This is my little thread for PAL - Playstation 1 jewel case covers. All covers are my original scans on my own template. Some of the covers may not be up to the sites standards, which would be due to bad cover inserts i own. This is why all covers are hosted off site, im here to cater for the user who just wants a quick replacement cover to chuck on the shelf. Hope people will find them useful, enjoy!

Great thread! I really dislike that we have Fat PS1 jewel cases which don't look good and crack and break much more easily.

Good sir, would you mind telling my the best printing setup? I've tried multiple setups but they always come out too small or too big.

I just print mine in paintbrush and print on A4:
1. Go to page setup.
2. Set page to landscape
3. Set scaling to - "Adjust to: 100% normal size"
Optional: Centre horizontal and vertical to center it in the middle of the page.
That works for me, hope it works for you too

Im working on the last of the game i currently own (buying new ones all the time) ill keep uploading the previews but i wont upload the mediafire links for the rest until people request them.

Will you stick to your template all the way to the end or are you planning to join Shenske's template for some PAL covers? I'm on the verge of using the 8-Disc Polay cases but I don't want to use the US covers. I'm not a fan of standard jewel cases either so right now there's really nothing that could give me the final push that I need :D

Im sticking with jewel cases, due to not being able to get the 8 disk polys. I can get similar cases that are too wide. Which i dont like. I prefer the jewel cases because they are cheap, anyone can get them and if they break its not a hassle to replace them. Big plus is that the jewel case saves a hell of alot of room on shelves compared to dvd cases/8 polys.
So fear not children, the jewels will keep coming!

Would you mind creating alphabetazed list of your uploads, so it is easier to see what you have, and which of the missing ones I can provide.
Mine are Pal versions but are easy to convert by someone who knows how.

I gotta hit 100 covers!, although with the games sitting next to me, it would make 105 :D
Most annoying thing is, i have yet to find a copy place that will print my covers for me, the ones ive asked so far wont because of the copyright issue, epic fail.

Buy yourself a printer, even cheap inkjet printers do good quality if you have correct paper.
And color lasers are coming down in size and price.
Just saw one at 179 Euros and size was about same as Scanner printer.

I have a cannon mono laser printer atm. Which is good for printing temp covers. But nothing compares to a professional finish :D

Doesn't mono laser mean black and white printer, I was talking about color laser printer, the one I was talking produses good quality images, maybe not Photo ones perfectly but game covers defenitely. I'll check the name of the printer when I find the magazine it was in.

It was HP LaserJet Pro CP1025.
Print quality otherwise OK but differenting darkest black shades is not the best.
The magazine says that is only problem on photo printing but not on for example on posters, so probably cover printing is problem free too.

Any recommendations, i kinda wish i had saved Grandia for it. What do you guys think would make a nice 100? Maybe a Final Fantasy? or a Resident Evil? My ultimate 100 game would be Tombi 1 or Tombi 2. Shame the prices are too high for it these days :(

I think not possible like you want.
Of course you could use links without images?
But atleast with my 8mb net connection the loading times are not bad, first page loads fully in les than 8 seconds.

It would really be excellent if you put some of your cover-making efforts towards Shenske's PS1 Poly-Case template. It's really catching on, and converting from jewel case to Shenske's PS1 template is VERY easy.

Only problem with your idea is 8 disk polys arent as easy to get for us in Pal regions, why spend outrageous amounts on postage for them when we can jewel cases just down the road. I spent a long time trying to find cases like that in my country but never could get them, the one i can get now are like 2cm wide, plus the company are douche bags and send your a different product than the one they advertise.
I would love to get some, thick, study polypropylene cases for my games that are 1cm-1.5cm wide but until then ill just do my jewelcases.
Although heres a preview of one i made for fun but took off the forum before shenske got shitty cause i messed with his template :P

So tempted now to switch over to the 2cm wide polyprop cases i can source, mostly for fitting manuals in, problem is they dont fit on A4 paper so id have to use something longer :P

these are the cases i can source, bloody sturdy things, wont chip or crack or anything.
They fit 2,4,6,8 disks depending on if you take out any of the disk trays inside, im swayed towards them mostly because i wouldnt have to worry bout manuals , where as J.C dont fit some manuals or they get damaged by the jewel case manual tabs.
I just printed off one of shenskes PS1 8 disk polys, to see how much bigger mine was, and mine was actually smaller, mine has a wider spine that the 8 disk polys but are not as high or deep,
Dimensions are:
20mm spine - 144mm depth - 124mm high
So inserts are
298mm wide - 120mm high
If i can get them printed on Long A4 paper, it should be sweet. Man do i dare go this way??

I would say 100% yes, here is an example using my thickest manual - Theme Park World, as you can see in the photos the manual and the trays with enough for 4 disks, fits very well. The manual is 7mm thick! so i think any manual would be a pretty safe bet inside these + 4 disks.

Double DVD cases that I order from England and use as replacements for UGCs are about twice that price if I include the postage in the price.

Hey arseen ive emailed my supplier and asked them if they can contact their supplier and ask if they supply them to anyone in Europe. Dont want to get your hopes up though. My supplier are never much help even to me. Fingers crossed.

I contacted the UK site where I usually buy my cases, and asked if they have something similar.
They have cases that have 1cm spine, so 1CD and maybe 2CD games with thin manual fi in those as well, but thick manual ones and 3-5CD games not.

Ive ordered a few more of the Polypropylene cases, hopefully arrive tomorrow, ill do up some mocks and decide whether i want to use them or not. Means ill prolly start rescanning my other covers to fit the dimensions of these cases.
Problem is i cant see to find anyone yet that supplies A4 Legal paper, they are too long to fit on a normal A4 piece :(

I knocked up a cover for Theme Park World for these new cases im trying, once the ones i ordered arrived ill try to get a few more mock ups going. Im just wondering if i can get away with using these for other games eg Megadrive/Master System/Super Nintendo. Duno the dimensions of the manuals for those games though?

Definitely not. The manuals to all of those games are much taller (and possibly wider) than a PS1 manual, so unless you want to fold them in half, you're gonna have to stick with UGCs.

NES has the second best collection of games after SNES and is so colect worthy that it is a shame when someone says that they sold their collection ;)

Just a criticism, but all my PAL single case spine art have a large PAL on it where you have put "Playstation".

Yeah i know, if i put pal there like the retails, it gives you no indication of what system the games are for. I couldve doen it like the fat jewel case retails and had a playstation logo up the top, but since there isnt enough room and it would look tiny and squished i reckon the "playstation" looks nicer. You could always cut and paste the spines to change it how you like it, if you want it to match your other ones :)

You know, the more of these I see you make, the more and more I like the idea. The huge spine logos are really nice. My only problem with them is the thickness. They're HUGE. If you have a huge PS1 collection, these will significantly increase the size from jewel to polyprop. But, at the same time, I look at the way most J-RPGs were released for PS1, in those double-thickness, four-disc jewel cases, even if they weren't multi-disc games, and it makes me like the idea even more. I bet the Final Fantasy games and all the other J-RPGs that were released in those preposterous cases would look awesome cased in there polyprop cases. You should do a polyprop mock up of some FF games. Or Arc the Lad Collection. Or Brave Fencer Musashi. :P

I need to buy a final fantasy game, but so expensive atm. Ive never seen a pal version or brave fencer or arc since since the 90s
Unfortunatly the 2cm wide spine is the only ones i can get, but its kinda useful with the thicker books, i remember Space Hulk has a book 1cm thick which would be a mission to fit in other cases

I gotta find some A4 Legal paper to take to the internet cafe im printing them at, i had to print on 2 A4 and stick em together but for some reason the cover printed out a 10mm too wide, and all the settings were correct, hmm, guess ill try again when i make more covers

It would fit on a4 if you could print without boarders on a4 but because there is ALWAYS a little bit of boarder on the page, it doesnt fit a4 so your gona have to find legal as well buddy

I rang the supplier of mine cause my package hasnt arrived and its been 4 days and it was surpose to be overnight courier in the same city :p, he said he is still waiting to hear back from his supplier about company in europe who supplies them.

Ive started adding the actual barcodes now insted of a set one that is on the template. Wont be adding links for this just yet. Going to start a Multi Case PS1 Pal forum in the future. Who would like a pal ps1 source for Jewel Case and 8 Disk Polys and the cases i play on using, the 2cm PP case? Well you may just get it.

Whacked up a couple more of the Polyprop case covers for fun, still waiting on them in the mail.
You know, the more of these I see you make, the more and more I like the idea. The huge spine logos are really nice. My only problem with them is the thickness. They're HUGE. If you have a huge PS1 collection, these will significantly increase the size from jewel to polyprop. But, at the same time, I look at the way most J-RPGs were released for PS1, in those double-thickness, four-disc jewel cases, even if they weren't multi-disc games, and it makes me like the idea even more. I bet the Final Fantasy games and all the other J-RPGs that were released in those preposterous cases would look awesome cased in there polyprop cases. You should do a polyprop mock up of some FF games. Or Arc the Lad Collection. Or Brave Fencer Musashi. :P

No war needed, we are catering to different markets, PAL vs NTSC, problem is i need someone who has 8 disk polys to try out one of my pal templates to see if it works and looks ok

Made a jewel case cover for Ninja Shadow Of Darkness, ive taken all my links down while i sort out stuff for this new thread, but ill still give a preview of things i put together in the mean time, also brought Mortal Kombat Trilogy, so that will be another retail and platinum cover :)

Does any1 know where I can find custom made covers for normal ps1 pal cases, I think the spines are so fuckin boooring, all look the same. Would love to find some1 who made minimalistic covers with colors for pal...........thanks...

Hehe, I hate those fuckers;) Im printing covers for my 200+ ps2 pal collection at the moment...usin both NTSC u and NTSC jap......looks so much coller in the shelf ;)

Great work here! I've been making ps1 covers in jewelcase too, for my loose ps1 discs, and they all look awesome! I've made my own "template" so they all look pretty uniform and close to the originals.
I'm looking forward for the links with all the covers you've made noclass_nick :)
