Title: Bungle's Super Nintendo Games
Post by: Bungleboss on February 09, 2007, 05:41:55 PM
I've only got a few games but here's how they look in the lounge.

The covers are a bit of a mix at the moment.

The white spines are one style I was working on to make them look like the European PS2 game cases. They looked so bland though I gave up on that and just use it to label the games without proper covers.

There's about 5 or 6 with a snes logo on the base of the spine and Super Nintendo wording at the top but I changed my mind on that style too.

The rest with the red Super Nintendo wording at the top were part of yet another style I was making (before joining the project) with the front art rotated/remade and the back remade in an upright fashion. (Pics below.)

Custom Fronts

Custom Backs

I'll make my mind up one day and have a uniform looking collection. ;)

.......By the way, being in the UK it's impossible to get the Media Cases so I've improvised and use standard VHS cases with the covers resized to fit.
The carts rattle around a bit (yet to sort that one) but keeps them free of dust and look just as sexy on a shelf.

You can get videos from second hand stores, charity shops, pretty much anywhere for as little as 10p a case. And you get a movie or 50 thrown in for free. I believe that the orange addams family case used to house the south park movie. ;D

Bungle,

I seriously suggest you try wide DVD cases if you can't get the Universal Game Case.   Refer to my post below attached to the bottom og one of the guides.  The proportions of this case are almost identical to the box size, and the carts fit OK and don't rattle around as much as in VCR cases.  I have been tempted to glue soft foam inside as well to ensure soft and cuddly protection for the carts.  These cases are quite common here in Australia, and a produced in black or clear by a multitude of chinese firms.

Alas, I would prefer the universal game cases, but methinks this may be the best answer for many of us.

I saw that post about the DVD cases and must say I'm swaying towards using them and reprinting the sleeves again.

I like the idea of the foam strip to protect against rattle too. (That's really the only problem with using other DIY cases)  :(

As/when I get some new cases I'll post some new piccies

They dont rattle around in Universal game cases too much  :)

Maybe you should see what happens with Snowcone and universal cases before going down the DVD case path?

Yep, I agree.  I am patient and will wait and see how Snowcone progresses with his offer to investigate being a reseller of UGC.  He must be extremely busy though, with admin for this site, (and I think there are others), the large amount of uploads of late, and probably work and family.

But, if all else fails, the Wide DVD cases are at least another option, and my recommendation for NES carts, as one would have to hackthe UGC make them fit.  I would rather use the wide DVD case than the UGC given that any UGC obtained would be more valuable intact.  Infact, Ill fit a NES cart into the case and take a photo.

I guess I am anti-VHS cases.  Silly Sony and their licensing charges because Betamax Cases would be better :) lol.
