Okay, so I bought this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AWRUIY4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you don't feel like clicking on the link, it basically expands my home network using my home's electrical wires to give Ethernet fast speeds to devices in other rooms. The thing works like it should.
However, when it comes to Port Forwarding consoles or using LAN Tunneling programs like Xlink Kai, it doesn't seem to run through it. Anyone else have this problem? I hope its fixable.
Thanks!

HPNA power line adapters shouldn't make a difference. Port forwarding is based on LAN IP address, and if your router doesn't agree what your local IP is then port forwarding would be the least of your problems. Some routers can do port forwarding based on device name, but again, the adapters shouldn't make any difference there.
The only way I could see a problem is if you're forwarding ports based on MAC address, and the router is seeing the MAC address of the first adapter instead of your PC (or whatever it is)? In that case, I'd suggest either finding the MAC of the adapter and forwarding to that, or switch to forwarding based on static IPs. That shouldn't happen with most adapters though.
Another possible scenario: If you were using WiFi before, you might still be trying to forward to the IP or MAC of your wireless card instead of your Ethernet card.
That's all I can think of. I've used multiple combinations of different brands of adapter with tons of different routers, PCs, and game consoles. Never had an issue with port forwarding. I hope you can find a fix.

Port forwarding has worked fine for me in the past and continues to do so, even with my current router. But for some reason, it doesn't work with the powerline adapter. I am trying to port forward my PS2 so that I can host rooms on the Twisted Metal Black Online Rebirth servers. When the lobby list comes up, I check my router and it states that the PS2's IP Address (192.168.0.16) is connected. But when forwarding the IP, the game still says that a firewall has been detected.
The same goes with Xlink Kai, which finds my console sucessfully when directly connected to the router but not with the powerline adapter. I am using a Netgear Nighthawk if anyone needs to know.
