Title: 360 GamerTags etc
Post by: Jonesat on June 13, 2010, 06:24:52 PM
Hey everyone!!

I thought i'd make this thread for people who are members and would like to add each other to their 360/wii/psn accounts.   I'd think it would be cool if everyone was not only working together here but maybe even gaming together!   I know lots of people have their tags and such on display in their signatures, but sometimes thats just for show people dont actually want friend requests being sent to them.

So if you do, or dont care, post your tags here!!!

Everyone can feel free to add my 360 tag     =  jonesat

I have mine in my signature almost solely for that reason. That, and to fill the empty signature void, as I don't really have anything else to put there. :D So I don't mind if anyone adds me to XBL, PSN, Steam, whatever. *does not have a Wii D:*

I wouldn't mind if anyone added me. If your'e using a different name than the one here just tell me you're from TCP and your friend request won't go ignored :)

Speaking of xbox, I've been meaning to get 8 people together who actually own the Orange Box so I can get that damned achievement in TF2 :p

Tags are in the signature. Add me if you like. I guess gaming together will be quite hard during the week due to the time difference (<--- Germany :) I use the boards default time and I'm 7 hours ahead. I have a Wii but I don't play online with it, it's just too damn uncomfortable and there's next to nothing I want to play online on Wii.

I have the Orange Box, never played TF2 since none of my friends have it. Rock Band/Guitar Hero would be nice to tget these damn 4-player band achievements out of the way :)

do you happen to have call of duty 3? :) by the time I got the game nobody played it online anymore. I hate it to death when a good chunk of the achievements is for multiplayer when I got the game for singleplayer :) Same with the Darkness, one of my favourite games of all time and then they put this sorry excuse for a multiplayer in it, laggy as hell and nobody plays it. I have some games that I really like which I would love to 1000/1000 to truly complete them. Just look at the games I have on my gamertag, there are a few that I haven't played yet and they're not on it like Lego Batman, Pure, UT 3 and others.

same here.   i dont have cod3 yet tho, gonna get that in the cod battlechest thing thats coming out tho, so we can def jam that one out.  i do have the darkness , havent played it yet tho.  generally what i do with my games is keep them factory sealed, then when i go to play them, i dont play anything new until i 100% the game (or as close as possible....stupid stuff like get 1st place in the world servers)

good and bad things about that is stuff like, i bought brutal legend on release day (i do that alot) and then 2 months later its selling brand new for 15$ :( lol

Same here. Got The Club on release day and not even a month later it's down to half the price. I still have a few games that I bought on release or cheap and haven't touched them. Like most of my PS3 games :D

I too want to 100% a game, that's why I hate it when there are achievements that you need other people in order to get them unless the game was build around mp (like Borderlands). Like a 4-player band or these ridiculous have 4-drummers/singer/guitar player achievements on Guitar Hero 5. Don't get me started on "have an online match with 8 player all on the same instrument".

I've decided that achievements are pointless. I have to remind myself that every now and then when an OCD-like emotion takes over. (We are on The Cover Project, most people here are probably crazy for collecting)

Games I care about achievements for:

Halo Wars
Burnout Paradise
Maybe The Beatles: Rock Band (I only have a plastic guitar)

I'm very aggresive in my friends list now. I also decided having a large collection of friends that I never play games with was stupid. Some of my real life friends aren't on my friends list because I don't play the same games as them. If you're interested in playing the above games over Live, you can add (or re-add) me.

I think we played a few rounds of Modern Warfare 2 together. or COD4 don't remember for sure, I joined your game and we fragged each other a few times :)

I don't have Halo Wars or Burnout Paradise but I'll definitely buy Beatles Rock band. I own a full set of instruments. I'm a decent guitar player (can play most on expert) and a decent singer (also expert on most), not too good on the drums though, I struggle with hard sometimes.

I joined your game and we played a little bit of MW2. I sold MW2, still playing Call of Duty 4. I wish I had a microphone, I'd be glad to sing. I can only do normal for guitar. I've tried hard, and it's doable, but I'm not going to lie and say I can just do it no matter what.

Burnout Paradise is great. For someone like me who prefers arcade racing (Mario Kart, Need for Speed) over realistic racing, it's the best in the genre.

@doom if you like arcade racing, try sonic all star racing, playing that now, surprisingly like it alot!

@Kaiser tell me about it, i'm STILL trying to find a band to do the stupid band v band achievement and stuff like that on GHWT.  those ones are not fun at all, no one really has 8 friends that want to all play online at the same time and all on drums, thats just dumb lol

I'm a total achievement whore, so anyone like-minded, feel free to add me :) I'm currently struggling through The Club (10k kills -- gah!), and would love to work on the remaining non-glitched achievements in Ghostbusters.

If you just want to play games with me, I'm cool with that too :D

Hey Jonesat, if you're up for grinding out the online VS achievements in RB1 I still need them. Also the medic achievement in TF2 only took me a few hours. I've actually found out I'm a good medic lol

For anyone who just wants to play RB for fun, I'm a decent expert guitarist/bassist, and an expert (real) drummer. Can't sing to save my ass though :P

I never liked RB much. I can tear GH but I havent played that in a little while. But I prefer custom GH3 for my PC since I can pretty much make and play what ever I want.

Heres my channel with all my custom charts:

See, on my custom GH3 I play songs that make TTFAF look like a joke like Micheal Angelo Batio, Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert and Dream Theater. Plus Dragon Force sucks.  :P

Hm, I'm more of an RB person myself, mostly because GH feels too arcade-y. Then again I know that's why a lot of people love it. Beibg used to playing the real thing plus general dislike for activision and sub par cash-ins might have something to do with it. Bit that's a debate for another thread. IMO to every man his own ;)

I used to be very big into Achievements (or Trophies, rather), but ultimately gave up after playing SAW for no other reason that the Trophies. Got about 1/3 of the way through it before the pure suckage of it kicked that lifestyle right in the teeth. It was no longer worth it.

If you have a PS3, my name is 'the_7k'. All I've been playing is ModNation Racers - be sure to check out my characters (http://community.modnation.com/en-us/creations/mods/search?q=the_7k) and cars  (http://community.modnation.com/en-us/creations/karts/search?q=the_7k)if you get a chance.

Of course, if you wanna play something else, I've got almost every 2D fighting game out for the PS3 right now.

I almost dismissed rhythm games completely until Pro mode was announced for RB3. Now I'm excited to have something cheaper than a tutor to use to teach myself guitar and keyboard, two things I'm already struggling with this summer.

Actually, I'm curious how they're going to get 5 controllers working at once in this game locally. I understand they count the 3 singers/microphones as one player assigned to once controller, but how will the keyboard work? I know the PS3 can take more than 4 bluetooth inputs, but how about the Xbox? I'm pretty sure it's only designed with 4 controllers in mind...

you can connect wirelessly more then 4 controllers, every controller after the 4th just displays a 4th player icon on their controller is all.   found that out when linking 360s to play huge games of halo lol

plus with the last rockband game they gave a small usb multi tap, so you can just pop it into one of your usb slots, and now you have 4 more slots :)

Haha I'm plenty familiar with USB hubs. Never tried hooking up 4+ controllers to a 360 before. Cool to see you can do it though :D

Id have to dissagree with that. Theres not really anything these rythm games can teach you that will make you a better guitarist other than just getting you familiar with moving your fingers and maybeg etting some rythm.

Thats what helped me with bass !  i sucked at fingering (thats what she said!) but after rocking out gh1 and gh2 i found i was like 100% better at it.

What i wanna see is a gh or rb game that has more then the standard buttons, like maybe columns as well.  like the green button has like green 1 green 2 green 3 in a column, then red 1 red 2 red 3.....then that'll help me get better at chords haha

Have you seen the pro guitar controller? It's pretty much a 6 stringed guitar. And I hear they will be throwing simplified musical notation as well. If anything I'll end up sitting in front of the tv with my acoustic and no fail mode turned on. As of now all these games have served me was really intense finger training. If I can at least get the basics and chord training out of 3 I'll be extremely happy. And keyboard already translates key for key, I'll just have to brush up on musical theory and get me some pedals and I'll be set.

For the most part my lazy ass really doesn't like following onlines lessons, at least at the start. Rock Band makes that initial learning stage really fun, and then encourages me to move on and start creating my own stuff.
