Hi guys, totally new to the cover project. I was looking for a cover for Action52 for NES. Couldn't find one so have put one together myself. I was going to upload it - maybe someone else could use it or make it better, but noticed it's not a game I can select for upload? Are unofficial games a no go here? If anyone wants it or knows how to upload I'm happy to pass it on. Many thanks. Chris :)

Welcome. As you suspect, only official titles will actually make it on the site.
But you’re more than welcome to upload it off-site and share. That’s what about 90% of us do anyway.

Hi Wiggy, thanks for the reply. Where do people put if off the site - do you guys have a facebook group or similar for sharing? I'm sure most people who want this would be more than capable of doing a better job than me anyway, but I just wanted to make a wee contribution.

Just host them on box or mediafire.
I’ve got a link to my covers in my signature if you want to see how people typically post their covers.

Action 52 should be official enough to be accepted as long as the quality meets our very strict standards.
I think why we don't have the cover is more due to the fact that we haven't had good enough raw for it.
But for still I suggest the Mediafire or Box route so we can assess the quality and give you tips how to improve.
And in cases that one wants to upload a ready cover (not raws, those should always be distributed by the Mediafire / Box route) that is not on the list, just use game name that is close in alphabets.

I believe Arseen is correct. while it was not an "Official" title it was still a commercial release of original games. We don't host homebrew or bootleg/modded games, but we do host covers for unlicensed game such at Tengen's NES library.
Also as Arseen mentioned, we do have a very strict standard so make sure your cover meets the proper dimensions, is high resolution and in this case, does not have a Nintendo seal of quality.

Hi guys, first off thanks for all your replies and advice.
Being new to the site and not yet being 100% on your rules it's nice to get a steer in the right direction. At this point all my games are un-boxed and shelved. My latest purchase came packaged in a universal game case so I just thought I'd use it for my action 52 cart as it's the only unofficial game I have and looks out of place on the shelf.
I used to be pretty hot on Photoshop but haven't used it for a good 8 years. Also the images I used were found with a quick image search on google, and tidied up a little. Fine for my own purposes but not of sufficient quality for The Cover Project I'd suggest.
I have thought about boxing my whole collection like this, but I've been in touch with media shelving and 1- they don't ship to Scotland, and 2 - I cant bear the thought of modifying 300+ game cases! Maybe one day.
Happy gaming folks!

www.customgamecases.com
Better cases, Worldwide shipping, no modding needed (few rare exceptions) and creator is member here.

I would love to see what you got together for a mock cover. You should upload it somewhere (mediafire / box / etc) and send out the link.

Yep, we'd love to take a look ;D
Mockup or placeholder covers aren't accepted on the main site, but posting Mediafire links (or similar) to the forum is fine.
