Hy to you all!
As maybe some of you know it's quite impossible to find universal game cases in europe...
I'm from austria(a little country near germany) and I've gotten nearly insane from searching the web for some cases for my SNES collection....
It seems as if those cases from mediashelving are the only ones available in the whole wide world!!!!!!
Aaaarrrrrggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! was the first thing I thought when I saw that they only ship to america and Canada!!!!! How could that be.. Are my SNES cartridges supposed to life a dusty life in the corner of my rooms and should my manuals become tattered getting dog-ears and torn pages... Ok maybe that was a little to dramatically expressed but in one word it really sucks.... Ok three words...
So the thing I wanted to ask is. Wouldn't there be one good and trustworthy soul in this forum(world) who would take a big omnibus order(Full Sleeve, Universal Slim Combo Game Cases) from some mainly austrians and when he gets it forward it to us... I don't know exact numbers yet but the amount of cases would be around 300 I think....
We would do all the payment stuff things and just would send it to the address provided and the person would just have to forward it to us... We would take the shipping cost from your place to ours too for sure!!!
Now one big question is.... Can we humans trust each other anymore? I hope so...
Anyway... To make the deal attractive at arrival at our destination the helpfull person would receive let's say 30 dollars(via paypal or cc)....
Ok enough talking.... Let's hear what you folks think....
Best Regards
Sebastian and friends from Austria....

Hi, I'm from Germany (a little country near Austria) :)
You might want to check out this website:
https://secure.webmenu.com/shopperinc/shop.taf
select the following category:
CASES, GAME
and scroll down until you find:
Item# 50-755 Universal Slim "Combo" Game Case (Full Sleeve)
These are the same cases as the Mediashelving cases and (and here comes the good news): ***THEY SHIP INTERNATIONALLY***
So you don't have to look for a middleman. You can order them securely all by yourself.
-
Thanks Kaiser, I am building a page on where to find the cases needed to print inserts and that is a very helpful thing to know.
-
Thanks a loooooot for your help!
Danke vielmals für deine hilfe!!!! Du bist mein Lebensretter!!!!
Regards(MfG) Sebastian

You're welcome. Who would have thought Germans and Austrians could get along. Europeans unite :D.
**Kein Problem. Wenn du bestellst kannst du ja mal bescheid sagen wieviel das kostet inklusive Versand und so. Ich wollte in nächster Zeit auch mal da bestellen.**

How dare you insult my mother like that. >:(

She deserved it! I'm still mad and I meant everything I said :)

KaiserWAVE and tiktektak - one of you bought cases there, has some unused and wants to sell it? I don't need 60 cases, but that's the minimum to the $25.00 value for orders at this shop. I live near the city of Berlin, Germany.
-
I haven't ordered my cases yet. Just PM tiktektak and ask him if and when he is going to place his order. By the way, in the description it says "Packed 100 per case", making it $42. The $.42 is the price for one case but you can't buy them individually as far as I understand.
-
I could place one item [42ct] in the cart, but was not able to proceed to the check out. After editing it to 60 cases the check out button appeared [$25.20]. Bad programmed shopping system or you don't have to order 100 cases..? Don't know.
I could need 20 or 25 Cases (have 5 SNES-games pkus Super Game Boy and 11 for the N64).
But I think about going to buy 100 and sell the unused at ebay. ;D
-
Ok I tried to place my order and everything went as it should!!!
I was very anxious and happy to finally get them cases....
When I received my confiramtion email from the shop I thought now I give them my ok and of they go but
unfortunately it isn't that easy.... :(
That's what they wrote me:
I AM SORRY, BUT I AM BACKORDERED ON THESE FOR ABOUT 6 WEEKS OR SO...SHOULD I STILL SUBMIT IT?
This can't be still I've got no luck.... Now I asked them if they've got maybe white ones because I tried to order
black ones but my hopes are fading away....
Any suggestions?
Regards Sebastian

6 weeks is a long time. But look at it this way, if you wait six weeks you get the cases you've been searching for a long time. Plus it's unlikely to find another place that has these cases and ships internationally. So I strongly suggest that you place the order and wait 6 weeks. I know it sucks to wait for something you want but it would suck even more to not place the order, change your mind, decide to order again and then the backorder is even longer... It's up to you.

Is there a place in the US to buy these cases at all?
-
Is there a place in the US to buy these cases at all?
Yes? Like 10x easier than buying internationally.
Click Here (http://www.mediashelving.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=W&Product_Code=USCG&Category_Code=MED)
I guess there needs to be a guide on how to buy Mediashelving, DVD, and CD cases.
-
Hmmm.... I don't know if I understood the prblem right...
I thought if the merchant tells me that they are 6 weeks backordered on this item that means that they allready ordered some more cases six weeks ago and still didn't get them. So I thought ordering makes no sense because the merchant himself doesn't get them delivered either. Or am I understnding this worng?
Does this just mean that I have to wait six weeks for my item to arrive or to be delivered? If that's the case I'd order them right away... If it means I don't know if my order can be fullfilled than I'm rather not ordering....
Could some native english speaker please explain the term back ordered further?
Sorry no insult KaiserWAVE but we both haven't got english as our mothers tongue.... :)

Heh. I did google searches for mediashelving and nothing came up for me, thanks for the link.
-
hey, don't forget about me, if you order.
And btw: me neither (beeing native english speaker), but my girlfriend speaks portuguese, spanish, german, english and french. She sais, "back ordered" means "nachbestellt". So I guess, the shop has ordered these cases from the factory or some "Großhandel". dict.leo.org sais: "Auftrag im Rückstand", "Lieferrückstand". http://dict.leo.org/?search=backorder&searchLoc=-1&lp=ende&lang=de
-
Ok so that means they've allready ordered cases 6 weeks ago but didn't get them delivered.... Hmmmm....
That's not such a good situation but I've asked them something and I'm currently waiting for a reply.... When they reply I'll decide if I still will try it and order them.
Regards and happy new year to all here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Backordered for 6 weeks means they should be in and ready for shipment in 6 weeks.

It's in the works.

Ok so now they said that the black boxes are back ordered but the white ones are there and ready to get shipped....
I was sooooooooooooooooo happy! But just one minute ago I got an email with the shipping costs....
You know what to europe(austria) shipping is 274 US Dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know. Either it's a really bad joke or they don't want to make business with oversee buyers....
*sigh* Why oh god why is it sooooo difficult to get those boxes???????
Regards Seb
-
This is from Mediashelving.com or from the European seller?
-
There is now European seller :( Both Mediashelving and The Shopper Inc. are based in Simi Valley, CA. Mediashelving diesn't ship internationally, they ship USA and Canada only. The Shopper Inc. ships internationally but as tiktektak stated for an insane shipping fee.
Btw, how many cases did ypu order to get $274 shipping? If it's for a 100 cases then I just buried my dreams of buying these cases. Hell, you could get a Wii+game or a Xbox360 Core for that money.
-
I tried ordering 200 cases.... But even in this case it's an insane amount for shipping isn't it?
I don't know how heavy 200 cases can be? Maybe the shipping is really that expensive?
A parcel weighing let's say 44 pounds would be 200 cases maybe... if one case is 0.22 pounds....???
From the USPS site that would be an shipping cost of
Airmail Parcel Post 4 - 10 Days $152.05
Economy (Surface) Parcel Post 4 - 6 Weeks $57.05
That's not cheap but nowhere near 270 dollars???? Hmmm..... I don't know.....
Regards Sebastian
-
Ask them to clarify the postage costs as when I asked for a shipping price for 100 cases to New Zealand ..... which is edge of the world stuff compared to Europe ..... Video Shopper gave me a price of $92 US so doubling the order I wouldn't expect to be more than double the price.
-
Well, I received a case today from Mediashelving - case weight (100 cases): 18.8lbs.
That appears to be an insane amount for shipping..... if that is what they are quoting you, then my only thought is they don't really want to do it. :(
-
Yep ...... and the $92 i was quoted was for airmail .... so the surface price is pretty good if you want to wait a few weeks eh.

Agreed. Honestly, if you are in that kind of bind I'd be glad to have them shipped to me and then I'll remail them to you if you cover the shipping costs from Texas. I don't know that I can do this regularly, but I'd be glad to help out occasionally.
-
I'm not giving up yet..... :)
I asked the staff(nice person who is writing many emails with me) :) to check back about shipping costs to my country(austria) and he told me that he would talk to his shipments supervisor....
I'm waiting for a reply....
Snowcone:
It would be a one time shipment of 200 cases.... That would be enough for me and some of my friends for a year or longer.... :=) I would cover all the costs for sure....

Still waiting for a reply... Maybe they decided that my "little" delivery isn't worth the hussle....

Hello again!
The neverending story part 5 or 6...
This is the last email I got today:
"Everyone other at the post office says it is going to be around the same cost. I
made a request with a Postal Agent on Friday and am awaiting for her
reply."
I think that will be the last mail I'll receive... Ahhhh... I suppose lucks not on my side....
Regards Sebastian
-
That is unfortunate to hear.
-
It's me again!
There's no news from videoshopperinc... Maybe I was making to much ruckus so they thought to rather leave me alone then having any more trouble with me.... ;D
But mediashelving(which I also inquired) wrote me an email and told me about a way to ship internationally.... That's what they wrote me:
If you require a shipping quote for 200 - 50755. Please supply your city state and zip code. We will supply the weight etc in the shipping quote.
The weight per (100) carton is 20.50lbs. Size 5.25"x15.25"x11.25"
Due to logistics we do not get involved with shipping products overseas. Ship with US and Canada
However, we just received information on a company that does take care of these types of situations.
We have had no prior business dealings with them and are not affiliated in any way. As such, you should do your own research on their company first.

Does of you know anything about this website/company maybe?
Website: http://www.overseas-operations.com
I do not really understand what they are or what they do?
Do you think they're usefull for a private person or rather for companies?
Maybe I should just send them an email with my problem and ask if they could help?

Here's something wshbrngr told me. I PM'ed you but I guess it didn't get through to you.
I think I see the problem with the shipping. I believe Videoshopper probably ships UPS (That is what Mediashelving does). I went to the UPS site and it gave me a quote for a case of the universal game cases of $288.00 to Austria :o (about the same to Germany)
However, the USPS website quoted me $34.05 to Germany (4-6 weeks) or $73.00 (4-10 days) or $171.00 global express (1-3 days) (about the same to Austria)
So, you are probably going to have to try to get Videoshopper to send via U.S. postal service -or- have someone order and then forward them to you.
I suppose you ask TheVideoshopper first (since they ship internationally) about the possibility of shipping via U.S Postal. If they do, I think it'd be a pretty good deal. $73 for 4-10 days is like ~55-60 Euro. I bought Karaoke Revolution Party for Gamecube via eBay USA and I was charged $27 for shipping and waited 3 weeks ;) So $73 for a much bigger package and a much quicker delivery sounds like a steal :)

Hey kaiserwave!
I got your PM thank you very much for your care!
I emailed them(videoshopper) right away(1PM) on friday after your PM and didn't get any reply
until now. I know it's weekend but they almost always replied at the same day so I thought they don'T consider replying me... :)
Maybe on monday or tuesday I'll get word from them but I fear not...
Thanks again Kaiserwave for your concern!
Regards
-
My pleasure :)
Besides when they give in due to your persistency it's good for me, too. Once you finally have your cases I think I'll order mine. By this time, they'll just ship them to me the way I want because they don't want to argue anymore :D
Seriously, I hope you get your answer AND your cases. If they don't answer just keep bugging them.

*Trommelwirbel* ;D
*Drums* ;)
People on this board! Today it's a snowy day here in austria but my heart is shining with joy and excitement! I still can't believe what happened today. It's like a miracle. It's a wonderful happening and I want to share the love with everyone.
No my girlfriend didn't get pregnant.
No my boss in work didn't promote me.
No I didn'T win the big jackpot.
BUT
after almost a month of inquiries and questioning and hoping and begging....
I got this email from TheShopperInc regarding shipping of 200 cases with USPS ground.... :
They want 47.44 total all together!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that's I'd say a reasonable shipping quote! The only little problems are that it's neither insured nor trackable and is shipped(verbatim) and will be veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery slow.... But who cares?
If I get my cases for this shipping price I'll be happy to wait for 2 month if necessary!
Ok I think I've talked enough! ;D
Just wanted to share my happiness.
Regards Sebastian
P.S. I hope they don't back-down after all...................
