8bitdo made a kit that you can put in your own N64 controller to make it wireless and work on Switch! Just need to supply your own old controller. Now we can have any color and also not worry about if the Nintendo store has any stock. The "rumble pak" they made has of course rumble, plus it's where the charging port and all of the extra buttons from the NSO controller are located. Shows up as an official N64 NSO controller on the Switch interface. The only bad part is they won't work on the original N64 anymore unless you get a dongle.

Is it possible for anyone here to be able to print/ mold parts so that the N64 Switch controller guts would fit in a standard N64 controller housing? As of right now, they don't fit. Would be cool to have a DK64 banana yellow, gold or any of the other colors or especially any of the clear Funtastic controllers "working" on Switch (wireless). I know the N64 controllers for Switch are still hard to get, but it would be cool to have them in different colors when they are available!

That would be a thing that I would watch for on either Etsy or eBay. Seems like it would be feasible though and I feel like there would be enough demand for that.

I ordered 3 of them. Hopefully they are as great as they appear to be! I have a DK64 banana controller with a broken cord here just dying to be upgraded!

Finally got the 8BitDo Mod Kit for Original N64 Controller installed. I think it looks pretty good and the install wasn't too bad. I have only tried it on Android and Windows 10 so far. All the Joystick and buttons all work great, the only issue I am having is with the rumble feature. I haven't been able to get it to work yet. If I figure it out I will post back.

Yeah, it's pretty nice. I've only tried it on Switch, where the rumble does work. Stupidly, I took apart my Dk64 controller before the kit came, and now I lost all of the screws and the L and R buttons. Hopefully I can find em! But from what I was able to carefully test, it works and feels exactly the same as the official NSO controller, but with a GCN style control stick. All my other old controllers are in storage a 5 hour drive away.

It would be nice if in the future we could somehow use these on official hardware. Sorry to hear you lost some parts to your controller. Hopefully they turn up soon. Also thanks for letting me know about how to post images.

There are adapters that allow them to work on real N64s as well
