Kind of chuckled thinking of this when I saw the request.  I bought this game the day it came out.  I was about 13 and had never really played a Resident Evil game but had seen bits and pieces of them on PS1 and the polygonal graphics didn't look all that scary to me so I figured I could handle it.  I popped this game in at about 1 in the morning. I made it to the first zombie (the one in the hallway with the cut scene), got immediately frightened by the major graphical improvement; and when I couldn't kill the bugger and he chomped down on me.. I said "NOPE!" and quickly turned the console off.  I still remember my heart beating rapidly and being kind of sweaty.  I didn't try the game again until like 15 years later on the PS4.
