Title: New here so here's some PS1 covers
Post by: Bungleboss on October 13, 2006, 05:24:35 PM
Hi all. Just thought i'd introduce myself. My name's Paul and I'm from the UK,  I tend to use Bungleboss all over various forums and now i'm here.
I found my way to the CAG forums a while back while looking for SNES covers and have keept in the background while the Cover Project has grown. I like what you have been doing with the scans and while I'm no expert with photo editing software I like to play and would love to help to fill a few gaps.

Here's what i've been working on the past couple of days.....

The covers are a mix of PAL back scans and NTSC fronts.  Hopefully someone will want to use them.

For the 3D images i'm using Imandix cover viewer,a free and easy to use programe. you can find that here.  http://www.imandix.net/ (http://www.imandix.net/)

For easy to use DVD cover printing I recommend Multicoverprint. It has preset cover sizes so it's just a case of throwing in the images and it automaticly resizes them. Prints a standard DVD case insert with no messing, and it's free. Here's the link if you want to try it. http://www.vianet.net.au/~markelly/shaun/software/mcp0.shtml (http://www.vianet.net.au/~markelly/shaun/software/mcp0.shtml)

Hope to chat to you all soon.

Very nice looking! I have been waiting for good scans of RR Type 4 and an Ape Escape one as well. Thanks a lot!

Glad you all are like what I've been doing. Here's a couple more that are now uploaded.

This one is a mix of the US and UK covers

Here's one for Spyro: Year Of The Dragon

More to come come soon. Trying to source some decent scans to work with.

Any particular ones you need?

I'm going through my own games first so could use good quality NTSC front scans of the following:-

Tigger's Hunny Hunt
Gran Turismo 2
Muppet Race Mania
Mickey's Wild Adventure
Buster And The Beanstalk
Hog Of War
Worms
WWF Warzone
Robocod
Speed Freaks
True Pinball
Toca 2: Touring Cars
Croc: Legend Of The Gobos
Strikers 1945 II

Being UK titles, there are a few name change for the NTSC versions. Speed Punks and Mickey Mania are a couple I know of.

Any links to other good cover sources would help too. Some stuff out there is so blurry and with bad compression artifacts that even I won't touch it.

Cheers

Wow, I only have GT2 from that list. I'll get that done tonight and upload the raw scans here.

If you want to get the best out of these you really need another method of uploading full size files rather than using imageshack where you have to get them below 1.5mb's each. That sacrifices quality before you even start.

Maybe Snowcone can set up a dump directory here where you can upload raw scan's without having to downsize them and where anyone can access them. Maybe a link on the front or upload page?

Snowcone????

Yeah, I was hoping we would have the raw upload available but oh well. Whenever it's up is cool, though I generally convert the stuff to 300 dpi before uploading anyways. I guess with a upload location here, I can keep it at 600 dpi.
