Title: Printer recommendations??
Post by: wammy on November 29, 2009, 12:36:42 AM
I'm sorry if this thread has been made a bunch of times on here but I'm new (1st post!).

I looking for a good printer because my current printer at home just isn't cutting it.  I plan to use it only for printing covers, so I'm looking for a good printer under $50.

Also what do you use for paper?

Thanks for helping a cover printing noob!  ;D

I use a Canon ip4500, makes great prints. The only problem is that the ink tends to be expensive, but that's a problem with all home printers.

For cover paper I use Epson Presentation Paper Matte, using the "matte photo paper" settings for the Canon printer. Print fidelity looks great on this Epson paper.

P.S. - Canon's modern version of the ip4500 is the ip4700, about $45 on Amazon -

I'm going to bump this because I'm interested as well.

I'm looking to buy a new printer to print photos I will take with my DSLR and also print all my lovely covers from here. I will also print B/W text but not on as often I expect.
The scanner doesn't need to be great because I already own one (but if it is all the better).

I was looking at the Epson Artisan 810 which seems to get good reviews. what do you guys think?
