Hey everybody, just found out about this and I love it. I have about 100 CIB (cart, instructions and box) NES games, and a good amount of rares, but nothing really super rare. I also have about 20 CIB SNES games and 20 CIB Genesis as well as about 30 CIB Gamecube game. If I go full into this I was going to replace my boxes with the Cover Project artwork and the media shelving boxes, soooo I was going to see if you guys needed scans to any of these games? and how I go about doing so, I would like to join the community :) - Thanks, Sk1p

Scan in anything and everything we do not have on the site regardless of condition! ;D
(If you look the bar on the left go to the NES link and you can see what we currently have)
We have a bunch of really great artist and people who do wonders at restoring covers so any cover we dont have is completely welcome. Make sure when you scan them do it at 600 dpi and descreen/deratsrerized if you have the option.
Here is a link to the scanning guide we have

cool however I am a complete noob to this, so I was going to plan on buying a scanner and printer asap, the scanner I have is also a printer so I doubt the resolution is that good, And I assume I should scan them flat? This is prolly all in the link you just gave me lol so I should read that. I will check my scanner if its good enough I would love to start scanning everything you don't have by this weekend I noticed you dont have the NTSC versions of Adventure Island I, II and don't have any version of III. I have all of those which is good, I also have Adventures of Lolo I and II.
I am looking foward to adding as much as I can as I am sure I will be asking for help for a lot of NES and SNES game boxes, I love the artwork most of the people here make, I will be using a ton of the custom art instead of the originals.
Oh and does that link also give me the guidelines for scanning manuals? cause out of all my 100 CIB NES games, 90 or so have the manuals in pretty good shape. Also is there anybody I can contact to request custom boxes, cause I am really blown away from some of the artwork here, also do you guys do anything with VGBoxArt? cause I really want to see this Dr. Mario on here!!! http://www.vgboxart.com/view/15501/dr.mario/?replies=10

first off, welcome. did you happen to come from nintendo age?
all in one printers and scanners aren't usually that good quality wise, usually a stand alone scanner will produce much better scans. dont be afraid to scan something, upload it as a raw, and then ask us to look at it so we can tell you how it is. getting the scanner to work good and produce good scans can take some trial and error.
and yes, we usually would take all the stuff out of the box and lay it as flat as possible, usually by placing heavy books onto the scanner so that its as flat as can be.
oh, and i actually have a finished cover for hogan's alley already, i just haven't uploaded it yet, so you wont have to worry about scanning that one.
