Also, one more thing. I have an Official US Playstation Magazine disk from Issue 47. What's special about this one is that Final Fantasy IX and The Spirits Within were about the be released. So This disk has a Demo of FFVIII, a trailer for the Spirits Within, and trailers for FF VII, IX, Tactics, Chronicles, Chrono Trigger, and Chrono Cross. As you can see, it was a pretty cool disk, and I would love to have a cover is the PSX Metal Gear style to. So, I guess be really creative!

I assume you mean that you want it in the vertical template as opposed to the horizontal PS2 style one? How accurate to the original art do you want these conversions? Are you okay if it looks radically different (such as, for example, Shenske's Final Fantasy covers?)

If you're okay with the art looking different, then I should already have you covered for Resident Evil and Resident Evil 3 (I'm working on a complete set), as well as Omega Boost.

I have a Star Ocean 2 cover you may be interested in HERE (http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=1058.810). I'll take a look at the rest of the list, but I typically don't do games that I don't personally own or that don't have good raws available. A little FYI.

That one works perfectly. I keep an eye on that thread too, I don't know how I missed it.

I happen to be using Shenske's FF covers, so yes. I love custom covers. And yeah, the horizontal. A lot of those PS1 games have the normal vertical style available, but I like consistency. :)

I happen to have RAWs for Oddword: Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus in my little personal request forum: http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=2345.0 (http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=2345.0)
They are at 300 DPI, but I do admit I got Oddysee in ppretty beat up condition... If they're too low quality someone tell me and I'll see what i can do with my new printer :D

Thank you so much M47R1X!

As a youth, and being dumb, I actually threw out all the instruction manuals for all my PSX games...  :-[

But, I still have the inserts for the back of the jewel cases, and the covers of anything that was more than one disc. Would it help if I scanned those?

If the raws aren't already available. Check the Raw Cover Scans section (under Links) before you upload any. If there aren't any, then yes.

I attempted to scan some images. I did it at 300 dpi, with descreen. Are they okay?

Yeah, I can probably work with those. Still has a bit of that moire effect, but I think I can work around it.

I think the moire effect actually somewhat enhances the art on the insert, makes it look like a painting on parchment or something, really neat.

Yeah, but it really depends on the image. Some flow with it (like Bushido Blade), but others don't (PE). IMHO.

Sn4tch, check the PS1 thread again, got a Gran Turismo cover for ya.

Though it was obvious that I meant just that.

I asked in the scanning thread, but I'll ask here too.

Is there anything I can do about the Moire Effect? I tried covering it up in GIMP with Unmask Sharpening and Despeckle filters, and it looks better, but it's still bad.

I know you can go to Advanced>Descreen (on a mac at least), but it doesn't seem to do much to get rid of the effect..

It must just be the printer. I scanned Wipeout 3, and it should be in the raws. It turned out better than Bushido Blade 2. I tried doing some more scanning, but it seemed to get even worse. Do you guys have any suggestions on a decent scanner that might not cost a whole ton?

Hoo man, WipeOut 3 looks like it'll give me aspect ratio nightmares... I'm gonna have to either go all custom or find something else for the front cover.

I don't personally have a copy of it, but they made special edition of Wipeout 3 where the box art was much more simple in both NTSC and PAL regions. That might work better if you just remove the "special edition" part.

Got something a little different:

http://www.thecoverproject.net/uploads/M47R1X.custom.ps1_wo3v-ps1-m47r1x.jpg

Official Wipeout 3 art, run through a few filters.

BTW, on the topic of scanners, I have this Lexmark all-in-one that I got at Wal-Mart for $80 and it could stand to be a little better, but it isn't bad. I fix everything up in Photoshop anyways.

Hey, no prob, I enjoy doing it. I needed the Gran Turismo and the Parasite Eve covers myself. I just recently decided to go the way of the vertical, so you caught me at a convenient time. I explored the raws section a little bit and it seems that the only raws available in the database currently that match up to your list (PS1) are a scan of the Namco Museum vol. 3 front cover and the Japanese version of GT2, which looks good, but I still couldn't find any backs, and the making it vertical might make the image look a little... bad... So other than that, upload some raws (I know you had a hard time with BB2 and apparently Wipeout 3 was a one-time deal) and I'll see if I can work my magic.  ;D
