Title: Facebook group
Post by: Nintendo-Atari-Sega-Nerd on May 23, 2010, 11:49:00 AM
Hi everybody, I just created a facebook group for the ''The Cover Project'' community. Hope to have a big group.

Did you ask any of the Admins prior to creating this?

While the execution here leaves little to be desired, it's a nice idea in itself. Having a nice looking fan group where you could highlight new submissions sometimes. Hell it might even get new potential raw scanners to contribute since so many use Facebook.

As I have a facebook account... I'm not about to join this to "conform" anymore.  I only talk to distant friends via facebook, nothing else.

Not jumping back on the bandwagon

Im not a big fan of facebook myself eventho I have it. I mainly use it to easily communicate with friends and making plans to get the word around. Not sure I support this group tho. It should be up to admin to decide whether or not they'd like to have a facebook group.

It's good publicity/advertisement IMO, but maybe it should be Admin moderated? If it's a fan group, then what are we to say anything about it at this point? My entire school communicates through Facebook so unfortunately I use it all the time :P

Going to my bank account online -
"Please enter your password"
    Crap... forgot....
"Click here if you forgot your password"
    Mmmkay
"Please answer this security question: Who is your best friend?"
Ummm this information is ALL over facebook

Just saying, I hate facebook, so I will proudly say "I regret to inform you that I will not be joining this group"

Your motivations are pure, but I just can't go back to facebook. Not after all I've learned of it.

Here is but one of the articles I read that made me completely disgusted with it. Of course, it might have made more of an impact if the most use I got from facebook wasn't to check my class schedule. I haven't signed into it since I graduated.

Facebook is a witch!

Burn her!

Burn her!

BURN the WITCH! ;D

Jokes aside facebook is one of the most disgusting things that ever happened to the I-net. I mean what do we need that for if we got IRC. ;D

Well it looks like the groub is a fail. Might as well take it down buddy. If the regular members arent supporting then there isnt really a point.

You had the best of intentions it just didn't catch on with the majority. Don't worry too much about it.

I hate Facebook. No, I do not have 50 friends. No, you are not my friend because we go to the same school. No, you do not have 500 friends. No, Facebook chat is not better than any of the other IM services.

The people I associate with on Facebook are not the people that need to know I'm a member of The Cover Project.

Damn... ;)

I'm busy because I manage a group of Enterprise Monitoring Engineers during the day, wrestle with a 6yr old and a 3yr old when I get home, and support 6 or so of my own clients doing freelance development and consulting.

That's why I'm busy. :)

You call that busy.I have to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night half an hour before I go to bed, drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down the mill, and pay the mill owner for permission to come to work, and when i get home, my Wife and kids kill me and dance about on my grave singing Hallelujah. ;)

I use facebook, but only accept "friend requests" of people I KNOW or KNEW PERSONALLY....though I'm sure if someone on here added me id probably accept upon noticing it was a member of the site.... anyhoo.
Found a friend I had nearly 10 years ago.
For every good thing I suppose there is a bad point... I guess its how you look at it that determines weather or not you use or have facebook.

I originally used Facebook to talk with old friends since I moved away but I don't ever use it anymore... and when I do it's annoying to say the least
