These programs only run on Windows

If you want a free, open source alternative, look at GCstar: http://www.gcstar.org/

This runs on various Linux distros and Windows.

Personally, I use Delicious Library 2. http://delicious-monster.com/

Right now it is at $40, but last year around this time it was on sale for $20 so keep an eye out for it. This only runs on Mac.

Another one for the Mac is Gamepedia. It sells for $18. It contains more information and charts about your games than Delicious Library, but it is not as fun to use.

Finally, there are tons of websites that will help you catalog your games as well. These are just some of the best:

Thanks a ton!

I checked the trial version some time ago and I really liked it but I thought it was a bit pricy. Now I finally bought it along with a barcode scanner :)

I tried it a while back but not for to long so I'm still uncertain on which I like best.
Right now I'm using RF Generation which is free but very barebones.

I wonder does collector recognize import games from EUR and JP?

Game collector certainly recognises my Euro and US games - it's been a while since i added a JP release, but i'm sure it does.  Either scan the barcode, type the barcode number manually, search on game name, or add completely manually.

I'll probably be looking into one of these in the future, as for now, none of my collections have gotten large enough to necessitate such software.

once my cd and game collections start totaling in the several hundreds, then I'll bite.

As a programmer and someone who works at a library... I wrote a server-based cataloging and inventory system which catalogs my books, CDs, DVDs, video games, etc.

Yeah, I know, pretty bad, huh?  ;)
