Got Lost Sphear for Switch. Came directly from Square Enix and costed an arm for shipping but at least it was in a box and not an enveloppe.
Arseen, congrats for the thread subject, I really like it :)

WOW thats alot of games from Limited Run! Your single-handedly keeping them in business lol ;D

But is still only 140PPI/DPI, so not even high enough for TCP's print standards :P

Nice. That's the good version to have too. I have the later release that I bought on clearance at Target.

That case has seen better days. Hopefully, its just the case and you can replace it. Or even print a new cover if one is on the site :D

Rocket Knight Adventure Vinyl
Nier Automata vinyl

Picked these up for $50 between the two of them.
Just the box for the GameCube (didn't actually get Mario Sunshine yet), because I'm ordering an HDMI modded one and needed a nice box to go with it.

Actually DPI/PPI of my screen is about 67 if I did the math correctly (3840px, 57,7" wide) but the size negates that problem.
And 4K TV resolution exceeds SNES Verticals template's resolution so I can see the whole cover at once.
65" TV viewed less than meter away so cover making/checking should be sharp.

I bought some alcohol to stock up, and and 2 shopping bags pretty much full of candy (so with tetris skill used about 40-50 liters).

I brought a PS2 trade in to a local video game store to see what they would offer. It was a PS2, 2 controllers, memory cards and about 50 games. Average, common, near worthless games. Mostly titles like Jeopardy, Hitman, Dead to Rights - stuff you'd see in a goodwill or a flea market. Some good ones (Ico, SotC, MGS 3) but again, nothing to write home about. Nothing rare, no RPGs or big name, must have or pricey titles. I was going to put it on offer up for like $100 OBO just to be rid of it, but tried this first.
Anyway, the woman goes through everything and offers me $250 credit for all of it. I couldn't believe it. Either she knew something I didn't, her figures were way off, or this place is seriously over priced. So I took the credit, and immediately bought a Nintendo Switch they had in box with Mario Odysee.
So a mint Switch plus Mario cost me about $50 out of pocket, a spare PS2 and a ton of worthless games I would have never played. :D

Nicely done. Hopefully you didn't have a gem in there you didn't know about.
I figure, one of the pawn shops I go to sells common ps1/2/3 xbox/360 and wii games for $5 each. More collectible games are individually priced. If they do something similar, I can't see them getting more than $250 for the games, plus $60 for the system with controllers - and that's on the higher end of things. You got yourself a great deal from the sounds of it.

You got yourself a great deal from the sounds of it.
So I have been running the numbers through my head and I think I "may" have figured this out. Possibly. So a buddy of mine works in a game store in Virginia. he told me that usually stores will either offer one of two deals for trade ins: credit value or half cash value (ie 20 credit or 10 cash) or credit value and 2/3 cash (ie 20 credit or 13 cash). It depends on the store.
If this lady was new, and when I said I wasn't sure if I wanted cash or credit, she may have found the cash value and doubled it, as opposed to finding the 2/3 factor. That might explain it. $125 cash or $185 credit seems a bit more plausible.
Anyway, I have more doubles and extra systems laying around. I might find out when she is working and go back. I could use a new Neo Geo ;)
-
Dang , I would have bought that SOTC from you

Finally get to play those MSU-1 ROMs :D

As much as I love the MSU1 feature, I have yet to find a game where I enjoy the music BETTER than the original. It's a cool feature to have though.

For me it’s one of those “I gotta be able to play this” sort of things. I basically agree, though Zelda and Metroid are really awesome!

Super Metroid MSU1 is pretty cool, although I had some issues with some songs cutting off at weird times.
DONT' FORGET.
When you are playing MSU1 games, you have to reset the game first before powering off in order to keep your save. I lost 2 hours of Super Metroid the hard way.

Yea the Alabama Video game market is really odd. if it is 1 or 2 generations old you can get it for a steal, but as soon as it is 3 generations old. the price shoots past MSRP.
Right now you could not even find a sega saturn game on a shelf in a used game store within 50 miles of my house.

This arrived today. I've already finished the first 5 Colossi. I'm loving it so far. This is how you do a remake. So far this is making up for the Crash remake failure.

Fuck fuck fuck! I forgot to pre order the LE of this. I don’t know what made me forget. I had it in my damned cart, then ???, and forgot :(
-
First impressions of Shadow of the Colossus are very good. I finished the first 8 Colossi tonight. The control is just the way I remember. Very easy to get back into it despite not playing this game for over a year. The game looks beautiful. The extra level of detail is amazing, especially in the forest areas. Differences are minor. Saving is automatic now which basically makes the shrines "healing stations" now. Also, there are 3 difficulty settings right out of the box instead of the one in the past with hard mode being unlocked after you beat it. I'm playing on normal now and will go through hard after I finish. This makes me feel a lot better about the abysmal Crash remake.

Axiom Verge was an ebay win for $19. Will look good next to the collectors edition.
GG was also an ebay get at $10
(https://i.imgur.com/jriZuWql.jpg)
And of course the obligatory Silent Hill gets for my quest at $27
(https://i.imgur.com/2hD6b0Yl.jpg)
At this point almost all my pick ups will have a SH game in them. I don't know if that is a good thing or bad.

Got this beautiful bastard in the mail today! An Analogue Super NT. Not as strong a build quality as their Analogue NT, but still a damn fine machine. I've breifly tested it and everything looks beautiful. Although I haven't compared it to a regular SNES with component cables.
And I knew it came with a Super Turrican Director's cut (as well as Turrican 2) built in, but I didn't know it would come with a sexy box as well (too bad the back is upside down... :-\)
The controler is the matching one from 8bitdo. SO obviously no complaints there.

YES! I've heard about this following this launch recently. Youtuber My Life in Gaming had an in-depth video on it, which I do suggest you go check out (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_OW_t9RXEM&t=0s (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_OW_t9RXEM&t=0s)). I'm probably not going to get one anytime soon, however, and I don't have any physical SNES games.

While I do have an 8Bitdo SN30 Gamepad, it's the one based on the official SNES design (that they discontinued), not the one shown here. It still looks, and probably functions great.
-
Damn. My SNT won’t be here until next tuesday, according to tracking :/
Oh well. These arrived in the meantime.

Looks great but I just couldn't get to grips with the crap controls....I wish motion controls would just die! Or at least give an option to use regular controls.
Think I only played the first level, and that was enough

I have something similar for my TG-16. Works surprisingly well.

nice job. I attempted to solder one of those up with s-video cables last week.... got too frustrated with the soldering being crap and tossed it in the trash.

For the record, I bought this. I didn't make it myself. Unfortunately, I don't have time for these types of projects anymore, and it was cheap enough to justify paying someone else to do it.

Always liked the look of Nights into Dreams, but never bought a Saturn.

I was given this Gamecube HDMI adapter by a friend today. Apparently he was even given it by someone else after they received it as a "review copy" by the company. My buddy couldn't use it because his GC lacks the digital out. He offered it for free, but I gave him a gold N64 controller for it. (still a steal on my end)
I already have the GC component cables, but I am eager to see how this thing does. I've heard these aren't as smooth as the component cables, but my main living room TV doesn't have any inputs but HDMI. Could be nice to play Metroid Prime or Eternal Darkness on a 65" screen instead of the 32" I keep for non HDMI systems. Plus I really like the little box it came in :D

That has to be trash adapter... just send it to me so I can dispose it properly... ::)
-
I've watched a few reviews of this.Looks like a solid product, just a tad expensive at $150!
Let's hope this opens the doors for an N64 HDMI Adapter *Fingers Crossed*

Bought a few eBay lots. 3 dreamcasts for repair for about $30, plus some SFC carts and a whole whack of controllers and cables.
On a side note, has anyone ever tried getting smoke damage out of a white console? I think the middle one was involved in a fire

Man...I'm gagging just THINKING about the smell of those things

Don't listen to Arseen. That is a great adapter that you should use forever. Now your old component cables are officially obsolete and garbage. You can send those to me for proper disposal.

The really dirty one smells a bit like smoke, but honestly not as bad as I expected. The other kinda dirty one smells like an old automotive repair shop phone.

That's very specific. :P

It's funny, I immediately knew EXACTLY the smell you are describing. Maybe it was the old automotive repair shop Dreamcast!

I was watching a random Youtube video that Youtube suggested... then I heard few sentences that addad up to:

Then checked the picture and the items matched.
Funny how Youtube directs one.

That's a nice Goodwill find. 8)
But of course, the big questions is, did they know what they had? ;)

Wow! Darius from goodwill?!?! Awesome find.

They were asking $176 for it. But I figure I've got well over 2-250 worth of games alone. And I do need a new saturn since my CD drive randomly decided to take a sabatical

Since Darius is a "terrible" game ill take it off your hands for ya! ;) ;)

I'll take that into consideration there, buddy ;)
What's even more amazing is that most of the boxes aren't broken at all. I think the only 2 games that have damage are the only 2 'not great' games in there. Criticom and Robotica or w/e

Pretty interesting weekend. Picked up half a dozen good strategy guides for old RPGs from Half price books because of their 20% off sale, a Sonic Pocket Adventure for my NGPC, a Virtual Boy and 4 games, but biggest of all, one of these babies:
It'll get here on tuesday, and the BNC to RCA adapters will be here...well they're being shipped by USPS, so sometime this year hopefully. I'm trying to source some cheap RCA Y adapters with the 2 female connectors. This thing uses Phoenix connectors for the audio, so I have to splice the female RCA into the phoenix screw terminals for audio.

nice find. I am still using the powered pelican switched for composite, component and s-video with hdmi scalers and distribution blocks.

Nice fine with the switch box. I've considered getting one of those, but I currently have all of my switch boxes covered. I always figured that if they ever start to give me trouble, I would replace them with this type of unit.
One thing I've never understood is how you hook the audio up to those. What kind of adapter do you need for that? I know Wiggy has one of these switchers too. Do any of you have a picture of what that looks like?
-
It's the blue connectors at the bottom. They're called phoenix connectors. You have to take a female RCA cable, strip the ends, and then connect it to the L/R and Ground planes on the screw terminals. RCA Y-splitters and extension cables are perfect for this. Just gotta find one that's cheap enough and feasible.

Yeah, I knew they connected to the bottom part, I was just curious about how it all looked when it was hooked up.

Hey Bear78 can we get a shot of the room. It looks improved.
-
I didn't realize Secret of Mana was out already and I also didn't realize it was being released on physical media. Thanks again for the heads up Bear!
-
No problem man! It's a GameStop exclusive FYI.

Yeah, I need to post some new pics of my room(s).

Nice! Configured with 12 actual inputs is NOT common. Mine has 8, which luckily is more than enough for me at the moment.
As far as audio goes, you could always do what I did. I think I posted pics in my “holy crap!” thread.
edit: guess I never posted it here? Anyway, I did post it on CAG.

The best part was it was only $45, with free shipping. Most people wanted $40+ JUST for shipping. I just ordered phoenix connectors last night, so I should have it fully operational just in time to leave for my Arcade Expo in Louisville.
Wiggy, all I saw in that thread was talk about Halloween and dremels...?

Does it show up as a 24 page thread with you landing on p23? Might be something with my settings for post count per page. Regardless, the extron posts are towards the end of the thread.
Goodies from the Square-Enix valentine’s sale. ~$95 shipped for this box. And I only already own 2 of the games in there by accident, with supreme commander 2 also coming from a S-E webstore sale last year. I’m hopeless. Into the trade pile it goes...

I caught your post on facebook and got an order in as well (sale ends today). For some reason I stopped getting their email notifications so I didn't know about it. Unfortunately Nier was sold out, but otherwise I was able to order everything I wanted for super cheap. Lots of stuff 80% off.
-
Glad I saw your posts on the Square Enix sale, I just managed to catch a couple deals. Some games I would have otherwise purchased where out of stock, but I found 5 or 6 still available that I wanted. Thanks!

Looks like that was it. It's a 72 page thread for me
Was there any difficulty in that? Or did you just lift the pins to the BNC connectors, and solder directly to the points where the phoenix would have connected?

Walmart came through with the cereal finally!

Some Amazon purchases.

Got these from my local game shop Pink Gorilla Games. Triforce Heros was $18 and FFE was $14

Guess I was in a 3DS mood.

I got a second copy of Triforce Heroes coming from Walmart for $8 to leave sealed (I collect Zelda games). They have them on clearance.

Unfortunately my Walmart never has games on clearance. If they do its not a deep one and usually not worth it.

Mine doesn't either, it was though their website. They have the Fire Emblem Echos for $20 right now too.

Not at all difficult, just time consuming. And yes, that’s exactly how I modified it :)

I had wondered if something like that were possible...but I already ordered all the phoenix and RCA splitters :/
Also, somehow their warehouse messed up and sent me a unit with 8 in/8 out. Though the front shows it's a 12in model. They're either going to correct it or just give me a refund. Not terribly happy about it, but they're handling it really well at least

Well, showing 12 in on the front doesn't mean anything. Did they provide a picture showing 12 inputs on the back? These things were designed for commercial use, so to save money some units have buttons on the front despite not having the inputs on the back. For example, they probably made a 12 in / 8 out unit and a 8 in / 8 out unit with the exact same front. The 8 in / 8 out unit would just have 4 buttons on the front that do nothing. It's very common to list an 8x8 as a 12x8 just because of the number of buttons on the front, but they should be listing it based on the inputs/outputs on the back. It's confusing, but often times the people selling this stuff don't exactly know what they have.
-
Oh, no. The pictures on the auction show a full 12/8. The pictures I posted were from the auction. My point was they probably just saw the 12/8 layout on the front and assumed it was the right one. Think they sold my 12/8 and the 8/8 at the same time and mixed up orders. My 12/8 was already delivered to someone else, so they're trying to get the person to return it to them (the seller is paying for shipping for all this) so they can get it sorted out.

I gotcha. Good luck with it all working out.

That's a drag. Those 12in are not nearly as easy to find :(

I really enjoyed Robinson the Journey. Certainly, wasnt worth the full asking price. Picked it up a few months later half price. Hope you enjoy the game. Its quite short but enjoyable.

Yeah I've heard it's ok. It was right at $30 after discounts and it's one of the rarest PSVR games so I figured I'd pick it up since I found it.

I recently got a cash back rebate from my Visa card of $150 so I bought this for $100 and an original Gameboy for $30 from a local game shop.

Oh wow, its classed as a rare game is it? Cool, I didn't know.
I was really looking forward to Moss, but after seeing the reviews the length of the game has put me off. I really enjoyed the demo, even down to the title screen standing in the church. Really gives you a sense of scale.
Starchild also looks like it could be amazing. It's a 2.5 side-scrolling Metroid game! ( you can try the demo found of the PSVR Demo Disc 2) I just hope its longer than 2 hrs!

One last question, it looks like you ignored the ground connection on the phoenix side. I was hoping I wouldn't have to bridge both of the sleeve wires to ground like most of the Extron guides suggest. I assume it works fine without that central ground connection?

I’ve always wanted on of these. For $50, I couldn’t pass it up. Even tinkered with it a bit and got SMW playing and saving :D

What the... please explain
-
It’s a development board for the SNES.
The slots are for EPROMs and SRAM. Devs would have used them to test various builds of their games on actual hardware :)
-
I've always wanted a purple glove too =( jealous over here now =(
-
At work we have white one, blue ones, sometimes purple ones, and sterile natural rubber colored ones.
I'd like black ones.
-
See, purple gloves are totally worth that $50, rare AF =(
