the box.net, but I think it's the same as Mediafire (each file get's unique ID).
But you can make folder that you share. that way you can add stuff to the folder without needing to update the link.

Or if you could save it in format that can be opened in paint, like jpeg.
Maybe even shrunk to same size as used in our covers. with the euro seal I shrunk it to 10% and size was pefect.

@ vladictivo: Ok, thanks. That's why I was making vectorized logos, so we don't loose resolution when changig the size of the logo.

Check that the outside is pure white, ie if you use let's say purple with paint bucket tool in MS Paint it colors to the spikes witout leaving any white visible.
Check also that the inside white parts have no pure white, but all bit off-white.

Umm Arseen... it's working fine for me as well? I even used the PNG from imageshack because I dont have photoshop on this computer...

Had to resize it to 15% and repaint the parts that were stiil see-thru inside the logo.

As you can see the result is better but it still has like all the covers on the site white lines around the spikes of the logo. that make it look bit fuzzy.
it does however improve the clarity of the text.
I use W7 Paint as well.

I use W7 Paint as well.
Are you using just Microsoft Paint? Because maybe this is the problem, I think that Microsoft Paint doesn't work with transparencies. You could try downloading the trial version of Photoshop or Corel Draw, or using other programs like The Gimp.

I just want to say that I don't have any trouble with the PNG's transparency hosted in imageshack using Corel's Paint Shop Pro X. I'm not sure why your software is distorting the image arseen ???
MS Paint, even Windows 7 one is not perfect, but I don't know how to use anything else.

I tried this:
Opened it in Paint.net.
Using Magic Wand and Paint Bucket tools made it absolutely two color: Pure white (only one shade) and gold (again only one shade).
Made sure no anti-aliasing was left or on.
Saved it 100% quality.
Re-opened it, and surprice surprice, it had turned into multishade one!
Why doesn't it hold solid two tone form?

I find myself needing these ALL the time. Thought I'd just finally make a collection. These are all transparent PNGs (unless the logo is designed in a way that it doesn't need transparency) and ready to use! If you have any or make any, post it and I'll update this post.

There's vector logos up the wazoo, which I actually used all the time in design school. Just did a search for "sega", there's a crap load of logos. Just opened up this genesis logo in illustrator to show you guys. What's nice is that since it's in vector here, it's infinitely scalable!

I took a look at the logo. I just want to double check with you before I release the file. I made the gradient higher contrast. By doing that, you lose the beveled/chamfered edge towards the bottom, so I made the bottom darker, so it looks more 3-dimensional. I also added highlights to the "GENESIS" letters (like in the old logo you posted), as it looks REALLY bland without them.
By the way, holy cow Flickr does a TERRIBLE job of compressing jpegs...
Also, what format works best for you guys here? If anything, I can just make a .zip file containing vector(.eps) and raster/pixel (.tiff/.jpeg) formats.

VERY nice work; I like it a lot. My only idea would be to make the Sega logo a bit brighter, since its somewhat hard to see against the darker tone. Otherwise, its awesome, and I'd love to have it in vector format.

Ok, so what I had to do was actually darken the SEGA JUST A SMIDGE, and lightened the gradient behind it JUST A HAIR. :D
I really tried to find a good blue that matches the logo you posted, but was lighter, and still reads easily. Because of the color (warm/purple gray, and purple has some blue to it) of the gradient behind it, when I lighten the SEGA, it got harder to read (tried for a good while). I even blew it out to Sonic the Hedgehog blue, and was still really hard to read. The graphic designers at SEGA really know what they were doing with their color choices here for their logo.
Even for something as nuanced as this, you probably want to do some test prints to check for readability.
So I hope you like the result. What do you think? :)

I took a look at the logo, and it definitely seems doable. The only tricky part of it are the conical gradients, or rather the rays of "metallic" colors radiating from the center in the circle, which I've never done in Adobe Illustrator, but it'll be a good time to learn :) I'll try to get a start on it as soon as I can.
Glad everybody's happy with the Genesis logo, I'm getting a lot of downloads for it!

In the second one, you have diagonal gradient. It should be radial. I'm working on new color version as well. Once finished, will post it as well for your critique.

The first is a minimalist version that I made for my own purposes. It's not meant to be a gradient mess like the original.

Well, I'd done my version of the Sega Genesis Seal.
I've scanned at 600dpi a poster form "Toki Going Ape Spit" in 600dpi. Removed background, applied "noise/median" and "motion blur in Photoshop. Erased all the lettering and finished it in Illustrator.
Here is a final result... I think I could've done it better. (I might go back to it and re-tweak it).

Does anyone have an N64 logo that looks like the one on the Cartridge? The one used for the covers is slightly different. I'm looking for the content ratings for the cartridges to, the ones I've found have used a different font or and R instead of TM and that bugs me.

For ESRB, check my 3DS template, I got both old and new ones, but the (R) and TM varies from game to game.

That's the one, there's two variations though. I can always just snatch one off of a cartridge label but I was hoping for a high resolution one.

Oh, well am I right about the proportions being slightly different? Or am I seeing things there. For the wiki one the 3d N seems to extend to the N in Nintendo while the smaller one only seems to go the the I in Nintendo.
ETA Never mind I've found one in the raw's section that was high enough quality to be usable. Thanks anyway though.
