Title: An Alternative to Universal Game Case
Post by: nintendoman77 on May 05, 2010, 10:46:14 AM
Hi everybody, just want to say that  I have enjoyed this wonderful site site for years and because of this site my PS1/PS2/X-Box/GameCube Collection is beautiful because of all the talented artist, thank youse guys.  My dilema is that I have a shit load of NES, SMS, Genesis, N64, Atari 2600, 5200, 7500, and Colecovision games in Storage boxes.  In my free time I have been working on my game room for a couple of months, I am almost done with building my Game/DVD Shelves (8''5''), each rows holds about 20 to 25 DVDs, there eight rows.  Anyway to get to the point.  I have been searching like cray for UGC and have failed.  I have a couple of UGC (about 5) and I was looking to see where I have a couple made using my cases as a mold or something, I figure that would probably cost me a pretty penny.  Then one day my dad gives me a DVD as a present and becasue I am a Johnny Depp fan, it was the 21 Jumpstreet Season One, when I open the case I was shocked, first I criticized Mill Creek Entertainment for cheap packaging, have two DVD in slip cases and the inside was a little surprising.  Then a light lit up on top of me head, Games and Cases?  I stated testing the game I have on this case and some fit perfectly other didn't (Nothing a few modification can fix).  See the pictures below.  Now the Dilema is the case has no cmpnay logo and I can't seem to get a straight answer from them fucks at Mill Creek Entertainment.  After hours of searching on the net I found another case that could be used for Game Case and here is the link http://shop.ace-cases.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_3&products_id=7&zenid=6f30a21faa03e46962d1afa6315646e9 (http://shop.ace-cases.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_3&products_id=7&zenid=6f30a21faa03e46962d1afa6315646e9).   I don't know the dimension for this case, but it is about the same size as my case, maybe the width of the spine is a few millimeter longer.  I like to know if anybody knows where I can buy these (MCE) cases if anybody knows something or maybe you are up for the task of looking for them.  Because I know I am not going to buy 400 21 Jump DVDs for the cases, at 5 bucks at Walmart.  Thank you for you time.  Long Live Video game Collectors!

at 43mm thick that's REALLY chunky - i use multi DVD cases as an alternative in europe - and somewhere around 28mm is the ideal.

@Nintendoman77

What country do you live in?  If you are in North America then Universal Game Cases are the way to go.  ~$42 for 100 cases isnt bad at all.

Well the Ace Folio is pretty thick, but I compare the DVD case from my Season One 21 Jumpstreet and it is almost the sam dimensions.  I put a picture tonight after work so everyone can view them.  And to answer that question yes, I am from America.  Laredo, TX.

Seriously, if you live in the U.S then UGC is THE way to go! All our SNES, NES, GENESIS (along with even older systems) covers are formatted to fit a UGC perfectly. No resizing necessary. Download the cover, print it, slip it in the UGC's sleeve and you're done.
I strongly advise you to buy a pack of 100 UGCs. Even if you don't need that many. It's really the easiest route to take. There are enough people here on the forums who will buy whatever amount of cases you have left after grabbing what you need. You might even find someone here to split costs ordering.
