Well, I changed rooms and got to build shelves to house all my console games.
(http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/7116/gamesde8.th.jpg) (http://img266.imageshack.us/my.php?image=gamesde8.jpg)
Upper left is PS1, below that is Dreamcast, below that is PS2, below that is Gamecube.
Upper right is NES, second shelf on the right is the beginning of the gameboy DS project, below that is the N64 section.
The consoles/TV gotta move because the wife wants the desk for crafting....
Need a bigger TV anyways... ;D

Looking great. I hope this is how my collection looks like once I have completed my collection (at least up to DC games the rest is going to take a 1 or 2 more years :))
Btw, so you did build these shelves yourself? I like the way they're just big enough for the different games for different consoles. It's kinda hard to find a shelve at IKEA (or a furniture store of your choice) where DC or PS1 games look good next to DVD cases :)

Nice and versatile collection...
AND
A really really nice shelf.... I could use such a thingy myself because up to now my games are mostly stored on the floor.... :( Haven't got cases anyway but that might change soon ;) and there still will be no fitting and worthy shelf....
Regards S

Yes, I built the shelves. That is what I was doing yesterday. The reason the games fit is that the shelves are all adjustable, so I kept moving them up/down until I got them like I wanted them.
If you look at the big picture, under the N64 cases on the left you can see the tracks for the shelves.
Thanks for noticing... ;D

i am impressed with your collection and your shelfs.i just have a crappy walmart shelf :'(
-
What a show-off. Damn you ..... damn you to hell!!!!
I feel so inadequate now :'(
-
Man I wish I had a shelf like that. I just have a crappy cuboard to put my stuff in. And then there is the fact that I have like games scattered all over the damn house. Just the other day I found out that I left my copy of Rambo for the SMS in the living room :P

Thats a nice well organized collection, im aiming for something similar to this in the long term, not that my other half will be very happy about it.

My other half was not happy either.... until it was finiushed, now she likes it.....
basically she told me that it looks a lot better than she though it would.

Mine does not actually mind either......
she knows it is a sickness I have..... (Game collecting)
Problem is that since I have been here in Minnesota, I have picked up so many games (PSX/DC) that I may need more shelves.......
(I could not help myself... they were giving the things away....)

Rub our noses in it why dontcha?
Damn you ..... damn you all to hell !!!!! ;D

How did you get all of those Nintendo 64 games? They all look great side by side on a shelf like that! I want to collect them, but I don't know of any good and cheap ways to get them besides eBay. What is a good way to get Nintendo 64 games?
-
the easiest way i find is ebay. you can find auctions for around 40 dollars that have lots of games, you just gotta look. but if not ebay, then yard sales, fleemarkets, etc. if not that, then you can occasionally find game websites that sell older games. but, best bet is ebay
-
GameQuestDirect.com still sells new N64 Games. Garage sales and flea markets are always hit or miss. You could try a game trading website like Goozex.com or barterbee.com. eBay is the best place to look for a certain game, but can be expensive (watch out for high shipping costs).

Most of mine were purchased at gamestop and game crazy. (some on ebay)
Depends what part of the country you live in, but most gamestops/game crazys are out of the ps1/n64/DC business.
Goodwill stores up north seem to be a good place to find them as well.... not down here where I live, though.

I forgot to mention but Movie Trading Company (Texas) now buys and sells pretty much any type of video game since they merged with Vintage Stock.
