I gots nothing yet.
I see you're starting us off with a BANG this month.
-
Damn Euros! It's still Wednesday!
-
I got Mighty No. 9 for Wii U for $5.00 at Walmart. I know it's supposed to be horrible, but I don't care, I'll probably like it anyway. (It was last night, but I'm counting it as today).
-
Louisville Arcade Expo is this weekend, and I've got $300 burning a hole in my pocket. Hoping there's some great vendors there this year
edit: Anyone else going to be there?

Yay been looking for this one. got it on a trade with a local store.

Retro Games Plus here in Connecticut has a Donkey Kong arcade machine, and offered a $50 gift card to whoever sets the high score by the end of February. The high score was 140,000. I tried several times but stalled at around 130,000. Finally, on my last game on the last day of the month, everything went my way and I scored 320,000. Now I have to wait for some good Saturn stuff to get traded in so I can spend my prize.

I had been considering getting one of these for a while and seeing you guys talking about them sort of spurred my interest again. The biggest issue I was running into with my current setup was that I was running out of component inputs, and I've been getting more and more of my systems running through component lately. So I finally decided to pull the trigger and pick this up.
It's a 16 in and 8 out Extron matrix switcher. At the moment, I will only be using 15 of the inputs and 4 of the outputs so I will have some room for expansion.
Not pictured are all of the phoenix connectors (20 out of the 24 that it can use). That was part of the reason why I was so excited to get this unit. Not only did it have 16 inputs, but it included the phoenix connectors which can be pretty expensive to buy separate. They weren't in this picture because I was in the process of wiring the RCA connectors into them. In addition to this, I also ordered plenty of BNC to RCA connectors and lots of extra RCA Y-adapters which I'm cutting up into my phoenix splices. This thing works with composite, s-video and component which means it will take anything I can throw at it besides my HDMI systems which I'm handling in a different way. I was able to get about 9 systems hooked up last night and so far everything is working. Fingers crossed that the rest of the connections work.
Wiggy or anyone who is using this, how did you print out your labels for the switches? I was planning on making something in Photoshop, but if someone has one already that I can use as a template, you will save me a lot of time. I'm planning on using images of the systems rather than the actual names, but I'm mainly looking for a template that is already the correct size.
My old switchers may be for sale soon, but that isn't decided yet.

Oh, I forgot to add that while I got a decent deal on the matrix switcher, I didn't get as good of a deal as the guy who sold it to me. He left the $20 Goodwill sticker on it before he shipped it to me. :P
Good for him I guess. I 'm still happy though because everything including all of the BNC and y adapters was still a reasonable price in my opinion, and if I end up selling my older switch boxes, I might even break even.
-
what is the real advantage of a Matrix switcher?
-
what is the real advantage of a Matrix switcher?
They are commercial grade, so they overall build quality is very good.
Little to no signal degradation
Very few switchers on the market have more than 4 inputs which helps prevent using switches on top of switches on top of switches
Matrix switching means you can send one signal to multiple TVs if you wish, or even run one console to one TV while running another console on another TV at the same time
Some units (including mine) work with composite, s-video, component, RGBHV, RGBS, RGsB, and stereo audio
They are considerably more expensive when buying new, but if you can find a good deal on a used model, they can sometimes be no more expensive than 4 comparable separate A/V switchers

Azure Striker Gunvolt is $39.99 in store at Target BUT it's $28.49 on their mobile app AND for the next 2 days there's a 50% cartwheel coupon so I got it for $15.

So they kicked me 3 days before they shipped them? Are you serious? Well... I got my $80 back at least...
Edit 1) TJ is reiterating to me that I am still a Ballsack (God, how I love Kickstarter support....)
Edit 2) N64 to USB adapter doesn't seem to work based on comments
Edit 3) Where's the 5555?

Mine arrived as well.
I played about 30 minutes of Mario Kart and 30 minutes of Goldeneye.
It's super light to the point of being a little strange. The analog stick feels pretty good. Overall, the buttons feel good to me, but I had trouble getting used to playing Goldeneye with the new button layout. I especially had trouble using the c-buttons. I kept hitting c-down when I was trying to hit c-right. I'm not sure if the c-button locations are bad or if it's just something I would have to get used to. Overall I'm happy with the controller, but I'm glad that I only ordered one.
I'm not a big Smash player, so I can't comment on how that feels. I know that will be a big deal for some, but it won't matter much to me.
-
Took a little while to get used to Goldeneye for me, as well. However, after a few stages I was adapted and I love it. Played a ton of Star Fox and OoT, and those feel great. Although the best improvement in game I have found is Mario 64. Makes the game feel like a Wii U or Switch game with this new layout. So I am definitely happy with my purchase.
The controller really is well done and the buttons feel great....eeeeexcept for L and R. Maybe it's just mine, but my L and R shoulders feel loose and a little fragile. Like, if I press them too hard they'll break. Nothing defective, they just don't feel as tough as the rest of the controller. Maybe it's just in my head and I'm just used to the heavy duty shoulder buttons of the PS4 and Xbox1, but if I had one complaint about the controller, it'd be that.

I also had trouble getting used to the Z buttons. I definitely like what they did with the Z buttons, but until I can get used to it, it's messing with my muscle memory.
-
I also finished up my Okami collection today. For the record, I also have the digial version of the PS3 game.
If anyone has a scan of the DS game, I would appreciate it.

Gosh! How big is that??? Looks the size of a PlayStation lol
Never seen one of those before. Great find!

Never posted my SNT. Got the clear one. Not happy with how it looks versus the renderings that they used to sell it. I’m not alone in that regard.

Got this micro from a friend and I really don’t know any of the history behind it. Nobody seems to, and it’s been through several hands in the last 6 months. It’s not a factory job, that’s for sure. Probably a promotional item of some sort.

And finally my 3rd PSX. This one works though :P
It was customized by my friend, the infamous Nhantendo. It has English menus and plays games from the HDD if so desired. I designed and produced little labels and display stands for the controller and remote to go along with them. He did a limited run of 10. I’ll make sure to post more pics later.

I also bought a clear Super Nt. I feel the same way. If I could do it again I would rather have the super famicom version. The system is fantastic in every other way. I hope they do a Genesis version next.

This month's pick up's ;
I'll post the important ones first;

The archos is the 'console' and knights of valour 3 is the 'game'
Glad I spotted these on ebay, the gamepad 2 was basically new for £140, not sure if I got a bargain or if I got ripped on that...
KOV 3 was £270, considering I've only ever seen it on arcade specialist sites for around £500 I feel like I got a bargain on this, also the only other game I want for PGM 2 goes for around £600, I think it's time to start saving...
Next up, I thought I'd cross a few games off my ever expanding list...
(http://i782.photobucket.com/albums/yy106/gameathlon/DSC_0032_zpst5v3iazb.jpg) (http://s782.photobucket.com/user/gameathlon/media/DSC_0032_zpst5v3iazb.jpg.html)
Played the demo of "the walking dead" , I thought it was pretty cool, so when I saw those 2 I thought why not pick them up, "wolf among us", can you really go wrong with a telltale game?
"Gravity rush" seems like an interesting game, looking forward to trying it, "murdered" , not sure why that was on my list, picked it up anyway...

Very cool. I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures of this. I love these things and I've always wanted one. I just don't want to pay for one. :P

Congrats on the pickup. Glad we could help you make the decision of both. ;)

Yea these are great sticks for the PS1 and even for the PS2. I only have one and I am on the hunt for a 2nd. Be careful when opening it up to clean it. the turbo switches like to fly across a room. and it is a good idea to get some lithium grease on the stick.

Yeah, unfortunately it's not working perfectly. The analog stick isn't working in the right direction and the X button appears to be stuck down like it's always being pressed. The place I got it from guarantees it, so I'm going to see about getting another one. If they don't have a replacement, I might look into trying to clean it. I can return it and get my money back, but I hate to because I've been looking for one for so long.

I'm done hooking everything up. 15 consoles are hooked up into the inputs and I have 4 outputs running to 2 TVs. I also have all of the presets programmed which will make selecting a system with its output easier. There are only two things I still need to do. I have to make labels for the inputs and I need to make s-video to BNC adapters for my systems running s-video (I currently have them hooked up with composite). You can buy s-video to BNC adapters, but for some reason they are crazy expensive. So far everything is working properly and the signal quality looks great.

I don't typically post my hauls, but I got such a good deal yesterday that I had to share. I stopped at a garage sale (first one of the year!) and this guy had 3 mixed boxes full of video games, cell phone chargers, coaxial cables and grime. He offered to sell them to me for 10 dollars. I saw a couple Xbox 360 games mixed in with his DVDs and he sold them to me for a quarter a piece. He threw in the GBA for free. I told him that the stuff was worth more than what he was charging me, he agreed and said he knew that some of the games can sell for big bucks, but he just wanted to get it out the door. It turns out he buys abandoned storage units and resells what he finds, and gets so many old electronics he just wants to be rid of them. Apparently there are another couple boxes that he's going to dig out also filled with "video game wires" so I'll be stopping by again soon!
I spent a few hours last night cleaning it all up and testing it all. Not pictured is the large bag of old coaxial, component, and USB cables, old phone chargers, and broken headphones. Everything pictured works, although the PS2 disc tray struggles to close. I have no idea what the value on Pirate Adventure is, pricecharting doesn't list it and ebay isn't much help. Overall, this is probably the best deal I've ever gotten on a video game purchase. $10.50 for all this!

That the one in Southington? If so I remember when they opened. They had a terrible selection but I would ALWAYS find at least something to buy. The owner was really cool to. Unfortunately I moved from there almost 6 years ago to Seattle.

No, that's a different store. Retro Games Plus has stores in Norwalk, Orange (where the DK machine is), and Newington. I live only a few miles from the Newington store - they always seem to have great stuff.
@tyler above - great haul. Seems odd that someone who buys storage units for a living can't be bothered to sell the valuable games he finds.
-
Last picture I will post of this. I made some labels for the inputs. Luckily someone on my local Facebook retro gamer group already had a template sized perfectly. I just had to drop in some logos and print.
I guess I need to buy one more console to fill in the last slot. Keeping an eye out for a cheap AES or consolized MVS. ;)

He's an older gentleman and it appeared to be more of a hobby than an occupation. I got the impression that there are certain things he looks for like precious metals, jewelry, and old tools. Everything else - items like clothing, old electronics, kitchenware, etc - just piles up in his garage and he sells it all off dirt cheap to make room for more.

I finally grabbed a retro access cables SCART cable for PS1 and a pretty ok SCART to HDMI converter. PSX games look great!

And I was in a local game shop and found one of the games from my Bucket List...these 3 cost me about $200 total.
(https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/80ac/b7hthv1hkta5fqn6g.jpg) (http://www.mediafire.com/view/?b7hthv1hkta5fqn)
I'm not one to pay retail price, so I was surprised to see Tron Bonne for $160. It was marked $200, but was 20% off due to minor water damage to manual and back insert. If you look, it's there, but it isn't noticeable unless you look directly for it. So I was happy to grab it. Darkstalkers I already have, but its the long box version. I am after an all Jewel Case variant for PSX ( I like uniformity) so I grabbed this one for $40 with a plan to sell my longbox version. Finally, the Saturn controller was only $20.
-
Got some chinese Amiibo cards. the Mario Kart set.
-
Picked up Kirby Dream Land 3 for a pretty good price, it's tough to find in the wild at least. Also got Excitebike for NES, and Paper Mario: TTYD and Sunshine complete for GameCube. Sunshine is Not For Resale copy, anyone know if it's worth a little more?

Thousand Year Door is my favorite game on the GameCube. If you haven't played it yet, start now. Amazing story, and probably the most interesting Mario related story in any game I've played.

Don't forget that if you use the 3d controller with Golden Axe The Duel the game will glitch out and not play. just unplug the controller and use a different one.

I think so, I know it resets the system and says it can not read the disc.

Love seeing the Saturn pickups. Don't see Saturn locally too much anymore.
I have not seen a Saturn game in the wild for almost 3 years now.
Saturn is one of the sets where I've tried collecting them complete. Those cases are so fragile I COMPLETELY understand why printing covers for them is the route to go. That and being definitely cheaper. I still some Saturn games now and again but rarely anything, well ... rare. Sports titles and even mid range title I do see but games like The Winning Post for example I never come across in the wild.
-
I've made quite a bargain in the last four weeks.
- THREE of those CAVE-Shooters for XBox 360 (Deathsmiles, Dodonpachi Ressurection and Akai Katana) for around 10 bucks a piece... they mostly go for more, especially Deathsmiles. And all 3 mint-condition or new.
- Panzer Dragoon for PC (yeah, THATS A REAL GAME XD)... for just 10 bucks. Quite nice find, this game goes from 15 to 60 bucks on ebay. Looks pretty much mint-condition to me.
- Metroid 2 for 10 Euros. Yeah, I like that price a lot. Not mint-condition, but still in good shape (light yellowing, perfect label)
- Road Rash 64 in a local store, paid 15 bucks, goes on ebay for 25-30 Euros. Was searching for this game. Really good condition.
Now I just need the money for ESPGALUDA for Xbox360. This game should work on a pal console (I've read)... love thos CAVE-Games A LOT.

A good amount of the Japanese only ones are region free also... but be ready to pay up for some of them. There's some good info here: https://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=23501

I finally grabbed a retro access cables SCART cable for PS1 and a pretty ok SCART to HDMI converter. PSX games look great!

And I was in a local game shop and found one of the games from my Bucket List...these 3 cost me about $200 total.

Not sure if you know or not, but EVERY PS3 can play PS1 games.
Target clearance. $25 each

Yes. I know. lol
But I'm a purist. I like having my gameshark, 1 handed rpg controoler, ps mouse and light gun. Being my favorite console of all time, I also like using the actual machine

I used to own it years ago before I sold off all of my GameCube games, but I totally agree it's downright amazing. I'm pretty excited to play through again, I got to the final boss but could never beat her when I owned it before.

Super nice! I am very Jelly. Where did you get it?
-
Randomly got a notification from Facebook Market for one of my tracked searches. A guy in Cincinnati was selling one for $300.
He even gave me a free game with it, which you can see on the right hand side there. It's a Japanese game called Lady Phantom. A strategy game 100% in Japanese, so....essentially worthless lol.
I found out a while back that my good buddy used to work with Voultar and is still kinda friends with him. Going to see if I can get him to help me get it recapped, do the jailbar fix and get it RGB modded.
-
I was at my local Game Exchange and they had a complete copy of Capcom's "Misadventures of Tron Bonne" for PS1. First time I've ever seen one in person. They are selling it for $170 - good price since it usually goes for close to $250. I didn't examine it closely so I'm not sure of the exact condition, but it looked nice from the outside.
Money's a little tight right now, otherwise I probably would have bought it. I did score a nice condition Gamecube controller for $3 at the Goodwill down the street.
-
I picked up a retron 5 from Gamestop for $100. Pretty good deal, since all I want to use it for is to play IPS patched games. Loaded up Seiken Densetsu 3, and it played. SO happy. Maybe I'll get some famicom games now too. Haven't even begun looking at those, so I need to figure out what's worth getting.
Also got the Zelda Spirit Tracks collector's hardback guide from my local game store. That makes 3 of those I have now. Kinda regret not buying the box set when I had the chance

I picked up some older rental store shelves yesterday for super cheap. These shelves had already changed hands once. The current owner was renting movies out of her tanning salon and decided to get out of that business, so she was selling the movies and shelves. I'm pretty sure she had acquired them from a previous rental store that had gone out of business. If everything goes well, I'm going to pickup one more today. Sorry for the bad lighting and the pile of stuff that's in the way. We are currently working on a basement project that is going to make the room look much better (including new lighting), but it's still a work in process. The timing for getting these shelves is poor because I'm trying not to bring in new stuff until the project is complete, but I couldn't pass up on the deal. The shelves are about 4 feet long, but each shelf rests on the backer board which rests on the next shelf below it, so that support should help prevent bowing. These shelves are pretty old and they haven't started bowing yet, so I think they will hold up quite well.

looks like some nice shelves there!

Well those are pretty much perfect!

those look like Blockbuster wall units after they ditched the yellow and blue style.

Good question. I will check tonight, but it seems like it most certainly would. Saturn long box cases aren't that much taller than DVD. However, I don't think it's enough room for 3DO long boxes.
Also, the shelves are fixed, so you can't make them taller or shorter for CD based games (but that makes sense based on the design).
Also, shelf number 3 is in my truck bed right now. :D
-
Those shelves were made for those games! Perfect!

A few pickups. Each longbox game was $10 CAD, and he threw in soviet strike, as it needs resurfacing.

Mine also arrived yesterday. If you look at the picture of my new shelf, there is a empty space in the SNES games. I left that there knowing that I would be adding a new case later that night.
Thanks again Banisher. ;D

Those shelves look great, nice! I'm looking for some nice shelving too, might need a place bigger than my one bedroom apartment first lol.

Saturn, Sega CD & PS1 long boxes are less than an inch taller than a standard DVD style case, so it looks like they will fit quite easily.

That is absolutely awesome! Glad to hear you were able to pick them up. Very lucky pickup!

I was able to get the 3rd shelf home yesterday, but I couldn't get it into the basement until tonight. I've practically built a wall in my basement with these things at 12' wide by 7' tall.
If I could fine one more I could get my entire collection up onto these things. It actually be awesome to fine two more to also include all of my movies as well.

Thanks. Yeah, the white looks better than I thought it would have. I originally wanted black shelves, but I'm really happy with these.
The setup will look brighter and happier when I upgrade the lighting down here and finish up the rest of the basement project. I'm still planning to start around spring and finish before the end of summer.
-
Wow, those shelves look Amazing! Thats one mint collection!
Yeah, the white looks so much better than black or brown.
Wish I had the space to store my collection like that. Mine are all stuck behind wardrobes. I dont even know what I have anymore ;o(

The part that I'm the most excited about is having them on proper "media style" shelving. Before, most of my games were on regular bookshelves, and due to space constraints, I had two "layers" of games on one shelf. I was able to prop the back layer up a little higher so you could see it, but ultimately, if you wanted a game from the back, you had to move the games in the front. It technically worked, but I never liked the way it looked. These obviously take up a little more space, but when the basement is done, the there will be plenty of room for them.

The good thing is that they're a really basic design. So if you really needed more but couldn't find any, reproducing them from scratch wouldn't at all be tricky.

Thanks, and yes, I've been thinking that very same thing. Everything could be cut out of 7 different 8' boards, plus one 4x8 sheet. The only complicated part would be replicating the way the shelves sort of "curve" from the bottom to the top. Not sure how else to describe that, but you can sort of see it in the bottom picture. I assume this design was to help people view the movies/games on the bottom shelf easier. It looks good, but will complicate the building process.
I've also considered buying the white laminate shelving boards that they sell at the hardware store so that I wouldn't have to finish it when I'm done building it. The only part I'm not sure about is ripping those boards with a table saw without damaging the laminate. I assume there is a specific saw blade for that, but I need to research it further. I would love to build 3 more so that in total, I would have 4 for games, and 2 for movies and music.
-
Two things to prevent marring the laminate.
1. Use a finishing blade, not a rip blade (the finishing blade with have many more, smaller teeth than the rip blade (They’re pretty clearly marked on the packaging regardless)
2. Place a strip of masking tape along the cut line on both sides of the board.
As far as the side panels go, are they actually curved or just angled? If angled, then just use a circular saw and guide, or make a simple guide jig for the table saw. If curved, the proper way to do it would be with a router and a jig. But you’d really need a CNC router-cut jig in the first place, which obviously isn’t going to just materialize out of thin air. I would probably trace the curve onto the new board, make rough cuts with a handheld jigsaw (skillsaw), and then go back with a sander to get the finished edge. Finally you’ll want to cut a channel for the edge trim with a router, and then place the trim. Sort of a lot of work versus just getting close enough by cutting a straight angle. Just depends on how closely you want them to match.

Oh, no they aren't curved. I was referring to the way the shelves line up. It might make more sense if I take a picture of the back of the unit which I can do tonight. None of the cuts themselves will be very difficult. The tricky part will be attaching the shelves in the same pattern and position as the originals. Look at the very bottom picture (specifically at the far end). You will notice that the bottom shelves sort of angle the games up a bit so they can be viewed from someone standing up. the higher shelves are perfectly flat. That's the part that I'm talking about. By no means impossible to match, but probably going to be tricky.
And as far as the saw blade goes, what you said makes sense. I was just curious if anyone made a specific laminate blade or not.

That's the problem I have with my shelves is that my games are 4 deep back!! the same depth as the wardrobes. and I have them stacked 2 high as well so its a nightmare when I want to find a particular game, or any game for that matter lol

Yeah, that can be rough. Well, I had my games in my older setup for years before I found the new shelves, so there is always hope that you will find some type of storage method that works best for you. I spent some of that time over the years moving stuff around and reorganizing in a way to get the games I played the most up front where they were easier to get to. I really enjoy organizing stuff like that since I find it very relaxing. I actually had a lot of fun moving the games from the old shelves to the new ones. I know that sounds odd, but I also know several people here will understand that. :P I'm sure that even with the new shelves, I will move stuff around a few more times before I end up with something I really enjoy.

seeing stuff like this makes me want to kick the 24 year old sophmore out of my basement and get started on my game room. Currently must of my collection is still in comic book short boxes on wire shelves in the garage.

Haha, maybe for you guys. I'd probably cut my finger off if I tried to use a tablesaw, router or anything sharper than a can opener. Pre-made kits all the way for me.

Take one of the originals apart and literally use the side panels as a guide for the drill holes ;)

Yeah im the same I love pulling everything out and resorting it all. Something therapeutic about reorganising anything lol I get the same feeling from building flat pack furniture, and building up a Lego kit when I was a kid. I enjoyed building the Lego much more than playing with whatever I had built lol..........Was I the only one that felt like that?? Anything I had built would last a few hours, then I would pull it apart and build something else. Who knew little plastic bricks would bring such joy! lol

Who knew little plastic bricks would bring such joy! lol

Legos are what got me into computer building and ultimately my career as a IT Helpdesk Manager.

No, you definitely are not alone in the joy of putting things together. I still enjoy doing this as well. A lego building project is on the docket today in fact ...

Limited Run Games satisfying the Shmup fans is a ways a plus. (if anyone got the PS4 copy I am willing to buy/ trade for something.)
I believe I'll have an extra (when they eventually arrive)
Keep me in mind if you want. ;)
Showed up a day early, and I do indeed have an extra copy for ya.

Yall are really bummin me out letting this thread go without updates. So I'ma post something semi-gaming related.
Bought myself my first decent printer in at least a decade:
(https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/wcm/connect/us/521ea81b-89a3-4107-ab1a-e9804473b537/mx922-440x293.jpg?MOD=AJPERES&CACHEID=ROOTWORKSPACE.Z18_P1KGHJ01L85180AUEPQQJ53034-521ea81b-89a3-4107-ab1a-e9804473b537-lySCiHD)
To be used mainly to print out D&D shit and once I get some decent paper, resumes and game covers obviously.
And I also picked up a 2TB HDD for my newly modded Wii U. I intend to back up all my game disks to the HDD, and try a few of the modded games, like the Linkle mod for BotW
-
I wasn't going to bother posting this, but I don't want Hesch to feel bad. ;)
Nothing major or huge, but for $21 it isn't too bad. Hidden Agenda was new too.

If it wasn't for the 2 on the second controller, there is no way that I would know that the shape on the first one is supposed to be a 1. :P

Oh man I've been wanting one of those

I love that thing. Pressing eject fires out the cart like a bat outta hell

Again, WOW! I've never seen one of those before either. I never knew they made a different version. I've only ever seen the original Famicom.
Where do you find all of these oddities :D

Don't normally post over here, but I've been after this one for quite some time and finally acquired it.

I've been eyeing these orange cases for a while and finally pulled the trigger. I have solid blue ones from the same website (which I use for my Sega CD games) and they look amazing. A few years back, they also had a solid orange style which I always meant to get back to. Well, they got rid of the solid orange and only kept the transparent version. The only difference (besides the transparency) is that it isn't quite as dark a shade as the solid color variant was.
(https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/5221/fyv63sm5omkt9dr6g.jpg) (http://www.mediafire.com/view/?fyv63sm5omkt9dr)
I bought these for my Dreamcast games, which I have slowly been converting to DVD cases. I like the jewel cases, but for me I prefer DC in DVD. They pop a little more.
I am pretty happy with the result, although the shades aren't quite perfect. That said, I have no complaints,

(https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/e2f1/u7weop3v6czs9nk6g.jpg) (http://www.mediafire.com/view/?u7weop3v6czs9nk)
And these things REALLY look good with my whopping TWO Sega CD 32X games. Too bad they didn't make more of these games, as this is a near perfect match (even though the picture shows it a little off , it's due to the see through/shiny nature of the case)

Been making a lot of nes repros lately. Still a bunch that need labels, but these are what I have assembled so far. Altered Beast, Eon Man, Just Breed, Gradius 2, Zelda Outlands,& Zelda 2: Journey if a Day. Also a couple of China repros/bootlegs (SML2 DXand Metroid II DX), and a snes PAR. I’ve wanted one of these forever. A buddy snagged it for me at a little Asian market in NYC :D

Custom made adapter to go from the Jaguar to the Genesis component cables. I bought it from a member at Atari Age. I posted about it whenever I first picked it up. Basically, it acts the same as the adapters that HDRetro sells for the Saturn, PS1 and Neo Geo AES. So far it works and looks great. Unfortunately, the seller just recently moved his stuff over to eBay and raised his prices a little. I think I might have been the last guy to buy at his earlier, lower prices. It's still worth it in my opinion. I played more Jaguar games last night than I had in the past year combined. +
Now I can use my HDRetrovision Genesis component cable on my Jaguar. Because why not?

One of the nice things about the new shelves I bought is that it opened up some room on my regular bookshelves to display some of my portables. I've been wanting to order from Rose Colored Gaming for a while now, but I didn't have the room to display anything. Very happy with these. The quality is fantastic.

I’ll get pics in a bit, but I got my Ni No Kuni 2 Limited Edition in. The little diorama that it comes with is really nice, but the cardboard they used is super flimsy and it’s crazy hard to put together. I think I’m going to have to attempt to glue it as I go or something.

Not sure. I didn't look at it that closely, but I remember the outer case being something Nintendo related.

Awwwww yisss. Found a guy selling these for only $30 on facebook. Going to pickup 3-4 this weekend to replace the 2 Ikea Billy bookshelves I have now. I'll repurpose those to display shelves and a better place for all my strategy guides.

Not really surprised to see more of these poping up for sale. There just isn't a lot of demand for rental stores anymore. :-[

Got this in finally from Limited Run Games.

Folowing are links to pick ups of a few other items but they are firearms and firearm safty devices. Not sure if these are allowed even thou the forum says discuss/post anything. You can look at links or not. Up to you.
Went out and picked up a Ruger SP101 chambered in .357/ .38

I know that Gamestop isn't everyone's favorite, but their 4 for $20 deal really ins't that bad. You still get 20% off with your membership, so this set was only $16.

Starblood Arena is a really nice looking game, but after playing it for 15 mins made me sick as a dog...That and Riggs are the only games that have made me as sick as that.
Hope you have a stronger stomach than me lol
Im no good on boats either lol

I've read the same thing about Starblood Arena, but since it was technically $4, I figured I would take the risk.

Have you tried Wipeout? the VR update dropped yesterday. Gonna try it today. Supposed to be great ;D

That's funny you mention Wipeout. Someone on one of my Facebook gamer groups said it was awesome, so yeah, I'll have to try that one too. Wipeout is typically a pretty fast paced game, so I hope motion sickness won't be an issue there.

Got these both for about $100 shipped. The Sega CD was box only, but the box is in great shape (minus tape on one side) although sadly it doesn't have the cardboard insert. It DOES come with all manuals though and accessories (the adapter for a model 1 Gen, metal plate, etc).
The N64 came with box, one piece of styrofoam, system and cords (no controllers). Box is also in really good shape.

Wipeout is awesome! No motion sickness!! They have done a bang up job on this update. And shows what can be done in VR! This is the best VR experience so far! You Owe it to yourself to buy this. Smooth as butter, no choppy framerate, no jaggies, just smooth and fast gameplay. :D :D

Wipeout Omega Collection right?
Is the VR mode part of a paid DLC? I like to know before purchasing. That was my biggest issue with Dirt Rally. I didn't do my homework and I didn't realize that the VR mode was an extra $12 after buying the game.
-
VR is a free update for Wipeout
-
I think you guys have me sold on Wipeout. Funny thing is that the new version is cheaper than the used version at Gamestop. I tend to defend Gamestop a lot since I feel it gets more hate than it deserves, but that is certainly one of the things they do that drives me crazy.
-
I picked up Wipeout Omega Collection on my lunch break. I will try it out tonight.

I work part time at Gamestop. The worst part of that pricing model is that we're expected to sell a certain percentage of used games as compared to total sales. So, when new games are cheaper than used ones (which happens all the time), it's almost like we're being set up to fail. It doesn't bother me too much as I'm not a manager. I'm there for extra money and my employee discount. I feel bad for the full time employees who constantly have the district manager on their backs because they're not hitting sales goals.

Haha ace! Hope you enjoy it. Everyone who played it, is raving about it ;o)

A chain store here had a quite a nice Sale. If you bought 3 games, you would get 2 games for free. You could choose any 5 games for this and
the 2 least expensive games would be free.
Long story short... I got some games, I was always planning on buying for different reasons. Those games are Okami HD, Valkyria Revolution and
Doom for Xbox One (together for not quite 60 Euros new) as well as (for free) Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Wii and Witcher 2 for Xbox 360.
I should've picked more expensive games for my free games, but I really wanted to get those two games for a long time and never got around to buying it
(got Witcher 2 on Steam and just want it as a physical disc for my collection and played SMG2 to death years ago but sold it foolishly).
